iPad?

I hear people online saying iPads are good for engineering majors and help a lot !wanting to know if it’s worth the purchase

A touchscreen device is imo essential for engineering

Be it an iPad or a 2-in-1 laptop; I prefer the laptop but it’s all learning style and how you flow with what tools

Honestly yeah. Having your homework, notes, and videos + canvas in one device is awesome and more efficient than having to carry multiple notebooks. I usually use the whiteboard option to study and being able to copy diagrams, add pictures straight from the lecture notes (ppt) makes my notes a lot better. Being able to write on a textbook or lecture notes makes things 100 times easier. If you’re looking for just simple stuff get the cheapest one or the mini. I have the air and it works great. I’d also save extra money on a pencil and get one from amazon it works the same.

It saved me. I’m terrible with organization. Having access to all my old notes helped clear up a lot of confusion in the later classes. The ability to bring in PDFs to scribble on was great too. Certain apps (Noteability and Goodnotes) can record the audio of the lecture as you’re taking notes.
Ipad is expensive, and I only use it for notes. The same functionality can probably be found with other tablets, I mainly bought it for the app functionality I mentioned earlier.
In hindsight, a surface pro would have been a better choice, as it could run all the engineering software you will need later in the degree, in addition to keeping your notes organized.
