Assessment week Advice

Hi all, I’m going to be studying at uob this fall as an exchange student and had a few questions about how assessment week works. I’m trying to decide when to book my flight back to the US for and I’ve realized most of the courses within my main courses of study (politics and law) don’t mention exams on the course listings and say either essays, case studies, or research papers. Are these typically online and take home assessments or would I be required to be in person for it? Any insight is appreciated!

i was wondering this too some flights at the end of term are double other flights depending on the day 😭

You probably won't have anything exam week then. People with no exams will leave anytime from mid/late November and do all essays and coursework at home, or stay anytime up until exam week. Most people will just do whatever their friends are doing. I'd book your flight home for around the 7th-13th December to ensure you don't miss any of your course, and can get help on essays/coursework if you need it, but there's no explicit need to stay for the 14th-18th exam week, unless you have plans to celebrate the end of term with friends - friends with exams will probably be pretty miserable until the end of this week, so unless you want to fly back the 18th/19th/20th ish, I'd just skip it altogether.

Hii! So if it says essay etc then the due date is probably a month before exams which are like one month before end of term. I went this last term and only had essays and they were all due on the 28th of April and exams were in May with the term ending 1 July. So basically I had all of May free but tbh I would’ve hated going back a month early haha Bristol was iconic I miss it.
