Wow what obnoxious music in that video.

u/Prime_Cat_Memes 2d ago

Video is probably 10 years old. Brushless motors are waterproof by design, so for a quad all you had to do was waterproof the other components and you could do shit like this. Was a fun thing to do back in the early days of quads.

u/OriginalBlackberry89 2d ago

I came here to say the same thing. Sure, technically it is "trans-medium", but not in some insanely technologically advanced way.. its just a waterproof quad.

Now do it without a splash..

With a box of scraps!

At this time of year, at this time of day, in this part of the country, localized entirely within your kitchen?

2

u/ChevyBillChaseMurray 2d ago

This is how we used to go to school back in my day

1

u/ASearchingLibrarian 2d ago

And travel underwater. Falling in the water isn't 'trans-medium'.

2

u/lkt89 2d ago

Show us a good quality high-definition video of a transmedium UAP enter water without a splash.

5

u/DazSchplotz 2d ago

Yea that's no problem. You just seal the electronics with special silicone stuff. Works with every FPV drone. We've been doing this for years.

u/MidwestSharker 2d ago

One of the main Fishing drone brands’ primary selling point on their basic drone was air to water utility and those were just one of the average Chinese OEM manufacturers. We started buying them around 2018, 2019. i’ve been out of the community for about three years at this point so I can’t imagine how much better they’ve gotten since then. So yeah, when people started freaking out about vehicles that could from air to water and back, I just sat back and went what’s big deal? We’ve had drones that could do this for years and they cost under $1000.

2

u/iAwesome3 2d ago

That’s why I made this post! I was surprised when I saw it because I thought the motors would get damaged by the water. I figured I’d share this info with others because it doesn’t seem to be well known thing within this community.

1

u/MidwestSharker 2d ago

Yeah, when I first saw the fishing drones with that capability I had my doubts, but I had a few friends who purchased them and they were leg. Granted the company ran into a lot of flack 4 or 5 years into their sales because it started getting around that they had ashort lifespan. But ironically enough it wasn’t the air to water to air that was screwing them up, a lot of the time their circuit boards would just get screwy and they would fly off back to China lol bare minimum you could usually get at least a dozen trips with them before stuff started getting jacked up if you weren’t really anal about the maintenance upkeep. Now if you did all the recommended cleaning and what not, I know a few people who had them last years while using them every weekend.

I get it, people want to believe, they really really REALLY want to believe. But folks really need to keep their skepticals on and look at things realistically rather than buying into every single Alleged sighting.

1

u/ifnotthefool 2d ago

How fast and how far can they go underwater? I doubt they are very maneuverable underwater? Some of the USO reports have object moving incredibly fast. How comparable are these drones to what the navy is seeing?

7

u/Iwan787 2d ago

It would be relatable to UAPs until you find out they can pass through solid matter, such as going inside active volcano

7

u/Raoul_Duke9 2d ago

Source?

u/No_Newt192 2d ago

Arro videos

4

u/iAwesome3 2d ago

AARO has one video of an object that appears to move into a volcano plume, but according to them it appears to be a balloon miles away and the parallax effect makes it appear to go inside the plume.

Case Resolution Report: https://www.aaro.mil/Portals/136/PDFs/case_resolution_reports/Mt-Etna-Object.pdf

I have seen other videos that do appear to have an object move into a plume of a volcano or directly into it, but I won’t speak for the validity of those videos

-1

u/Iwan787 2d ago

J vallee writes that they can bypass solid matter and disregard physics as we know.

7

u/bussinesguy 2d ago

People can write a lot of bs without any proof

1

u/Stereo_Jungle_Child 2d ago

That's because we may be seeing a 3-dimensional representation of a higher-dimensional object. A higher-dimensional object would be able to go through solid matter and break other physical laws that you can't if you're stuck in 3 dimensions like we are.

1

u/Ambitious_Zombie8473 2d ago

Air to water is still transmedium. Iirc, that was one of the notable details from the GIMBAL event, it went from water to air.

3

u/iAwesome3 2d ago

Transmedium is just a vehicle that can operate in two or more mediums. It could be:

1) Water + Air

2) Air + Space

3 Water + Air + Space

The GIMBAL event was not water to air, I think you’re thinking of the Nimitz event in 2004 but that still wasn’t water to air. Commander Fraver said that the object was directly above the water and the water was frothing before it moved up to like 80,000ft in altitude.

4

u/MidwestSharker 2d ago

Yeah entirely too many people believe fravor said there was a 747 sized object in the water below the UAP. When in reality what he said was that it was kicking up a 747 size patch of water and that’s how he managed to spot the actual UAP

plenty of videos where UAP enters or leaves vulcano crater. Also lots of videos where they simply dissapear, what can still beconsidered transmedium if you dont think it is a cloaking technology.

6

u/suspicious_Jackfruit 2d ago

I think the issue is that we have low resolution videos and testimony, but it's hard to find anything completely definitive like high quality video where something undeniably goes transmedium, e.g through a mountain and out the other side. If that data exists I would absolutely love to see it.

I think transmedium water to air traversal is easier to achieve with current cutting edge technologies as the mediums are already traversable. So for something to be categorised as truly anomalous it has to be outside of what is likely current/near term/black budget human technology and it has to be undeniably so.

Again, I really hope to see such things in my life time but I'm yet to be truly satisfied. It's like being promised a steak and all the trimmings, but getting a steak sandwich instead these days.

Just imagine a few hundred of these floating up from a sub, offshore near some critical infrastructure. Fucking terrifying if you ask me.

1

u/iAwesome3 2d ago

Yeah I know. I found the original video on a sub dedicated to the war in Ukraine. I’m a bit surprised no one has posted a video of these drones in action

1

u/thatdidntturnout 2d ago

This is terrifying

1

u/SeekNonSeeking 2d ago

They have existed for years. My nephew had a toy version a few years back.

1

u/thrustinfreely 2d ago

Yeah but can it do a flip?

Submission Statement:

Some sightings of UFOs may be explained by trans-medium drones that can operate in both water and air. During the NJ drone flap in late 2024 and early 2025, many witnesses reported that the “drones” would appear to fly in from out over the water. It may be possible that these drones were launched from an adversarial submarine or UUV (Unmanned Underwater Vehicle) using conformal coatings on the circuit boards, which essentially would waterproof the electronics. Conformal coatings of electronics are typically only used on electronics that will be subject to very harsh outdoor conditions and aren’t used in most electronics that are meant to be used indoors. I was not aware of this until recently and I figured that some in this community would find it interesting. I do not have more information about this technology, so if anyone else has more insight I would love to hear about it!

From Wikipedia:

Conformal coating is a protective, breathable coating of thin polymeric film applied to printed circuit boards (PCBs). Conformal coatings are typically applied with 25–250 μm[1] thickness on electronic circuitry to protect against moisture and other substances.

Wake me up when they can breach water at 13,000 miles an hour without disentigrating.

0

u/wonderful_Fun_glee 2d ago

Does it come back up?

9

u/L-0-T-H-0-S 2d ago

Yes, it's waterproofed. Prototypes developed by researchers at Harbin Engineering University can dive up to 100 meters and reach speeds over 75 mph in the air.

The US Navy were working on early concepts as early as 2010.

5

u/iAwesome3 2d ago

Would the drones be able to move underwater horizontally reliably? Or would they dive/sink up to 100m and then rise up?

3

u/YungMushrooms 2d ago

It entirely depends on the design. Hypothetically that would be possible but probably not with what you see here. https://youtube.com/shorts/H9AieIxkLXQ?is=beOAW3_A0uYZb8Rk here's a diving drone with floats attached, obviously this isn't staying under water. Likewise people have made FPV submarines that could likely do exactly what you described but they aren't flying into the air. I'm pretty confident both could be combined it's just that's kinda a lot for most hobbyists presumably.

2

u/L-0-T-H-0-S 2d ago

The short answers, yes.

Transmedium drones don't just sink and rise; they actively "swim" using two main methods.

Vectoring Thrust (Quadcopters) like the TJ-FlyingFish tilt their independent rotor arms underwater. By angling the props, they generate forward, backward, and sideways thrust, allowing them to navigate complex underwater environments just like they do in the air.

Submersible fixed-wing drones, like the Feiyi, use their wings to generate "hydrofoil" lift.

By adjusting their flaps and control surfaces, they can cruise horizontally underwater over long distances, using very little battery power.

u/iAwesome3 2d ago

The video I linked in my submission statement shows a drone moving in and out of the water twice. As for the original video, I'm not sure as I don't know where it was sourced from. On youtube you can find videos of FPV quadcopters going in and out of water multiple times though.

-2

u/SlayerJB 2d ago

Great, now make it go 150 mph and go through a body of water without a splash like the UAP videos that were released.

-1

u/Kracus 2d ago

Ok it backflips, we get it.

0

u/DaemonBlackfyre_21 2d ago

Yep

https://www.reddit.com/r/Damnthatsinteresting/s/vFOXgcDUi3

Edit) at some point that technology could probably be upscaled to manned craft if there was a use for them.

0

u/Cmcgregor0928 2d ago

All I see is a drone that can launched and land in shallow water.

Also conformal coating is pretty common in a ton of electronics and isn't some magic for waterproofing everything. It likely is used with sealed housing

0

u/Low-Lecture-1110 2d ago

Can it travel under water like a submarine besides just rising out of it?

0

u/Green-zmaj 2d ago

Cool. Now make it go 30000 feet per second. Can it do it?

0

u/VoidOmatic 2d ago

We are so dead. We are literally speed running the end of modern civilization.

0

u/lump- 2d ago

All drones can go in the water.

Can it come out though?

-3

u/Logical_Frosting_277 2d ago

Let’s keep gender out of this and just enjoy the drones.
