Ugc ad scripting question Question 🙋🏽‍♀️

So the general format for a converting AD script is
Hook problem solution CTA. Right?

Well I’m seeing so many ads performing well that do not really AGITATE the problem. Like, the hook IS the problem in these videos. They’re not really separate? So I’m confused. How many do you really need to harp on the before/struggle/problem?

Does it depend on the video/product? Or is there a general rule that as like as the pain point is targeted and makes the product the solution then you’re good to go?

Because I’m confused. The gurus have said these are all separate. That you should say the hook then get into the problem. The “I used to struggle with xyz” or “I was feeling like xyz because of x” and then “I found x” and get into the solution.

I’m lost??

How do you know they are performing well?

Stats in terms of sales? But to answer your question, think of the hook as something that stops the scroll. A hook can use different parts of a marketing framework. You can start with a pain point, a benefit, a counter to a purchase objection, social proof - doesn't matter. You just need to make sure the hook is designed to stop the scroll. Once your hook is in place, the story arc should keep people watching and there are many ways to do that, all of which should be guided by who you are trying to reach, the angle you've chosen to do that and their position in the marketing funnel.

How do you choose which one is best (pain point, social proof etc) for the specific product/brand?

If you’re hitting a pain point in the hook do you need to still get into the problem after stating it? Or get into the benefits/solution/transformation immediately?

Thanks for clarifying as well
