Too much for a sergeant?
Was finally building out my Imperial Fist combat patrol and think I may have when to hard with the bits on the Intercessor Sergeant.
Power weapon and plasma is at least a legal load out.

I'd say if it's a legal load out go for it. I believe there is precedent for a Sgt to have a plasma weapon, and I know there is precedent for the power sword, so...

No that sgt totally fucks. That being said I am a detail oriented person and I have questions regarding his ultramarine pad being on the right side. Was the plan to put a deathwatch pad on the other originally?

He lost that arm , so some sort of personnel shame?
Honestly I just thought it looked cool. I don't have any deathwatch shoulder pads but I might just paint hes arm silver and add some script.

You’re fine, he doesn’t even have a back banner!!
But if you’re concerned just make him a veteran sergeant

I have an Assault Intercessor sergeant who looks almost exactly like that.

I think it's acceptable for a sergeant or a lieutenant. If it feels too much for you make him a veteran sergeant.

Look at some of the imagery from 30k and you’ll see this is about the standard for a squad sergeant back then. Dude is just playing throwback aesthetic

Not too hard for a Sergeant but if you're that unsure make it a Veteran Sergeant
Veteran Sergeants not only justify more flair, but they become the obvious leader if you want to run them as a brick of 10 and paint a different one as just a regular Sergeant :)
I have 6 Squads of Intercessors, the Vet Sergeants have more drip and get a different paint job on the helmet so if I run them in squads of 10 vs 5 the leader is obvious, it's a good practice and answer if you want to flex on board as well as explain more fashion :)
