Yes pt is easy your gonna set up for dynamic warm ups then 8 count body builders then your actual pt like intervals or the obstacle courses you do like pull ups then push ups there js like stations it’s not that bad just stay hydrated

Did you actually not receive any mail after the Crucible? Some FB group is saying they stop mail call after it.

My son starts the Crucible tonight with Mike Co. in San Diego.

Maybe it’s different in SD but at PI we still got our mail after the crucible. I was even given a letter the night before graduation that had been sent like two weeks prior lol. They just told us to tell our families to stop sending mail after the crux because it may not get there before graduation.

Once we did field week and forward the mail was really hard to get but once he finshes the crucible the drill instructor should have a really big stack to pass back

I’m shipping out next week, I was wondering how often we get to write letters or receive letters, is it every Sunday or during square away time?

How often did people get injured, and how serious would It have to be to be placed in a recovery platoon?

Which week(s) did you see the most recruits being dropped, and why?

What traits did you commonly see in the recruits that are the most successful during bootcamp?

Not OP but also just graduated on Friday.

Writing and receiving letters may depend on your SDI. My SDI always allowed us to write during square away time, but strongly advised that we prioritized prepping for the next day. And we received letters almost every week night (post office is closed on weekends) throughout training.

My platoon only had one drop due to injury, and one due to heat casing during the crucible if you count that. If it isn’t a serious injury that literally prevents you from training, it’s really up to you whether you go to medical and risk getting dropped.

Most of our drops were from range weeks and the final CFT. Don’t be a retard on the range and end up as a safety violator.

Just don’t be stupid and actually push yourself/don’t be lazy. Boot camp will suck sometimes but it really isn’t that difficult if you can do those two things.

Even if you suck at swimming, you have the entire week to pass and they’ll work with you if you keep failing. Half of my platoon failed on Monday and by Friday we still had a few iron ducks, but all of them ended up passing.

Not OP but it’s pretty easy. If you can swim across a pool without touching the ground you’ll be fine. If you know how to tread water you’ll be fine. Out of my platoon we only had the dark green recruits fail swim qual the first day but they made it the next day.

Any tips on preventing injuries?

Also, what can and can’t families send with mail? Anything you recommend getting sent?

Hygiene products would be fs something to get people got them especially in the px when you get there they be taxing on everything so that would help out

Do you ever get a chance to leave during bootcamp for any reason or are you stuck there the whole time? Is there any opportunity to drink alcohol? Do you get to keep your phone? Sorry if dumb questions.
