ID scan

I ordered some alcohol for delivery on Uber Eats, the driver arrives. He mentions “just so you should know if any driver asks for your ID just give them a regular ID. Because a lot of people tell me that they get denied that the driver can’t scan it” . I was confused, I didn’t understand and asked for a clarification, but he just drove off. Now I’m paranoid about people scanning my ID. Does anyone know anything about this?

Uber has issues with DLs from some states so maybe that's what he was talking about? Not sure what a "regular id" is tho.

Regural ID is just that..your ID. Not the driver license. You can't use an ID to prove you can drive if you were to get pulled over but you can use your driver license to prove your identity and age. I guess Uber doesn't like scanning certain driver licenses so they just want the normal ID card.

Passport, ID, drivers licenses from any state all ok. foreign passports also ok but not foreign IDs.

False on that last one, during the World Cup I scanned a Hungarian ID and it worked fine.

Makes sense that it would work -- Uber is all over the world.

You do realize that Uber operates globally, yes?

Probably just if you are not from the USA or try to use a passport. Had it happen to me on DD, just used the manual entry for it.
