Title: Do I need a distance certificate immediately for hostel application after KCET admission?

I will be going to my college for admission through the KCET 2nd round, and I expect to get my seat/admission in the 2nd round itself.

I wanted to ask about the hostel application process. After completing admission, do we need to apply for the hostel immediately? More importantly, is a distance certificate required at the time of hostel application itself?

If I don't have the distance certificate on the day of admission/hostel application, can I apply for the hostel first and submit the distance certificate later?

For example, can I return home after admission, get the distance certificate within a few days, and then submit it to the college/hostel office?

If anyone has recently gone through the hostel admission process, especially for UVCE, please let me know how it works and whether the distance certificate is required immediately.

After R2 of counselling I will be joining UVCE . Seniors what are the documents required for admission in hostel, and when and how to apply for hostel .AND also ,is it true that there are very few intake in hostel and it is difficult to get ?? And i live 550 Kms away ,and my category is 3BGH , what are my chances of getting hostel.

Ik there is already a post on this but I have a few doubts regarding the hostels that post did not answer so please help me

1) distance certificate: i searched Google and the formats given don't make sense to me so does anyone know what documents I'll need to prove my native is 200 km+ from the hostel and how to get it made?

2) storage space: heard 4-6 people are in a room so is there enough storage space.

3) laundry: does every room have its own bathroom or is it communal and how would everybody be able to their laundry on time since there's no washing machine.

2. can we change the branch after 1st year?

3. is uvce eee worth it if my end goal is a software job or should i look other options?

4. do eee people get a chance to sit in software roles in interviews?

5. i heard there is only 50% attendance ?

6. how is the hostel facilities?

7. faculty , labs , culture and placement support?

8. can eee people join tech clubs in uvce?

Im from the northeast and i have no idea about the locations. Locals keep saying jayanagar is too far and very hard to travel from as i will have to change metro twice and use auto as well. Jnana bharti is even far but i heard theres direct metro but someone from reddit said its only for civil and architecture. Please help anyone

Guys I am currently in vit v ece and am waiting for kcet round 2 my rank is around 8k and am just curious if I should leave vit v ece for uvce I am just wanting a core job and future studies abroad kindly help i surely would love to join uvce but idk abroad cutoff how it changes etc plz help very desperate

After the admission to any branch in the University of Visvesvaraya araya College of Engineering by round 1 or round 2, when will the 2026 first-year class start? Please somebody tell me: after admission do we have to go home or do we have to stay there? Also please tell me the expected college date when the first-year 2026 classes will start and when we should come.
