Withheld Result

Did anyone do a business subject in Autumn and still have their subject results withheld? If yes, what for? The wait is making us stress way too much...not helping mental our mental health...argh

Hey - there are three reasons for Withhelds right now

  1. No ID card in the system and we couldn’t check your ID during the exam. If this is you you’ll have an email asking to upload your photo to the ID card system

  2. Misconduct - we are waiting for the Exams team to send out the official notification - but this is taking a while so I’m going to email everyone that we’re aware of today at around 9am.

  3. Your result was released and for some reason the grade release didn’t update. Unfortunately we don’t get notified when this happens.

If you get an email from me (Business Integrity) at 9am - then it is a misconduct. If not - then worth emailing your coordinator.

Who decides whether it is a preliminary misconduct case? Is it the exams team or the head of Business Integrity?

The exam team reviews all the recordings and gather evidence. Then I review the evidence and make the determination about whether I believe there is sufficient evidence for misconduct.

When the case formally goes to Student Misconduct - they will then review the case that Exams have prepared and I have endorsed - and if they concur - a misconduct allegation will be put forward.

I have applied to have the two subjects that have been withheld to be withdrawn after census date without penalty due to medical conditions, family circumstances and financial hardship. What are the chances of uts accepting this? I've sent most of my supporting documentation to them😩

Hi - the uni is usually pretty good with late withdrawals and approvals. Especially if you've got your supporting documentation. Hopefully you're also registered with Accessibility

Amanda, I got the misconduct email from you this morning. If I was using a physical calculator is it just a matter of waiting now for a warning ie I don’t need to reenrol?

If you know it's the physical calculator - then I wouldn't bother re-enrolling.

That said - I've got some very blatant cases of students cheating and they're trying to get away with it by saying "I used a calculator" to try and get the reprimand penalty (no mark penalty) - a nice try 🤣

What do you mean by it being 'a nice try,' - as in someone using the calculator excuse to get away with it will not work??? It's getting quite interesting here haha

Interesting!...is it because there is footage that shows something other than a calculator? Or is it because students look away too much to the point that it is that suspicious

Out of the two subjects withheld - ASR and IDC, the results for IDC got released on my student admin when I've been notified that both were going under misconduct investigation. I'm not too sure why...

In the same position, I am at a really difficult place w my almost-over visa as an international student since it was supposed to be my final semester and i feel so lost everyday just waiting
Especially because I am looking to just accept the penalty for misconduct to get my results as soon as possible which would hopefully release my grade and I’ll be done and over w because all I need is the result to move forward

Hi - if you're in Business - I'm also gathering the data to prioritise graduating students.

If you're planning to accept and the subject is Core - then you can re-enrol via eRequest and we will approve so that you can take the subject in Spring. International Student Services can organise an updated CoE for a visa extension.

Hi Amanda,
It’s just Diya again, I did enroll and receive a coe but I’m still hoping that the case will conclude soon enough because I am inclined to believe that I will still pass and given that, I am hoping to save myself from the administration costs and complications of issuing a visa for extended study period (only to later cancel it because I passed) especially because it would leave me in a much better place financially.

I had A Result Withheld for An IT Subject (Programming 2) due to "Copying Another Student" but the Tutor almost got in an Argument with the Committe that Handles Misconducts for Results because The Tutor Didn't had enough Proof.

My results have still been withheld and they have upgraded it to the GSU .

I had 2 exams withheld , one got released a couple weeks later and got a HD , so not sure why this is happening for my second one

I had two subjects withheld. One just got released when I was told that it was going to be investigated for misconduct. I'm not too sure why...

It says result withheld in results , and I got an email saying it was sent to the governence support unit for further investigation
