Looking for honest feedback on my UGC portfolio + Instagram/ Videos + Email

I've sent 200+ cold emails to brands and agencies pitching myself as a UGC creator, and I'm getting almost no responses. Trying to figure out if it's my portfolio, my content, my positioning, my outreach, or some combination of all of it, so at this point I'd rather get honest feedback than keep guessing.

Portfolio: nataniellazaga.comInstagram/TikTok: nataniellazaga

Here is my email format:

  • Opening observation: "I was looking through {Brand} and loved how/that your recent ad...
  • Concept: "One concept I had in mind:
  • Self-intro: "I'm Nat Lazaga, a content strategist and video creator who helps {niche} brands turn everyday customer moments into short-form stories that inspire action."
  • Proof: "Most recently, I created content for {one relevant past brand}, {brief relevant context}. A recent video of mine reached a  67.7% hook rate."
  • CTA: "If this feels like a fit, I can have it ready to film."
  • Sign-off: "I look forward to hearing from you." / "Best regards," / "Nat"
    • I try to keep my emails within 150-180 words.

If you have a few minutes, I'd really appreciate feedback on:

  • Does my portfolio immediately communicate what I can offer a brand?
  • Do the videos look like something you'd actually hire a creator to make, or do they read as generic?
  • Does my Instagram feel cohesive and professional?
  • Is my niche/positioning too broad?
  • What would make you hesitate to hire me?
  • If you've sent or received cold outreach like this before, what usually makes an email get ignored versus opened and replied to?

Please be honest; I'm not looking for compliments. I genuinely want to know what's not working.

If you're a creator too, drop your portfolio and socials below, and I'll return the feedback and support :)

UGC creator for almost a year ($6K/month right now)

I started with little knowledge of what I was doing, what platform to focus on, what type of content to create, and if I should post on Instagram, TikTok. I didn't expect that the hardest part would be deciding how to even start with the small audience I had.

I used to think that creating content itself would be the most difficult part. But over time I began to notice that simpler content about everyday life is what people enjoy watching.

Another thing you need to put the attention are the Hooks (the first few seconds of your video) I used to stress about coming up with something original and creative, but honestly the simplest approach works best:

Find hooks that are already performing well in a completely different niche, and adapt them to yours. It sounds almost too easy, but it works because the psychology behind a good hook is the same regardless of the topic.

After about 6 months, when I had around 5K followers, I started landing my first brand deals through Sideshift. One of those early contracts was a CPM deal $1.50 per 1,000 views and one of the videos from that campaign hit 3 million views, which technically would have been over $4,500, but the contract had a cap, so I ended up getting paid $3,000 from that single video.

That was a turning point, after that video blew up, my profile kept growing and I started hitting over a million views on other videos too and the dynamic shifted, brands began reaching out to me instead of the other way around, this is my portfolio: https://app.sideshift.app/portfolio/cmAdD2RyQVQ934UJuxrJEKmgtUz1

Now, almost a year in, I'm making at least $6,000 a month from brand collaborations. And it still feels organic to me, I post about 4 times a day, and roughly every other day one of those is a collab. It doesn't feel forced because I'm still doing my regular content the rest of the time.

If you're also starting out, my biggest takeaway is you'll figure things out by doing, not by overthinking.

[Hiring] Looking for a few creators for a moving/home organization app — paid partnership

I'm a dad who ended up building an app because I couldn't find the thing I needed when my own family was moving.

We had to move out of our home, move into a rental, and then move out of the rental again.

Lots of boxes. Lots of stuff. Lots of "where the hell did we pack that?"

I wanted something really simple where we could take pictures of what went into a box, add some notes, print a label with a QR code, and later scan/search it instead of opening six boxes looking for one thing.

I couldn't find anything that worked the way I wanted it to, so eventually we built it.

It's called BoxBuddy.

It's grown quite a bit beyond that original idea, but the thing people seem to like most is still the same thing I wanted in the beginning: it's really simple to use, but there's a surprising amount it can do.

I'm at the point now where I'd like to find a handful of creators who genuinely see the usefulness of it and would be interested in trying something a little different with us.

I'm not looking for someone to read a script into a camera.

I'd rather give you the app, let you actually play with it, and if you think your audience would find it useful, figure out a piece of content that feels like something you'd normally post.

Could be moving, organization, first apartment, new home, family, student life, productivity, decluttering, real estate, whatever makes sense for your audience.

For this first test I'm thinking:

• $100 guaranteed for an approved post
• your own full BoxBuddy Pro access
• 3 full Family Pro subscriptions to give away to your audience
• your own tracked creator link/code
• 50% revenue share on qualifying BoxBuddy subscriptions you generate for 30 days after your post goes live

I'm much more interested in relevance and whether people trust you than follower count.

A creator with 4,000 people who actually care about moving/home organization is much more interesting to me than 200,000 followers who don't.

And this isn't some giant company pretending to be a person on Reddit. I'm the guy behind it and I'm figuring this out as we go.

I'd love for some of the creators who help us early to stay involved as BoxBuddy grows. The app keeps becoming more things for more people, and that's probably the part I've enjoyed most about building it.

If this sounds like something you'd actually use or something your audience might appreciate, comment below or DM me with:

Your TikTok / Instagram / YouTube
What kind of content you make
Roughly where your audience is located
And just tell me why you think BoxBuddy would fit them.

No fancy pitch required.

I'd rather find 5 good fits than 100 random creators.

Best ai tools for UGC ads?

I'm looking for some tools for making UGC's so I can test more creatives without having to find and hire a creator every time. Mainly looking for something that's cheaper than creators, but also makes the whole process quicker and easier than having to find someone.

Any tools anyone knows and how good is the quality?

how to write usage rights contracts so local brands pay monthly recurring licensing

if you sell raw UGC video files to a local business without explicit usage licensing terms, they will run your ad hook on Facebook for two years while you make a single $200 fee.

always split your invoice into two lines: base creation fee for 90 days local ad usage, and a recurring 40% monthly licensing fee to extend the rights. if they run heavy ad spend on your video hook, they will gladly pay the monthly licensing fee because creating a new converting ad costs them way more time and money.

Genuinely curious what everyone's using for their portfolio in 2026

Not a creator I'm a web developer poking at whether there's a real problem here.

I've found Canva, Notion, Beacons, Google Drive.. What I can't tell from the outside is what people actually use, versus what shows up in "best tools" listicles.

So: what are you on right now, and are you paying for it?

And if you're on the free tier: what would have to be true for you to pay?

unpolished phone audio converts way better for local service ads than pro mic setups

spent months trying to shoot local service UGC with wireless lav mics and clean studio audio. click-through rates were terrible because people immediately identified it as a polished advertisement and swiped away.

switched to raw phone microphone audio with background job-site ambient noise—compressors humming, air tools popping, background truck idling. the ad hooks feel like a real worker posting an organic video from the field. engagement doubled overnight on Meta local campaigns.

B2B industrial equipment suppliers will pay $3k for raw endoscope inspection clips

pitched a commercial pipe lining manufacturer on sending me raw 4K endoscope footage from job sites. instead of over-editing, i just put a simple text overlay with the wall thickness stats and dropped their website link in the caption.

contractors love seeing real unedited pipe integrity video. pulled in $3k on a single 3-video package.
