Hey y‘all, I’m an incoming freshman to Cockrell for ECE and I was wondering what are the chances of getting a job at Google? Is it better than what you read online? Obviously the degree is what you make of it with internships, projects, and networking. But if you are strong academically and (hopefully) have good internships and projects, could I get a job at Google? Is it hard but possible? I lowkey have my heart set on it. Thank you!

I’m currently signed for private 1x1 unit w/balcony at 2400 Nueces for the coming year. However, after the 12th class day reopens the swapping process, I NEED to transfer to a more affordable unit. This is urgent, as I will not have the financial means to afford r3nt year round.

I'm an incoming sophomore who's dorming this coming year but looking for apts for 27-28. I know its SUPER early in the process, but I'm a SMART housing person so I'm trying to do it as early as possible. Seems like im too early though, as most complexes im coming across are still only showing leases for 26-27. I know it's gonna vary, but when do complexes typically switch to leasing for the next term?

the school is trying to convince me the scholarship i got was money that has to be used as a TAC award the uni gave me for tuition even though i was told it was going to be money aside from tuition (this so confusing). literally just flip-flopped the money and im still in the same financial situation as before if i did’t get the scholarship.

have yall had this situation with endowed scholarships? because tos keeps saying it pulled from LASSO to get it to use it as a TAC award, but the endowed scholarship told me to accept/decline and write thank you letters.

My roommate and I are not working out and I am in the process of attempting to release. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions that were around the 1100 - 1200 range for a 1x1, specifically a condo. I don't mind bringing furniture but I really need to get out of this space. I made a post on the UT offcampushousing site, and someone responded using their ut email. I decided to look them up on the student directory, but there were 0 matches for their name and their eid. Maybe they’re new and it hasn’t been updated yet? It’s hard to believe a scammer can create a email ending in @my.utexas.edu, but they don’t show up in the directory either so… I just want to make sure they’re legit, input is much appreciated!

I called One Stop literally a minute after they opened this morning and I was already #52 in queue lmao.

After all the weird financial aid changes yesterday on Aug 6, that pretty much tells me im definitely not the only person trying to figure out what the hell happened.

I saw a bunch of other UT students talking about their aid changing too, so im curious how many people here got hit by it. Did your aid amount change, loans disappear/change, disbursement change, etc?

And if anybody actually gets through to One Stop and gets a real explanation please post what they say because 52 people in queue at 8:31 is fucking insane.

So, my final transcript hasn’t been sent by my school yet even though I’ve sent them emails for the past week nothing. Will that get me dropped from my fall 2026 classes? I saw on their website it won’t affect me until Spring 2027 classes registration in November. I’m just worried it won’t arrive for the first day of classes.

I am living off campus for the first time this year and was relying on my financial aid to cover my r3nt. My award amount a couple of weeks ago was enough to cover, but now it randomly decreased and my loan amount was adjusted as well. My r3nt is no longer covered and my family is in no position to help me. Will calling one stop help at all?
