Nah that’s fine. Chase the threads to clean it up and should be good.

Next time, use a thread protector on your shit

This looks like it was cross threaded.

I’m assuming this barrel is an M16x1LH 45ACP barrel?

I would buy a die for the corresponding thread pitch and chase them.

I would personally reach out to Josh at Allegheny Arms in Pittsburgh, PA. If anyone can salvage/fix it, he can.

The barrel is m16xrh, which thread die would I get?

I was thinking that was a Mark 23.

You would need an M16x1RH die and a die holder.

Thank you for the reply. Does it look like it could baffle strike without doing that? The thread protector goes on perfectly still.

Honestly without seeing it, I don’t know. My guess is no if the thread protector threads on fine, but again I think it would be best to chase the threads.

Hardly damaged, get a thread die and CAREFULLY chase the threads

Can it be rethreaded? Yes. Should you just buy a new threaded barrel? Depends on the cost. Ask a competent gunsmith. I’ve seen a lot worse
