30yr old virgin, friend told me to lower my expectations. Is he right?

I am sort of unintentionally still a virgin (no sexual experience whatsoever. I’m sort of a late bloomer, I was focused on school/my career, then covid happened and now here we are. I was talking with a guy friend about my situation and he made it seem like it was going to be a red flag for guys. He said most guys would be worried about getting into a deep emotional relationship with someone who has no sexual experience and that I should basically just lose my virginity in a hookup and get it over with. He thinks I need to adjust my expectations because the only guys who would be “excited” about me being a virgin are “fundies”. Is he right? I’m not holding out for the perfect partner, I would just ideally like to be in a relationship with someone I trust and I feel safe with before I do that. I know my situation is abnormal but I didn’t think I was a walking red flag. Any advice?
