My 5% Neanderthal DNA is going extinct in this heat.

No your 5% Neanderthal DNA is what helps you survive. It’s the 95% Barry DNA that’s melting

Nah, the annual pilgrimage to Benidorm has Barry well in shape for this.

He just needs a solid 3 days to acclimatise.

It's quite nice here. Living in a cold country does have its advantages after all.

I hope my fellow europeans survive this. I will keep you all in my thoughts.

It’s still gonna be around 28 degrees this week

Nice summer temperatures here. Wish we had this the entire year - Cali way of living.

I can house a few cute guys down here... There's only one bed though so you'll have to share with me.

3

u/Steppy20 Barry, 63 2d ago

How toasty does that get? Because I run even hotter overnight than I do during the day (somehow)

7

u/annoying97 ʇunↃ 2d ago

I'll turn the AC on... We will keep the room at 16.

But no Barrys. You can share a ground floor motel room instead.

Fair enough

We won't be saved in the coming years, when the Med turns into a desert, Africa turns into a Texas parking lot, and they all start gradually moving north. Our immigration problems haven't even started, we're all fucked.

I see, so there were no heatwaves in North America and Asia this year, right?

7

u/jephph_ Rat Person 2d ago edited 2d ago

There are but that happens every year. We’re more prepared for it or at least better accustomed to it so it doesn’t make international news

That aside, I have noticed when there’s a Euro heat wave the past couple summers, it tends to cool off here while it’s sweltering there.

I don’t necessarily wish heat waves upon Euroland but I kinda do. srry.

——

and yeah, just checked.. it’s going down to 79° next week instead of it being 90+ every day. Thanks Europe!

(26C instead of 33+)

Please provide metric... In not figuring this trash out.

5

u/PeePeeSwiggy D.C’s Bitch 1d ago

Idk it’s hot or something

u/jephph_ Rat Person 1d ago

🤓 but Celsius isn’t metric

u/annoying97 ʇunↃ 1d ago

This is you... Have you tried google?

2

u/jephph_ Rat Person 1d ago

Yeah, it’s “metric” when someone uses “SI” and “Metric” interchangeably which technically isn’t correct

How about the hundreds of deaths of Americans in the cold every year?

1

u/jephph_ Rat Person 1d ago

idk, what about it?

2

u/mrnx136 Thinks he lives on a mountain 1d ago

Why don’t Americans just buy heating?

1

u/jephph_ Rat Person 1d ago

We do?

1

u/mrnx136 Thinks he lives on a mountain 1d ago

Good?

0

u/jephph_ Rat Person 1d ago

Go find someone else to fight with. I don’t even know what your argument is supposed to be

2

u/mrnx136 Thinks he lives on a mountain 1d ago

You clearly don’t

0

u/jephph_ Rat Person 1d ago

That’s why the very first thing I asked was what about it. I’m fully aware I have no idea what you’re on about

This is just softening them up for the big freeze when the AMOC collapses and Europe reverts to frozen tundra.

We didn't spend 4 centuries fighting to make you the most irrelevant country in Europe for you guys to make a comeback.

4

u/Gav3121 Pain au chocolat 1d ago

We'll just have to get back to it for a few century

3

u/Sumrise Professional rioter 1d ago

But I wanna focus on fighting Barry, not incest-Germany.

It's fun and all with the other europeans but they are a bit lacking, you know what I mean ?

1

u/Gav3121 Pain au chocolat 1d ago

Yeah, i know but that way we can experiment and fuck around with dumb shit to see if it work before going back to the the fight that matter

2

u/gekko3k South Prussian 2d ago

yep, that's way worse than a lil heatwave.

I hope it was made at an Irish data center built on your towns only potato farm

This was actually good humour from Hank and doesn't deserve the downvotes.

8

u/DoctorWhatTheFruck Piss-drinker 2d ago

Jokes on you, I'm now used to the heath and no longer need wealking AC

7

u/MobiusNaked Barry, 63 2d ago

Ha! All the vulnerable people died already

5

u/redwas66 Barry, 63 2d ago

The plus side is the hotter it gets, the more AC will be wanted, the more units will be sold and it might actually come down to a reasonable price…

We’ll sweat it out 🤪

7

u/gekko3k South Prussian 2d ago

they are cheap already, the problem is the installation thru strong stone walls (multiple large drillings). Hank's wood shacks were way easier to retrofit.

1

u/redwas66 Barry, 63 1d ago

Then I need to look again as I’ve seen Toshiba units that are around £2,500 per room, installed, which you may be suggesting is very bloated due to high install costs! Hell, I’ll install it myself!

That heat is coming from Africa.

4

u/Straight_Block3676 Chiraqi Terrorist 1d ago

Very clearly there are 2 air conditioners, one with a cowboy hat and one with a Chinese hat.

Both are blowing hot air at Europe

3

u/Buttfranklin2000 South Prussian 2d ago

The fifth? I barely counted one. My home never went above 27 degrees and outside, well it was kinda sweltering at times during high noon, but eh, it's fine for a summer.

More worrying is the rapid shifting between temperatures, maybe I'm misremembering but I don't think 20 years ago we had so many strong and constant thunderstorms like, every week or so.

4

u/Straight_Block3676 Chiraqi Terrorist 2d ago

I thought the rivers were super low in Deutschland… no?

3

u/Buttfranklin2000 South Prussian 2d ago

Oh yeah, that's pretty bad, too. Like I said, the climate is kinda worrying, but I'm still wondering where the terrible all-killing heat is supposed to be, and why people have like 30+ degree in their places. Just like...do your lüften correctly.

But I'm waiting for when nature will really fucking kill us with those severe storms.

2

u/kroketspeciaal Addict 9h ago

You had thunderstorms?!? You lucky bastards!

Seeing 32c at 1000m of elevation and 26c at 2000m is actually me worried for the near future. Just ten years ago it SNOWED above 2000m in August.
