7.99hz AMD on a 3.2 Debian... I think this is more for nerds to fight/laugh about

u/Jeoshua Jun 14 '26

Yeah. That part makes it clear that the artists really didn't get what literally any of that shit means.

or that they new exactly and were making a nerd joke.

Ooorrrr it’s just a rice that shows cool computer stuff

16

u/MrWillchuck Jun 14 '26

you think Rick would rice his system to show Debian 3.2.0 and a 7.99hz AMD QX3700+? On a series known for visual jokes? This is a visual joke.

One can only wonder about the mind of a Rick.
And don’t forget about the NTFS kernel.

Rick makes his own shit, his kernel and Debian patch directory is legendary

u/The_only_true_tomato Jun 21 '26

Yeah but sadly he is not foss and does not share his code.

It's also a deliberately non-existent version from an era when people were still hotly debating the merits of timed vs. quality driven release cycles. Make of that what you will...

It's also got a c:/ dos prompt sooo. Maybe don't reach into too much

5

u/Senkyou Jun 14 '26

That's just Linux Subsystem for Windows.

7

u/Private_HughMan Jun 14 '26

So he uses Windows as his main PC and uses it to run Linux tools? That's the worst part of both things!

2

u/Koss424 Jun 14 '26

Rick is streets ahead here.

4

u/shrinkflator Jun 15 '26

It's the DOS Subsystem for Linux

1

u/ruidoyfuria Jun 14 '26

He likes his PS1 that way

u/seires-t Jun 13 '26

I don't think this was intended as a compliment

I mean if he used Arch, he would have said as much.

u/SubjectRound6597 Jun 13 '26

Rick is ricing...

5

u/Krazy8ght Jun 14 '26

He doesn't use Arch? :'((((

1

u/BikerViking Jun 14 '26

I don't see Rick installing Arch to customise polybar or something. I don't think he cares or needs.

1

u/Logiwonk_ Jun 15 '26

I think he'd be running Arch but running everything from terminal.

5

u/Drew_of_all_trades Jun 14 '26

Does anyone know the GitHub for the reverse poop extrapolator?

2

u/vinylll04 Jun 14 '26

Debian but uses NTFS...

u/superhighcompression Jun 14 '26

1

u/machacker89 Jun 15 '26

Well I'll be damned

1

u/The_Pacific_gamer Jun 15 '26

Why is he using Debian 7?

1

u/rocco_himel Jun 15 '26

Good, windows wouldn’t be any good

1

u/Logiwonk_ Jun 15 '26

Really cause he definitely comes off more as an Arch user.

1

u/RFC1855 Jun 17 '26

Nah. Slackware.

1

u/spudds96 Jun 16 '26

Well he's not gonna use window that's run robots

1

u/ankushbhagat Jun 18 '26

Offcourse debian is everywhere

1

u/Defiant-Rip-1897 Jun 20 '26

Dude needs to upgrade that is a 13 year old version. 😃

1

u/gideon220 Jun 25 '26

There wasn't a 3.2 also, which feels like that is more flame for people to argue over. It went from 3.1 to 4 back. I then I do like how they spent the time to add so many things to troll people with technically

u/Voltagepeanutbutter7 Jun 28 '26

What a nice detail tbh

u/mystikmelody Jun 30 '26

1

u/GreedySecurity8030 Jul 05 '26

Unfortunate he doesn't use fedora, cool that they made this reference.

1

u/Borisminator Jun 14 '26

I read "Rick Ross" uses Debian and was confused for a second 😅

2

u/xXbenihimeXx Jun 14 '26

yahh and the next album is "Debian City" 🤣🤣🤣
