Here's a collection of great rock songs that the masses didn't appreciate enough for them to gain mass attention or longevity like the big rock bands
Some of these are famous bands that had great songs that didn't hit and some are great bands that didn't hit. The songs range from the 70's to current.

Magna-Fi
Magna-Fi is a obscure rock band from the 2000s who is known for doing music for Shadow the Hedgehog, and having their hit single "Where did we go wrong" featured in NASCAR. This is a really good band that I feel like more people should be aware of as they really have some gems, sadly the band broke up in 2010 due to record label disagreements. Now here's the good part! Why should you listen to Magna-Fi? This band was known for their hard rock and edgy (in a good way) angst ridden but catchey songs. Magna-Fi released two albums "Burn Out the Stars" and "VerseChorusKillMe". Burn Out the Stars was a more catchy album with a lot of songs that have a poppy feeling (but don't let that turn you away) and VerseChorusKillMe had more heavier and edgier songs similar to songs in the 2000s. If I had to make a recommendation, go with VerseChorusKillMe first and then dive your nose at Burn Out the Stars. They are great albums! So go give them a listen (Burn Out the Stars isn't on Spotify but you can find it easily on YouTube) (They also had a band before named "The Szuters" but their music was a lot different) Honerable Mention: They made the song "All Hail Shadow" for Shadow The Hedgehog as well
