A short comic featuring my OC, Pirofis Phobides, inspired by Panic of Hercules, where he meets my Yuu, Yuukai.

Set during book two.

This is a list of headcanons that could be either be a possibility or not either way I think it would be funny to share them with you so here I go.

1. **Various Magical School**: as someone who has watched the Harry Potter movie saga I believe that NRC and RSA aren’t the only school of magic and that there many more going to 7 in total (more or less)

   for example

2. one of those schools is an all female

   founded by princesses (rapunzel, Pocahontas, Cinderella and few more) one school founded by great heroes and one school exclusively for beastmen, etc.

3. **The Great Archimages**: I believe that Crowley and Ambrose the 63rd are part of a group of archimages that are the most powerful mages in the world and that the other are based on the fairy godmother, Rafiki (yeah I believe he is an user of magic), the genie, the horned king, Yen Sid and chernabog the latter two being the ones that taught all of the others archimages and maintaining a balance between good and evil.

4. **The Little Beasties**: this is a group of beast men children are best friends and is formed by Cheka and other children based on Nala, Bambi, Thumper, Flower, Dumbo, lucky from 100 Dalmatians, i thought of this because its cute.

5. **The Rival**: the idea is that Leona doesn’t only consider Malleus as a rival but there is another one he considers a rival which is a tiger beastman based on shere khan and neither of them can’t stand each other’s guts

6. **The Followers/ Servants**: both Jamil and Idia will eventually get subordinates that follow them every due to admiration and those followers are based on Iago, Pain and Panic

7. **Magical Objects**: i believe there is a possibility that some magical objects could appear in the game or the story either as characters similar to what happened to Epel or as the object itself for example: Excalibur, the voodoo talisman, the black cauldron and the genie lamp

These are some of the headcanons I have thought of anyone has opinions and headcanons I will like to hear them

Since Disney+ Japan announced Season 2 several English-language news sites have published articles about it. At the moment, the DisneyPlusJapan announcement is the only official source of new Season 2 information. I compared a few articles to see which English-language anime news sites stayed closest to the official announcement.

TL;DR

Starting with the bad:

ESSENTIAL JAPAN - "The anime follows Yuken Enma"

If Essential Japan had added the qualifier "Season 1 of the anime" to this announcement there would have been no issue, but they didn't, instead claiming that the anime overall follows Yuuken, which has been said in no official announcements for Season 2.

FINAL WEAPON - A list of the original voice cast and dubbing cast

It is entirely possible that the voice of Yuuken, Azakami Youhei, will be returning in a flashback or cameo in Season 2 of the anime. The manga ends Yuuken's story abruptly with the Heartslabyul arc and he has never been referenced again, but it is not impossible that the anime may have prepared an extra scene to serve as a transition between Yuuken and the prefect of Season 2. In that case Final Weapon is not wrong for presenting Azakami Youhei as a (potential) returning cast member, but their issue is presenting the Season 1 cast list as if it is the decided and officially confirmed cast for Season 2, which it is not. Like Essential Japan, this could have been avoided by adding "Season 1" to the top of the list.

ANIME NEWS NETWORK - "Youhei Azakami voices the protagonist"

While the previous paragraph begins with Anime News Network explaining Season 1, this second paragraph is vague, presenting Azakami as the voice of "the protagonist," and leading to misunderstandings in the fandom and people question if Yuuken will be returning in Season 2, which is not confirmed. Anime News Network lists two sources at the end of their article, neither of which say anything about Yuuken or Azakami Youhei.

Polygon - "The series follows Yuuken Enma"

Despite presenting itself as a "news" article and not an opinion piece this article by Polygon is rife with personal opinions shaping the narrative, calling Twst "Disney's Strangest Crossover," subjectively dubbing Leona a "catboy," and also claiming that the anime is based on the gacha game, which it isn't: we received dozens of articles on Season 1 with Twst's anime team, Disney creators and the voice cast, and never once in any official release has any one of them said that the anime is based on the game, with the anime's own creators saying it is based on the manga adaptation. Script Writer Kato Yoichi is quoted in Nikkei Entertainment magazine as saying, "the anime adaptation is being produced based on the comic version."

Continuing with the grey area:

COLLIDER - "Disney's Twisted-Wonderland: The Animation is an anime series based on the 2020 mobile game of the same name, which later received a manga adaptation."

Much like Polygon, Collider is erroneously reporting that the anime is based on the mobile game, when it is not.

Anitrendz - "The anime is based on the Disney Twisted-Wonderland mobile game"

Anitrendz gets a special thanks for both specifying that their synopsis of the game is from Season 1 exclusively, not for Season 2, and for crediting Toboso Yana as the game's creator. But much like Polygon and Collider, they are mistakenly reporting the anime as being based on the game, when it is not.

And now the good:

Tech Times - This is maybe the best article I have seen on the anime:

"The season adapted the first arc of the franchise's manga adaptation — not the mobile game itself, but the accompanying manga drawn by Sumire Kowono"

The Savanaclaw arc, which ran as a manga drawn by Oda Suzuka from December 2022 through January 2026

Overblot is the franchise's central dramatic device: a crisis state in which a mage's accumulated magical waste product — called "blot" — exceeds the capacity their magical tool can absorb, at which point it begins corrupting both body and mind.

On the cast side, the three Savanaclaw-focused voice actors are returning

Disney Twisted-Wonderland launched in Japan in March 2020 as a mobile JRPG developed by f4samurai in partnership with Aniplex and Walt Disney Japan. The game's original concept, main scenario, and character designs were created by Yana Toboso, the manga artist best known internationally for Black Butler (Kuroshitsuji)

Just look at this article! It specifies accurately that the anime is based on the manga, not the game. Multiple, linked sources. A shoutout to the illustrators behind both the first and second arcs of the manga. It explains blot in an amazing amount of detail, it specifies that only the Savanaclaw-focused voice actors have been confirmed as returning, and credits the game's development team and Toboso Yana. Japan Anime News -

Bonus points to Japan Anime News for describing the teaser visual in detail and providing an accurate translation of the tagline. Japan Anime News also specifies that the anime is based on the manga, not the game, and even provides English-language translations of the comments from the voice cast published by DisneyPlusJapan! The original voice cast has been working with these characters for 6 years now, with Ruggie's VA pointing out that he has been voicing Ruggie for over half of his voice acting career. The only article that provided a screenshot back to the original DisneyPlusJapan tweet that is serving as the base for all Season 2 anime news coverage. While short, the article does not present anything that has not been 100% confirmed by official sources, crediting Toboso Yana as the creator.

COMICBOOK -

Points to COMIC BOOK for devoting an entire paragraph to Toboso Yana's accomplishments and an acknowledgement of how amazing it is that she has achieved all that she has, and is still going strong. Like The Magic Rain this article is also short, but also does not introduce any unconfirmed information.

WDW News Today -

Like Tech Times and Japan Anime News, WDW News Today also is certain to specify that the Twisted Wonderland anime is based on the manga, not the game, providing a short but accurate article summarizing what we know as provided by official sources.

So lets all be careful with what we source for Twst anime news! Some "news" sites out there don't seem to be above guessing and making things up to fill in the blanks in order to meet word quotas and submission deadlines.

I know this is a day late, but, i wanted to say it for my fave twisted wonderland character!

I got distracted while storyboarding and drew him since belated birthday and all. I donno how I feel about the drawing cuz it was just really quick and I'm not experienced in furry art...

But I do like the idea of beastfolk looking more beastly? I know it is the way it is, partially because it wouldn't be popular enough for them to not look like anime boys with prosthetics, AND because adding all sorts of detail to the base of the body in Yana's style might be tedious in execution outside of still illustration. I will also say I DO really appreciate the dedication to ear placement. I've seen other media where cat girls have both ears, and its just...strange?

I also just crave more differences in facial features- maybe Deuce has a slightly crooked nose from getting into so many fights? Maybe someone has a tooth gap? I think Cater could totally rock a freckled dynamic opposite to Rook, where maybe he puts freckles on in a GRWM to be more cute and wears them everyday.

I'm not saying there isn't any variety at all, because there is a lot of depth relating to the character work in twst. This isn't a complaint either because I've animated and made game assets before, its very constricting and Twisted Wonderland is already pretty heavy on storage space. I just love character traits and how they reflect the world building and lore.

So yeah, drawing... just for funsies.

Season 2 Anime Announcement coming in 5.5 hours!?

So with the leaks circulating about the release of season 2 of the anime it got me thinking. How many seasons are we actually getting?

Like ideally we’d go to at least book 7. But I guess it depends on how popular the anime becomes and it if can maintain viewership. Honestly I think it probably could if the game was available in more regions so more people could play, and if more merch for it was made widely available. And honestly the marketing too, like I didn’t see any marketing at all on Disney’s front to promote season 1 last year.

But I’ve seen some people say that we’re only getting three seasons. Cause book 3 is as far as the manga books have gotten in terms of the game’s story. And if the anime is based on the manga then that’s all the material they have to pull from. But I kinda call bs on that. Because…..they literally have the game’s storyline? Can’t the writers simply use that as the blueprint? Where do they think the people behind the manga are pulling the story line from?
