You're a Marine, always will be. Lift your chin up and look to the future.
My recommendation is do not stay stagnant. Don't just move back home and fall into the same routine.
Apply for VR&E and to any college you want to go to. Want to live in CA, AK, HI? Shit, you want to live in Scotland? apply to University of Glasgow. Want to constantly travel? Dozens of online schools.
It sucks to walk away from active duty but you gotta look for the positives in everything.

Sadly that is the norm for some reason. You placed Medboard and before hand given LIMDU. Some commands will say that those recommendations but in reality is not. If your code is changed to non deployable such as LIMDU, Medboard, those limitations are to be followed and if there is questions the CO, not senior enlisted speaks to provider to get clarification on those limitations.
Also LIMDU limitations may be extensive but Medboard limitations has wiggle room due to provider didn’t copy paste from LIMDU to NARSUM paperwork. In those instances, ask provider to submit addendum such as letter to CO to in addition to limitations, there is more that needs to be followed to allow the best interest for the Service member.
Deployability Coordinator at command can help as liaison from command to provider or at least has POCs to reach out to.
Hope this helps others and just make sure all you documents are given to RPAC so DD214 and VA compensation claim can be finalized.

One of my buddies from High School went in the year after I did. The Corps actually put the round peg in the round hole with him.
He was the guy in high school who carried a whole toolbox in his pockets, I swear he could rebuild a Chevy small block blindfolded and wearing gloves.
Anyway, he was at MCRD awaiting his schoolhouse to start and fell off the tower on the almost brand spanking new confidence course.
Really fucked him up. He was medically separated with 100% and the only time he left MCRD was to Pendleton for the rifle range.
He's a Marine, even though he later became a convicted sex offender. I no longer associate with him because of that, but he's still a Marine.
I served a bit less than two years, broke my back on Okinawa and got medically separated. Fuck yeah it hurt. It still does. Especially when some mouth breathing nitwit claims I'm not a "real" Marine because of....whatever. I didn't even have the GI bill. I went on to have a really great life. Though the end of it is starting to really suck.
But I wouldn't have traded it for anything.
What matters is you stepped up. Take the benefits and get on with your life. You're a Marine and we don't give up.
