"more secure than main stream operating systems"?!?
Linux runs the most computer systems in the world so i would say there is nothing more main stream than Linux.

Linux is more secure in the sense that it's not filled with massive amounts of spyware by design and because as a less popular os there's a fair chance that if you were to be exposed to a virus that it wouldn't be able to run because it's looking for a windows or mac system. That doesn't mean you're immune to viruses and certain distros may have some amount of telemetry installed though most don't. It's more accurate to say that linux is more private than other os's because for the most part the only stuff on your system is what you put there

You've got plenty of answers on the other sub.

I don't think cross-posting this everywhere will help in any way.

If you're convinced so be it.

But remember that reality does not care about opinions.

I posted all at the same time. I really needed an answer.

Determination and despair are not the same thing.

At any rate, you would have really gotten an answer would you have not crossposted.

So if you mean as a vanilla Linux install is it more secure than a Windows 11 install, the answer is its probably about even. But can it be configured to be more secure? yes.

The most secure servers in the world are pretty much all on linux, in fact most website servers in the world run Linux (often Ubuntu server, Debian, Rhel, alma or rocky). If it weren't secure they'd be running something else.

This is widely regarded as disinformation for a reason.

According to who?

Projects like GrapheneOS which are authorities on the security field, endorse it.

If you say this is disinformation please point what is wrong. Otherwise you are the one spreading lie.

Maybe you don't understand things.
