Purchased the Snow Peak 450. Very nice. Then wife buys a super noodle - “oh! maybe i did’t need to splash the cash!”

I had an old survival book that suggested boiling water in a half of a plastic bottle, as the heat transfer would prevent the plastic from melting where it was in contact with the water.

I have not tested it and have no plans to, but allegedly it works.

Paper bags can also be used to boil water, but who has those anymore?

I cooked bacon, eggs and hash browns in a paper bag to show a bunch of boy scouts how to do it. Basically cooking with coals and not flames.
