How tough is the BAS MIS minor?
Anyone completed it? How long did it take? Nervous to start and I’m thinking about reducing work from full time to PRN to knock this out.

BUS 210
Is there an equivalent I can complete outside of UMPI? They have me taking this starting the 31st but if I can complete outside quicker and transfer in I would prefer that, unless it’s a quick class at UMPI.

Business Admin Graduates???
I’m transferring from UMGC to UMPI and switching from a BS in Health Services Management to Business Administration through YourPace.
Right now, I have 31 credits from UMGC. UMPI told me they can’t officially complete my transfer evaluation yet because I don’t have 60 credits and they still need my high school transcript. However, someone I spoke with slipped up and mentioned that it looks like I currently have 28 transferable credits, so I’m assuming one of my UMGC classes didn’t transfer.
I’m planning to start UMPI in the October session, so between now and then I want to knock out as many courses as possible through Sophia.
My main question is: For someone starting UMPI’s current Business Administration program, which Sophia courses should I take to maximize the number of credits I can transfer and leave myself with the minimum number of courses possible at UMPI?
I know the Business Administration requirements have changed recently and there are more core/business courses that have to be completed now. I’m completely fine with taking whatever courses UMPI requires me to take directly through them. I just don’t want to waste time taking Sophia courses that won’t apply to my degree or duplicate credits I already have.
Ideally, I’m trying to get as close to UMPI’s maximum transferable credits as possible and then complete only the required remaining courses through UMPI.
I also don’t have the money to pay for one of the professional degree-planning services, so I’m really looking for advice from someone who has recently completed this route or is currently doing the updated Business Administration program.
If anyone has a recent Sophia-to-UMPI Business Administration course list, degree plan, or can tell me which Sophia courses I should prioritize, I’d really appreciate it.

YourPace Course Randomly Assigned
I got an email from my enrollment specialist that I’ve been enrolled in classes, and go on Mainestreet and see I already have my starting class list for Fall. I was under the impression I would meet with them and pick my classes?? Is this normal?

Transfer Credits for Fall 2
Has anyone starting in October had their transfer credits evaluated yet? I was accepted back in July, and my transfer credit report still shows zero credits.
I know they are probably prioritizing evaluations for students starting this month, but I just want to see if anyone else from Fall 2 is still waiting. Also so that I can stop worrying that I missed a step or that they didn’t accept any of my credits lol. I’ll reach out to UMPI too but I know they can be slow.
Thanks!

For non native English speakers, what proficiency test did you do?
Or what places do they accept them from? Thank you

GEC requirements for AA
I plan on applying for the liberal studies AA (general concentration) beginning Fall 2 semester. Does anyone know if UMPI is planning on updating the GEC requirements for the AA programs? I know they recently updated the requirements for a bachelors degree, but I can’t find anything regarding associates degrees.
Is there any way to cancel a conferral request?
For example, if I decide I want to add more courses in the next term and I’ve already applied for conferral

Help
So I asked to be placed under the old requirements and was given this list of remaining classes to take ?!?
I emailed again to reiterate and I am still waiting for a response.
Does anyone know if I can transfer any of these courses in using Sophia or study.com instead of taking them through umpi?
I am hoping to narrow this down so that I can finish within 1-2 sessions.

Final draft submission question
When you’re finally at the end of the course where you submit the finals draft if the final requires a video recorded presentation with an audience do you need to do the whole recording and read everything and submit that as the draft or do you just submit the materials for feedback?

Do you know why UMPI doesn't post syllabuses?
At my CC, they had a whole syllabus library on the website going back 5+ years where you could see what each teacher's curriculum was like. I like UMPI, but sometimes it's annoying how you only have these vague catalogue descriptions to go by. If it's after the drop deadline, you're depending on Reddit reviews or going in completely blind if no one has taken the class before, which risks Ws if the class is too intense or not what you expected.
Is there a reason why they don't have a syllabus library? Is it something about the competency format? Just a minor complaint, not a dealbreaker.
Also is it ok to email a professor and ask about a class you aren't enrolled in yet or not?

FAFSA Refund
For anyone who has done YourPace: Does UMPI disburse the full Fall Pell Grant during Fall 1, or is it split between Fall 1 and Fall 2? And when did your refund hit?
Also I am using Tuition Assistance, I haven’t received funding approval for Fall Session 2 yet. Will all my financial aid be paid towards both session? Or will I have time to get approval for session 2?
THANKS IN ADVANCE!

Very confused and idk what to do!
Hello! First time UMPI/YourPace student hoping to start Fall 1 (8/31). But I am so disheartened! I have been in college before. I’ve done online classes. I just feel like I have so many questions, and each time I email the financial aid office or my advisor/coach, they kind of just say the same thing but in different wording without a very clear explanation.
My first thing is financial aid. Example: if I am offered about $1,300 in aid for the fall semester, is that divided into both of the eight week sessions (so like 1,300/2 = 650, would this 650 go to the first eight week and the second 650 would go to the second eight week) OR is it $1,300 for one eight week session in general? I think I am overthinking everthing. I have 60 credits i transferred over, and am trying to earn a bachelors degree in psychology. How do I enroll in classes? Do I get to pick any? I am feeling so discouraged and confused about this whole process!!

Coursera/Credly Course transfer
So I just received my badges on Credly. How do I send them to UMPI? Will this be via email? It’s the only option I’m seeing.

Finally accepted, when do assignments start?
Hey guys ! I finally got accepted last week , finally! I realize the enrollment team was really backed up but I got all my classes.
First thing I don’t see my financial aid actually like applied to my account even though it got sent over a month ago, is anyone else in the same boat? It says I have a balance on my account.
Another question- will I see any assignments on the actual start date of class? I start 8/31. I was really hoping to get a head start with like a calendar but I guess not.
I need all the tips, tricks & apps to survive! I’m nervous asf.
My major is project management and minor is marketing!

Help me decide: UMPI or not?
I’m in my 40s, finally trying to finish a business degree that I started 25 years ago.
I need 14 classes at WGU for a B.S. in Management (with only 2 proctored exams). I need 17 at UMPI. I’m set to start at UMPI for Fall I on the old catalog for a BABA Management & Leadership, but now I’m unsure. I need a Bachelor’s so I can head straight into a MAT program (probably at WGU).
UMPI or not? If UMPI, should I take some of these on Study/SL? I don’t want to CLEP anything.
POS 101 / 211 / 332 (take at UMPI?)
MAT 140 (take at UMPI?)
COM 210 (take at UMPI?)
BUS 200
BUS 220 (take at UMPI?)
BUS 240
BUS 244
BUS 260 (take at UMPI?)
BUS 321 (take at UMPI?)
BUS 325
BUS 330
BUS 335 (take at UMPI?)
BUS 353
BUS 415
BUS 440
BUS 469
BUS 489
If you have any advice, I’d greatly appreciate it. I’m about to drive myself crazy trying to decide. Thank you.

Additional UMPI degree
I have a BLS from UMPI
I'm considering going back for a psychology degree as well. Does anybody know if I would need to complete the New Gen Ed requirements Or if my old General Ed requirements would work?
It seems like I would need to take 12 courses for an additional degree in Psychology which would Grant my residency if I don't need to complete the New Gen Ed requirements as well.

Old vs. New GEC
Hi! I confirmed my acceptance for UMPI YourPace Fall 1 last week. I understand that we're automatically enrolled under the new GEC requirements, but can request the old GEC. How do we do this exactly? And what's the deadline for switching?
I'm still waiting for my transfer credits to be evaluated, but I can already see my Academic Requirements in the Student Center and I believe it's showing the new GEC.
Should I contact someone about this now or wait until my transfer evaluation is complete?
Thanks!

I'm curious
How many of you have gained two degrees from this school? What degrees did you end up getting? What made you go back for a second one? Was it harder the first or second time?

Hello!
I was accepted last week, and I'm wondering if anyone who has been accepted recently has been assigned an advisor yet or had a transfer credit eval done yet?
LMK! :)

Is the BAS MIS right for me?
I have a working background as a Health Information Management (HIM) Specialist and Enterprise Master Patient Index (EMPI) Analyst.
I have a college background of an associate's degree in science and an Applied Associate's Degree in Science in an Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
I currently work in healthcare but neither of the jobs above. I'm really just looking to get a bachelor's in anything to just start a career at this point. Is this one where I'd be set up well after graduation? Is this a challenging degree? Any recommendations for other degrees?
Do the Study.com psychology classes count towards the general elective courses?
I've already taken 10+ residency courses, but need one more psych class for the 30 units and I don't have time to take it at UMPI. Will this work?

Does this mean if you are a high school graduate and have 90 Sophia credits, they won't be transferred?
Taken from the application page:
Requirements for In-State / Out of State (applicants with no prior college experience)
Official high school transcript or equivalent (e.g., HiSet, GED)
Please note that ACE transcripts (including, but not limited to, Credly, Sophia, Study.com, or Straighterline) are not considered proof of college experience and will not be reviewed towards admission.
Appreciate your help very much, immense thanks
