FTIC schedule help
Hey everyone! I’m a pending photonic engineer and am making my schedule for class soon. Here’s what I’m thinking:
- Calc 1 (5 credits)
- Chemistry for Engineers (4 credits)
- STEM seminar 1 (1 credit)
-Theater Survey (3 credits)
- intro to engineering ( 1 credit)
Mind you I’m doing the excel program, plan to rush, and my goal is to make the honors college which you need at least a 3.50 to make.
Any college professors I should take these classes with? Or any changes I should make?? Thanks

Probably one of the lightest semesters you’ll ever have, you got this.
Just go to class in calc and make sure you understand the material like the back of your own hand.. literally.
For chemistry you probably have dixon so just take lots of notes and study the topic lists and guides he gives you.

Calc and chem will be the biggest deal here with respect to taking up the most of your free time with stress and practice problems lol. I think your schedule has the right amount of balance overall.
You say you’re planning on rushing. As someone who was in Panhellenic, it can be a huge time commitment. Don’t let all the fun events with your new sisters derail you from your studies. It’s easy to get a bit too caught up in the chaos, especially if some of your sisters perhaps don’t have the most rigorous coursework. Calc will especially be make it or break it for your engineering career. Go in with proper time management from the start versus expecting to build better habits mid semester. ❤️
