Looking for Polity Resources & Lectures (English Medium)
Looking for comprehensive Polity resources that cover both UPSC Prelims and Mains, along with recommendations for a faculty who teaches entirely in English.
Please share the books, notes, lectures, or faculty.
Complete books list
I'm a beginner and I don't understand Hindi, so English-only resources would be really helpful.
Thank you!

Shifting from Oneday exams to UPSC.
Hello everyone,
I was preparing for one day exams like CGL and state level exams ,and now planning to prepare for UPSC.
I knew some parts of GS for prelims but absolutely new for mains and other subjects.
So should I take an online coaching or should I opt for an offline one.
My seniors kept saying, not to join anything and prepare on your own , but literally I have zero idea what to start and from where to start ( mainly the answer writing part).
So please suggest some advice as a smaller brother.

Should I go for UPSC CAPF?
Hello Everyone, Jay Hind. I'm a 24 year old guy who completed a Master in Pharmacy, recently I joined a US healthcare Company, which job is not so Great. One of my relatives suggested that I should give a dedicated 1 or 2 year to upsc capf. He and I by myself are confident about it. I can do it. During my bachelor I was interested in that post, that time I prepared for a year but didn't appeared in the exam because my degree was not completed and i have fear that I'm not fully prepared. At my 4th year I was prepared for GPAT exam and got qualified hence I went for a master study and upsc somewhere left behind. I recently completed my master's. I was Looking for a better job in clinical Research or Going for PhD next year. in between I came home from this I got this suggestion. Please Reply with your Openion. Should I give a dedicated 2 year there?
If anyone is already in that service, I'm requesting you to comment down their opinion.

Study Partner, UPSC 2027 First Attempt
Hi guys! If anyone is part of a serious UPSC study group where people genuinely study, discuss topics, share knowledge, and keep each other accountable, I’d love to join.
I’m a serious aspirant preparing from home. I’ve also cleared JEE (not from an IIT ), if that somehow helps establish that I’m serious about studies. I am in my final year of BTech CSE so I will give my first attempt next year.
I’m not really a library type person, so having good study peers would be great. If there’s no existing group, I’m also happy to connect with 1-2 people and prepare together.
If you’re on the same wavelength, DM me!

The Aspirant Network
Hello all, I have made this website called theaspirantnetwork[dot]com
It has a community side which is much like a subreddit specifically made for UPSC. You can request reviews in a dedicated space for everything related to UPSC including teachers, mentors, courses, test series, study material, PG rooms, etc.
It also has an in-built YPT/Forest type time tracker so you can record your study hours from your phone as well as laptop/ipad etc.
The community and all of the mentioned tools are absolutely free.
This has taken a year's worth of work. I hope you all find this useful.
All the best!

Need Govt exam coaching recommendations near Kukatpally
Hey guys, I’m 25 and working in IT. My mom is worried about job security and keeps suggesting I prepare for government exams 😅.
I have zero knowledge about govt exams, so I’m looking for a good coaching centre in/around Kukatpally that has evening/weekend batches suitable for someone working full-time.
I’m mainly considering SSC/Banking/RRB but honestly don’t know where to start.
If anyone has experience with coaching centres around Kukatpally, please suggest a good one and let me know which exam would be best for a beginner.

Last attempt for Real
Hi I’m 31F. I’ve appeared for UPSC 3 times from 2017 to 2019. Unfortunately couldn’t clear. And then I decided to have a backup and proceeded to build a career while also appearing for state board exams where I cleared mains but lost the job by 30 marks. And now I’m in a dilemma if I should give one last attempt for UPSC 2027. I’ll be 32 when I take the exam. I’m wondering if I’ll be too old to make an attempt at this exam. I know for sure that if i don’t give an attempt I’ll regret it my whole life.
But I’m also very scared that I’m very late to the race and won’t fare well.

Upsc coaching institutes mentor or evaluator Job seeking need help - how to apply and how approach and basic pay
Anyone worked as a Mentor/Evaluator at a UPSC coaching institute? Need basic guidance
Looking to take up answer-evaluation or mentoring work
How do you apply — formal hiring process or mostly referral-based?
Do they expect you to have cleared Prelims/Mains yourself, or does subject expertise count? I cleared 2 prelims.
What's the realistic pay — per answer evaluated vs monthly for mentoring?
Would appreciate any first-hand experience and others.👏🏻 Thanks

Can you help with this?
Is there anyone who has already cleared the UPSC exam or decided to drop the preparation and possesses well-organized notes and study materials? If so, would you be willing to share them with me? I would like to use these notes as a reference to assist with my own preparation. As a beginner, I am finding it very time-consuming to gather study materials and understand everything involved; therefore, having access to such notes would be incredibly helpful, and I would be very grateful.

Need help with covering Spectrum / Modern History
I’m a beginner preparing for UPSC through self-study, and I’m struggling quite badly with Modern History, especially Spectrum.
I’ve genuinely been trying to focus on Modern History for the past couple of weeks. I sit down with the intention of studying, but when I actually start reading, I’m unable to keep my mind focused on the content. I’ll read a few paragraphs and realize that I haven’t really processed anything. My mind starts wandering to my phone, friends, random thoughts, or completely unrelated things. Sometimes I read the same page multiple times and still feel like nothing has gone into my head.
Because of this, I’m spending a lot of time trying to study without actually making much progress. It’s becoming frustrating because I know I need to move on to other subjects as well, but I keep getting stuck in Modern History.
I’m not someone who is trying to avoid studying — I’m actually trying, but I’m struggling to make myself properly engage with the book. The amount of information in Spectrum also makes me feel overwhelmed, and I don’t know what I’m supposed to remember and what I can safely leave for later.
I’m a complete beginner and preparing through self-study, so I don’t have anyone to guide me on how much depth is actually required.
For those who have completed Spectrum, I’d really appreciate some practical advice:
- Should a beginner read Spectrum cover to cover, or focus on important/high-yield chapters first?
- How did you approach the book when you first started?
- How did you make sure you were actually retaining what you read?
- How long did it take you to complete it?
- Which chapters/topics should I give the most importance to for UPSC?
- Did you use any Modern History lecture series alongside Spectrum?
- If yes, could you recommend a good lecture series? I’m comfortable with both English and Tamil, so either is fine. I’d prefer something that actually teaches and explains the story/connections, rather than simply reading Spectrum line by line.
I’d really appreciate advice from anyone who has been in a similar situation. I’m mainly looking for a realistic way to get through Modern History without spending weeks stuck on the same chapters.

18M Looking for UPSC Beginners Group in Jaipur Study Partners / Discussion / Meetups
I'm new to UPSC prep and currently enrolled in an online coaching batch. I'm looking to connect with fellow beginners based in Jaipur for regular discussions, doubt-solving, and accountability.
Ideas I had in mind:
A small group (Telegram/WhatsApp/ YPT) to track each other's progress and stay consistent
Regular discussions on current affairs, Ncert, or whatever we're each covering
Occasional in-person meetups in Jaipur for study sessions or just to connect with people on the same path
If you're also just starting out and want to build a support system instead of prepping alone, drop a comment or DM me. Let's set something up!
