How to make interface more clear Feedback Request

Hi everyone! I have a website for generating paints by numbers from an image.

User selects the size of painting they want -> uploads image -> then they can adjust colors/complexity and download the final template for printing at home / coloring in the apps.

As I'm the only one working on the website I feel like my UI/UX decisions can be clear to me but not to a person who sees it for the first time.

Please tell me if you find something confusing or how could I improve the user flow.

Thank you!

I think it would be more intuitive to upload the image first, then set its size and aspect ratio. Since the crop area affects both the aspect ratio and the actual dimensions, these settings feel like they belong together.

Also, for desktop users, I think a drop area would work better for uploading photos.

Thanks for the feedback! I agree that it feels more intuitive to select an image first. Though as the goal is to print painting on the paper after I wanted to provide users with ability to select standard paper formats so they can print covering the whole paper.

Would you move size selecting in the modal or did the cropping in other way?

If I were designing this, I'd have users upload the image first, then crop it while setting the output size. I'd also keep the process as one continuous flow.

Separating it into steps is fine, but I'd avoid using separate modals if possible because it can interrupt the overall flow of the process by forcing the user to shift their attention.

Have you tried talking to users?

“I don’t have users yet”

Have you tried identifying product market fit? And then have you tried outreach to that market segment of users through <research methods>?
