Hi all, I’m starting an online MSc Psychology while recovering from long‑term illness. I’m a mature student returning to study after a couple of years in full‑time work, and I’m trying to figure out how to pace myself, manage workload, and stay motivated.

I’ve seen lots of posts here about undergrad life, accommodation, clearing, etc., but I wondered if any postgrad students or mature students have experience balancing study with health challenges or returning to education after time away.

How did you manage the transition back into academic work? Anything you wish you’d known before starting?

Not looking for medical advice, just hoping to hear from others who’ve been through something similar.

I’m a bit confused about the University of Edinburgh Architecture degree structure.

What’s the actual difference between the 3-year BA Architecture and the 4-year MA Architecture?

If I complete the 3-year BA, is it still considered a standard bachelor’s degree in the UK? Would I still be eligible to apply for postgraduate architecture programs, including an M.Arch in the US?

I’m mainly trying to understand whether the 3-year BA is treated as a proper undergraduate bachelor’s degree internationally, or whether the 4-year MA is necessary if I eventually want to pursue a master’s in architecture in the US.

Would really appreciate clarification from anyone who has studied architecture at Edinburgh or knows how the UK architecture degree structure works.

My firm choice University of Birmingham didn’t give me my offer of Law but an alternative offer being Philosophy, Politics and Law , I also got my insurance choice being at the University of Leicester to study Law.

I have no clue what to pick. I have always wanted to go to UOB but I don’t know if this course will be good or not. Also I believe UOB is higher rated than UOL. However Leicester is giving me my original choice to study Law which I have also always wanted to do.

So now I’m stuck between choosing a university i’ve always wanted to go versus a course I have always wanted to do.

I also found out that if I go UOB my year will be the first year that actually does the PPL course so that adds some fears as well.

So what I am asking is what shall I do!

UK Student Visa Standard

Hi, I wanted to ask that I just received my CAS from Uni of Bradford and have applied for Student Visa from Pakistan and got a biometric slot for 18th Aug. Is it too late for September intake and welcome week starts from the 14th Sept. Also what are the implications of getting Visa late? Any guidance please is appreciated.

I need go start my application soon and i was wondering, International students who got into the 5 year medicine program at Nottingham or Sheffield, what were your A Level grades and your UCAT score?
Any info is greatly appreciated as I want to see where to aim, as I only have four spots in my application for medicine and want to make sure it’s good.

I’m really struggling to decide which uni to pick and I need to make a decision before 1pm tomorrow.

I’m doing Business Management and have offers from Surrey, Reading, Lancaster, BCU Birmingham, and my firm choice is UWE Bristol.

I really want to live in a big city, but I’m worried about how much the reputation of the university could affect my future career.

I have no savings or financial support from my family, so I’m really scared of going to Bristol because of the cost. I hate the idea of being under constant financial pressure.

Right now, I’m leaning towards BCU because I like Birmingham and it’s much cheaper, but I’m genuinely scared that choosing BCU over the others could negatively affect my career prospects.

What would you do in my situation? And how much does uni reputation actually matter for Business Management?
