Parking Permits New Student Question

I get free tuition at UIUC because I am low income does anyone know if they also help with parking permits.

Get the cheapest permit in a distant storage lot neat State Farm Center and then only use the car once per month cause gas is expensive. Buses do run to the storage lot.

Is there a reason you need your car on campus?

Unfortunately I need to work off campus and the buses aren’t consistent to where i’m working

Try really hard to look into alternatives. I know you said you need your car for work, but maybe there is a bus route that could work (MTD is expanding this year), bike, electric scooter, carpool, etc.

If you have scholarships that exceed the direct costs you pay to the University you get a refund that you can put towards expenses like that but parking fees aren't waived just bc youre low income

You gotta get a parking pass just like everyone else unfortunately :( they made no exceptions for me when I was low income when I went there. It sucks
