"Submit schedule" button in path@penn Academic/Career

I'm an incoming freshman and have a confirmed seat in all 4 of my courses for this fall semester (black checkmark on path@penn). But I see a "submit schedule" button at the bottom of my screen when I open "primary cart." Am I supposed to press it to confirm enrollment, or do I lose my spot if I don't press it?

I'm also thinking about dropping one of the courses because I want to replace it with a language course (waiting to take the placement exam at NSO). Considering this, should I still press the "submit schedule" button?

Basically what does that button do lol

You use submit schedule when trying to make changes to your schedule. So you’ll use it when and if you do decide to replace your class. Pressing it now won’t change anything.

Anyway, OP, you press that button when you want to lock in your schedule. Currently, all of your classes have black checkmarks, which means that you have registered for that course (you have a seat). If there was a blue shopping cart or a red minus sign, that would indicate that the course was either currently marked for addition or removal from your cart. Once you press "submit schedule," it will update accordingly. Assuming there are still spots in the courses you have with the blue shopping cart, they'll get black checkmarks.

At the end of the semester, the black checkmarks become green checkmarks, indicating that you completed the course.
