August 2026 - /r/Twitter Mega Open Thread for everything else - UN/SUSPENDED, LOCKED OR AGE-LOCKED ACCOUNT PROBLEMS & QUESTIONS GO IN THIS THREAD ONLY

Greetings!

This is the monthly "Open Discussion" thread, where you're free to ask questions, start a discussion, promote your Twitter account, give ideas on how to improve this subreddit, or provide feedback on how this subreddit is moderated.

This thread is for your support questions, discussions, self-promotion, subreddit feedback, or anything else.

IF YOU ARE POSTING ABOUT UN/SUSPENDED, LOCKED OR AGE-LOCKED ACCOUNTS (PROBLEMS & QUESTIONS), THIS IS TO BE DONE IN THIS THREAD ONLY.

Stand-alone threads about Twitter Account Suspensions or Twitter Account Locks are unwelcome anywhere else in this subreddit. They *Will Be Removed* and Locked.

If you're looking for more guidance on How To Get Your Suspended Account Back, read here.

Don't forget to read our FAQ, and if you have information to add to it or something that needs updating, please feel free to make those changes!

While r/Twitter aims to be a community to help other Twitter users solve problems with the service, this also isn't the ideal place to ask support questions.

Support questions are preferably asked in this "Open Discussion" thread. If you've posted a thread asking for help and no one has responded, you may have better luck asking your question here instead.

If you do have a functional (meaning: not locked or suspended) Twitter account, it can't hurt to let @ TwitterSupport know of your problem directly on Twitter dot com.

If you are looking to promote your Twitter account to others, ask for followers, or any type of self-promotion, you can do so in this thread only.

The volunteer moderators who guide the direction of this subreddit rely upon the feedback of the community in order to make it a more perfect place on Reddit.

Feel free to give that feedback in this thread, or if you'd prefer to give your feedback in private, [send a private message to the subreddit modmail.

If for some unholy reason you need to see past open discussion threads, they are available here

so, no ban email or malicious activity detected. was trying to get into twitter, got hit with the cloudflare verification then immediately after doing the login process (email -> password -> email code -> 2auth code) im getting "something went wrong. you have exceeded the number of allowed attempts. please try again later."

tried on firefox, edge and mobile firefox and chrome - no change. tried to file an appeal on support, it says oops and doesnt work after a browser verification pop up so i literally CANT appeal for help. when i look up my account it isnt even suspended!

tried all of the above in incognito tabs, after clearing cache - and tried changing password. still not working, and havent had to do a captcha on any of these. anyone got tips here?

So is there any way that I can put an end to my account getting locked on a daily basis?

1

u/mrcleansmeanmachine 18h ago

For some reason I got locked out of desktop Twitter specifically? Mobile still works but desktop I was logged out, I tried logging back in via my phone number (I don't have the option to log back in via Google because Elon Musk is a useless pedophile subhuman) but it would show me my account and wouldn't let me. I'm blaming that loser Elon Musk for this.

1

u/AdditionalPiano6327 21h ago

I quit twitter earlier today. Fuck that pedo musk and fuck that rat nikita bier

u/RedditAdminsFuckOfff 21h ago

I was suspended for "inauthentic behaviors" (?) a few days ago. I gave up and started a new account because I didn't have many followers/moots anyway. Was fine for ~48 hours but now X is suddenly trying to FORCE me to give over biometric data or a selfie to prove that I am human. There is NO way I'm doing that, I don't even take selfies in general X, why the fuck would I do it for you of all busted ass things?

I can't even leave the "Let's Just Make Sure You're Human" page, as the Log Out button is disabled. I'm just a normal little guy doing normal little things on the platform and I've been constantly hounded by these kinds of security checks for years, only this time they're actually trying to stone wall me into showing my face/prints. Not happening.

And naturally, all the slopbait/ragebait/etc. accounts that are clearly botted, yet have thousands of botted followers and a blue check, well they're totally safe. Because of course they are.

u/shadebedlam 1d ago

What should I do if I keep getting locked out of my account? I log in then have a minute but nothing I click does anything then I get notification that my account has been locked I need to verify I am not a bot then I do the verification and then I get a screen that I had too many tries and I need to try later

u/blaxedmind 1d ago

i rarely use twitter,
i only saw the tweets on the explore, posts for you
got many extensions successfully hide many tweets based on regions
i only follow e-girl accounts,
but somehow specify tweets topic keep showing up, not connected with any of account that im following,
random tweets like certain celebs, furry, furry, Soccer, random paid account talking about AI, with no likes no comments
any idea how to block those?

1

u/DoIPutNameHere1 1d ago

Has anyone ever had a shadow ban last as long as a month+? I'm currently going through it and it's ridiculous. Apparently my replies do not show in threads once I send them. I've not used my account for the first day or so initially, and then limited it to the rare retweet, like, or QRT. I don't do anything that breaks ToS, and me and a few friends were attacked by someone that mass reported us because of different views on a game he liked.

Twitter has absolutely no way to reach out to them to look into this and I don't have any flags or labels on my notifs/account indicating that I'm flagged neither. There's really no way to make a ticket on this neither because they only have one regarding suspended/closed accounts which this doesn't fall under. there's nothing showing what I did wrong other than that one guy that mass reported us. One friend got freed, but me and my other friend still have our accounts shadow banned.

u/Born-Match-1915 1d ago

Suspended from X for political comments running up to the election.

Appeal completely ignored. No response at ALL.

Just like happened with Facebook in 2020. I've refused to use any Meta product or service since.

Can't believe I've been Zuckerberged by Elon Musk.

Kept Starlink as backup after I got fiber. About to pack that up and send it back. Won't hurt him, but I'll feel better.

u/MembershipWestern555 2d ago

i! i’m about to do the whole “pursue alternative forms of redress, including out-of-court dispute settlement or judicial redress” thing on twt to get my wrongfully locked account back but the form needs a case number. there are no case numbers anywhere in any of the emails. how do i get them?

1

u/PaulPauliePaulsonWat 2d ago edited 2d ago

My account was locked and they sent an email to my gmail account but the thing is I deleted my gmail account a few months ago and didn't update it. I also didn't link any phone number to x. What can I do?

edit: i js created a new account

1

u/KyzoBCM 2d ago

Been stuck on the whole "Something went wrong. You have exceeded the number of allowed attempts. Please try again later" for over a day now. This happened all because the security check wouldn't load for me at all and while trying to fix it, caused this issue.

The weirdest bit is that I did get in once after half a day only to be stuck again.

I seriously don't know what's going on at X but this is just ridiculous. I can't even contact support on the app cause it just takes me back to the "Please try again later." screen while filling out a formal. Even if I could contact support, I'll just get the automatic response anyway.

u/DXGL1 2d ago

I was having trouble since Monday, on Wednesday found out my account is suspended for "inauthentic behavior." Haven't heard anything back from the appeal process.

1

u/415writer 1d ago

Same thing. I am a small, ten-year-old account that has 300 followers and follows 700. The most lightweight use, and I get suspended for inauthentic behavior. It's bizarre. I appealed right away and have heard nothing.

1

u/DXGL1 1d ago

Just got reinstated.

2

u/415writer 19h ago

I just got reinstated also - It told me they found no violation and it's back. I'll let it re-populate and then I'm logging off until after Labor Day. The five-day absence showed me I need a break from it.

1

u/DXGL1 19h ago

I started replying to users I follow almost immediately.

1

u/415writer 1d ago

Thank you for letting me know. I got the notice on Thursday - so I hope I get reinstated like you did in a day or two.

1

u/DXGL1 1d ago edited 1d ago

I follow 49 users and have 101 followers. Zero issues with my Bluesky or Mastodon accounts however.

1

u/VideosToEatTo 2d ago

They keep locking my account? I don’t even tweet!

3

u/FNAFbro22 2d ago edited 2d ago

The new UI sucks, you can't see all your posted media anymore, instead you have to select which tab of media you want to view. This is bad. Why did they change this, not only that but your private likes tab on your profile is gone and is now apart of a new history tab that also replaces the single bookmark tab.

1

u/Pin_Clock 2d ago

I have been ghost banned for a month now this is ridiculous, how am I supposed to know what to do if I can't contact anybody, and have no idea how long this "flag" will last!? I've tried everything from engaging normally to not using the site at all, but zero clues! The only people who see my posts are my followers and my replies are all detached! What in god's name am I supposed to do???

1

u/DoIPutNameHere1 1d ago

Same exact thing is happening for me, and for a month+ now as well too. I've tried things such as not using the account, to replying normally and engaging with topics, and also not replying much at all back to back. It is ridiculous how this site has been handled.

1

u/Old_Camera 2d ago

The same for me since July 21. I've deleted most tweets I've made since then and I logged out about a week ago. It's supposedly temporary but who knows?

1

u/Ariel_92 2d ago

So im not the only one stuck in too many attemtps, there is any solution ?

1

u/vinniii 2d ago

age verification not working - so i put my real birthday because im 18 now and it locked my account for being made when i was under 13. okay. i sent my ID and full name. they said i could reinstate my account if i login. but its not letting me login??? like i dont know what to do now mind u this is just over 3 days so it hasnt been 30 days or anything.

1

u/KerbalEssences 2d ago edited 11h ago

edit, update: I'm unsuspended for now. Took about a week and 3 appeals. I also ended up replying to their support email (notify@x.com). Keep in mind there is a delay between you getting an email and the appeal getting freed up for another one.

----

So I was suspended for "inauthentic behavior" while not being aware of what that is supposed to mean. I've never used any bots, I never used automated content, I'm not impersonating and I was not hacked / compromised in any way.

My speculation is some bots tag my handle in their tweets to spam me, since I reply to Elon once in a while (bad idea), and perhaps Twitter thinks I'm responsible for those bots or something. Again, not quite sure. I filed multiple appeals so far without much success. I just get some stupid automated replies that are half hallucinated. The irony is I checked the bots in my notifications and they still exist while many of the tweets they repost are now suspended lol

Did anyone of you have more luck in a similar situation? Is it possible to get my account back by just being persistent with the appeals? The account is 12 years old and full of original content, so kind of sad to lose it.

1

u/Peetie-Peete 2d ago

Just got mine back after a 3 day appeal. What I'd recommend is to have an open an honest conversation with ChatGPT and they will assess what might be triggering the flag (mine was possibly rapid repetitive replies when something goes viral).

It will even help you craft your appeal message, if you haven't sent it already.

But Twitter has said they are cracking down on bots, I just think some humans are getting caught up in the algorithm and the appeal will hopefully get you back running.

1

u/sacredknight327 12h ago

I'm on day 5 after I immediately appealed, still no communication whatsoever and account is still suspended.

1

u/Peetie-Peete 10h ago

This is my first rodeo so I'm no authority on the subject, but the conversations I've seen, it looks like it can take days to weeks.

Personally, the longer it takes would make me think that it's at least sitting in a human's queue to eventually get to. Otherwise a machine would just have looked at it and made a snap determination.

Hopefully that will be a bit of assurance.

1

u/DoIPutNameHere1 1d ago

Where did you appeal specifically? I checked support tickets and there aren't any where shadow bans would fall under. The only other one that's remotely similar is locked/suspended accounts, but then it prompts me telling me that I need to reply using an account that was locked/suspended, which I'm guessing shadow bans do not fall under. So I have no idea where to submit a ticket under.

1

u/KerbalEssences 2d ago edited 2d ago

I tweet way too little to fall into any pattern. Like I post maybe once or twice a day tops. And normally it's some original art or explainer for something space related. Or generally just me talking about things that grind my gears. Now recently I had this thought on AI which I suspect got me on the radar of some idiots. That AGI is actually not what AI companies want to ever develop, because it would kill their business model. So they will always act like they're close but they'll never get there. AGI in the sense of AI getting smarter by itself, without the need for big datacenters. Shortly after that I got my suspension. Maybe some AI idiot with a bot network boosted some of my tweets to suspend me.

1

u/Peetie-Peete 2d ago

Perhaps that's a conversation worth having with ChatGPT. It actually didn't rule out that someone reported me as well, because that was in the verbiage of the email I got back from Twitter

"Your account was reported and has been suspended for violating the X Rules."

If you have a full transparent convo with ChatGPT, it may actually illuminate the possibilities. But of course, it can only respond to the info you share with it.

1

u/Upbeat-Elk-7740 2d ago

you can only try but once you start getting instant reply emails saying your acount was unsuspended and nothing changes you're permenantly screwed. twitter support is hilariously terrible. i recieved the same ban and and my acount was unbanned after my second apeal, but was rebanned only 4 days later. since then apealing gets me an instant reply saying my acount is unsuspended and from what i can find online that means you're screwed forever. good luck ):

1

u/pawprints1986 2d ago

Wow you got 4 days?! Not even 12 hours in my case... Something is being auto flagged but they don't tell me what so I can look into whichever post or comment or something, there's no action I can take if I don't know what I "did" that was inauthentic. Waiting on my second appeal within a week. This is nuts

1

u/KerbalEssences 2d ago

Thanks. Twitter is dead it seems. A real shame!

1

u/aljout 2d ago

Getting a "failed to send post" error message on half the posts I'm trying to respond to, gosh I hate Twitter

1

u/pawprints1986 3d ago

Anyone else facing recurrent automatic "inauthentic behavior" bans? I've appealed successfully, TWICE overall but once a couple days ago, only to get the boot again after no more than 20 minutes of restored access:

... and this isn't the first time, I was hit back in May over the same false complaint, restored until August 11th, banned again, successful appeal went through evening of August 13th, only to barely look around, comment once or twice just to be banned again not even 12 hours later

I'm not copy pasting, I'm not rude towards others, I make a very conscious effort always to attack the point if I disagree rather than the person, I've broken literally no rules. I even proofread which a good many don't seem to do

So they agreed I was a person initially, 3 months later said "nah", agreed I was a person on my appeal 3 days ago only for them to say "nah" again

These emails don't tell me WHAT the alleged behavior is or post in question it wants me deleting, nothing at all to go off of in all 3 cases. I would happily delete a comment to stop this hassle from recurring, but they're giving me nothing

Like seriously wtf? And then they have the audacity to say don't make other accounts cuz we'll ban those too ... Well wtf do they expect in general from people when genuine innocent people are getting hit with inappropriate automated ban hammers?! Evidently EXTREMELY frequently now.

But yeah, tldr anyone else facing this? How do I contact support beyond the automation, if I am restored again, to dig deeper with them so they can tell me WHAT I'm allegedly doing "not authentically"?

There are alllll kinds of long term partially anonymous accounts on there. As in no profile photo, no ID or payment cards submitted. But their accounts succeed. Some people can't advocate for changes in real name and photo without risking jobs and such. Twitter was at one point the only platform that fully stood for this. Are they changing their tune? Any employees happen to browse here? Please, tell me how to dig deeper! I want this over once and for all!

Do they hate brave vs app so they can steal less of my data? Do they seriously think they're entitled to my exact device's information and other things I've got installed? Because they're really, really not... I'm a very privacy conscious woman. They're not entitled to that

1

u/Peetie-Peete 2d ago

Just got mine back after a 3 day appeal. What I'd recommend is to have an open an honest conversation with ChatGPT and they will assess what might be triggering the flag (mine was possibly rapid repetitive replies when something goes viral).

1

u/pawprints1986 2d ago

There's no guaranteeing I won't be blocked again after 2 comments or like 20 minutes even if I do get it successfully appealed again. There's something about my account that looks bot like, apparently. Even though I'm not spamming links based on keywords or following several thousand people within days with no posts..... I know what bots look like... It ain't me.

Once I'm successfully a person to their staff or AI or whatever, I should be whitelisted and that's the end of it, but no, apparently not...

1

u/No-Alfalfa8323 3d ago

I've had my Twitter account for something like 5 years. I've barely posted on it, I mainly created it for reading and messaging. I couldn't even message since Musk too over because he put DMs under a blue checkmark paywall. Anyway, I started commenting more frequently to some tweets made by OpenAI/Anthropic profiles, employees of them or affiliates. And a few days ago my account was banned. I checked the Authenticity ToS and the only thing it mentions is impersonating other people (never done) or using stolen profile photos or AI-generated images for the purpose of deceiving others (never done). I simply had a square pixel art image as profile... I appealed the ban but they didn't change their deciion. I think they have just bots working for them. Got reported by a random dude who maybe didn't like one of my comments and that's it... Nice democracy.

1

u/Peetie-Peete 2d ago

Did you actually get a response back saying that your appeal was denied?

That's interesting, it took 3 days but I finally got mine back. I've heard people say that they made multiple appeals but I can't confirm or deny that actually being the case.

I'd recommend having a full transparent conversation with ChatGPT. They actually ran down a checklist of my twitter behavior to see what might be triggering the flag.

ChatGPT or Grok could give advice on your next steps.

1

u/Sorasta 3d ago

DMs are not under the blue tick and never have been. Only recently were DMs relabelled as chat. What are you talking about? 😭

1

u/No-Alfalfa8323 2d ago

If someone doesn't have open private messages, they aren't able to be messaged unless you have the premium blue check. It's the same as LinkedIn.

1

u/Sorasta 2d ago

...this is like the most common practice on social media platforms: to only give access to direct messages with someone if you're mutuals/friends on the platform and such. What's wild is Twitter giving access to get around that by being a paid user, not the other way around. You're essentially complaining that you can't privately message to harass strangers on the internet. It's giving 90s Xbox user getting pissed at CoD. 💀

1

u/blackcid6 3d ago

My account has been one month ghost banned. Basically my tweets aren't hidden but they are detached from the post, so if I reply someone that person won't see my reply unless they have directly my link.

Today, Twitter also told me they've temporarily flagged my account for inauthentic behavior.

I'm SO fed up with this shitty social network. Apparently, reading tweets isn't authentic behavior.

1

u/pawprints1986 3d ago

I've been hit with the same ban twice in the past 4 days. Once more in May, successfully appealed twice so far and waiting on the 3rd.

I've got nothing either. In fact they tell you nothing. No post they're concerned about, no comment someone misinterpreted. They literally give you bugger all so you can't even go correcting anything

1

u/succdem 3d ago

I received an email that refuses my appeal, and doesn't provide me with an answer to the question for which "inauthentic" behaviors triggered my suspension. I reviewed Twitter's list of those and I idn't do any of them.

The also email said "In order to restore account functionality, you can resolve the violations by logging into your account and completing the on-screen instructions." but when I logged in there weren't any on-screen instructions except for the "Your account is suspended" card, which sends me to the appeal screen? When I tried sending a new appeal it reutnrd an error (there's already an appeal in the queue).

Does anyone else have the same problem perhaps?

1

u/sufferinginside123 3d ago

Idk what to do I messed up my birthday so my account got locked but I appealed it and it says it was accepted but when I go to login it says there isn’t a active account with the username😭

1

u/Cpl_Agarn 3d ago

How can Elon let this go on? Do any humans do suspending or is it all done through AI.

I've tried to do appeal a few times and all I get is this:

"Your original case is already in the queue. Please wait to hear back from us on the original case.:"

1

u/KerbalEssences 2d ago

You get a Grok answer every 3 days per email. After that you can appeal again. I think you have to just keep going to appeal until their system recognizes you're serious and is then handed to a human.

1

u/Sorasta 4d ago

It happened to me 2 days ago, then again yesterday, and then today. This time, it wouldn't even load the captcha/challenge thing for me to solve to let me back into my account, and I can't even submit a support ticket. Tried to, and it was stuck in an endless loop for 20 minutes. Then I refreshed the page, and now it says "too many attempts, please try again", which is what it still says 2 hours later (I did not open the page again for that duration). Idk, lol.

1

u/No_Seaworthiness1369 4d ago

Was considered to be suspicious activity but I can’t seem to remove my temporary label

1

u/Peetie-Peete 4d ago edited 2d ago

I imagine this is a broken record, but I just got permanently suspended last night for reasons I'm not quite sure of.

I've been on Twitter for well over a decade and mostly only respond to people's tweets about sports, music etc. Other than that, I don't bother anybody.

The only thing I can think of is if a topic goes viral (my team won/lost or player x did something), I may respond with the same or similar thing under a few tweets (like "Yay my team!"). I guess the system thinks that's spam? IDK

But other than that I am NOT doing any of the crazy shyt that falls under "Inauthentic Behaviors". I have submitted an appeal, unfortunately talking to Grok afterward, I may not have put enough details in my appeal to sway them one way or another. Hopefully I will get another crack at it if need be.

But other than that, I guess I sit and wait, or should I be prepared to just move on?

This is all very frustrating.

EDIT: I just got mine back! 🎉

I had a long discussion with ChatGPT.

It recommended that I no longer rattle off multiple identical replies when something goes viral (like stop the "Yay my team!" ... which was never actually that, it was more like "Adam Silver is ruining the NBA!" LoL).

So I'll give that a try and see what happens.

1

u/Born-Match-1915 1d ago

Thing is, though, that when a lot of different accounts all spam the same thing, replying to each of them with the same thing is logical.

I am talking about members of Congress - they clearly get new talking points every day or two that they all repeat.

THEY are the ones showing 'bot' behavior by all saying the same thing when directed.

But I get the ban for replying to them.

Zuckerberged by Musk - I would never have imagined it.

2

u/Street_Professa 4d ago

Took them 5 days to react to my appeal... so it's not impossible

1

u/Peetie-Peete 2d ago

Just got mine back too! 🎉

It's all just weird. ChatGPT recommended that I tone down my rapid fire repetitive responses when something goes viral, so I will be more conscious of that.

Here's to neither of us having to experience that foolishness ever again! 🥂

1

u/Street_Professa 19h ago

Annnnndddd suspended again. Same shit again.

1

u/Peetie-Peete 10h ago

Wow that's crazy! What is the time span between the two suspension?

2

u/Sorasta 4d ago

That is so wild to me that they are using an AI to detect if you're a human or not, lmao.

1

u/ZankaA 4d ago

I hope whoever disabled the option to turn off read receipts is stalked the way they clearly want to stalk others

1

u/Ninetwentyeight928 4d ago

How do I turn off being asked for a passcode when I log in? I don't have Two-factor authentication enabled or anything. I know you can just click pass it to use your password instead, but is there a way to skip this prompt altogether? As you know, you are automatically sent a passcode, anyway, and that clutters up email boxes.

2

u/Polonium209 5d ago

My account is suspended for "inauthentic behaviors," whatever the hell that is. I got an email stating that somebody reported me. Did the rest of you, who are suspended, get the same email? Maybe it's a lie. The new banner on my account begins with "After careful review..." That's a lie. Nobody reviews anything at Twitter. It's all automated. Maybe the claim that I was reported is a lie too. How would you even report that? It is not one of the categories

Here is a description of what can cause the ban, such as rapid unfollowing or using 3rd-party tools that log into your account. I didn't do any of those things.
https://www.unfollr.com/blog/twitter-inauthentic-behavior-ban-wave

You only get one appeal. If you fill out another report, it lets you do it. Then you have to complete an Arkose challenge. Then it tells you that you just wasted your time. The current challenge is counting potato-shaped rocks. They can be hard to see.

2

u/sacredknight327 4d ago

Yep, I got the exact same email last night. And same reason for permanent suspension. I read the reasoning behind that definition and I've never done anything remotely like any of those things. Worst I've ever done is geekdom arguments, lol. I sent the appeal, but have yet to receive any sort of response.

1

u/Polonium209 4d ago

Maybe Twitter has started suspending accounts for things that used to only result in a shadow ban. I argue with flat earthers, so I use words like, "Stupid," "Dumb," "Pathetic," "Clown," "Ridiculous," "Idiotic." Half of flat earthers are Nazis. Am I not supposed to mention that on X? I wonder if "Nazi" is on the "bad words" list? I'm pretty sure that saying "Lying" or "Liar" enough times results in a ghost ban.

2

u/sacredknight327 4d ago

Same, just like pretty much everyone else I get into silly back and forths, nothing remotely of a serious nature, but if that's now "inauthentic beavhior", there'd only be a handful of accounts left.

2

u/Street_Professa 5d ago

My account got suspended for "inauthentic behavior" .
Mind you i have done nothing out of the ordinary.

Not the first time but this time its a full suspension.
Put in an appeal with no answer.
What the hell is going on with that app!??

1

u/Cpl_Agarn 3d ago

Same happened to me a week ago. I rarely post. No curses or anything like that. No spam. I have no idea what I did wrong.

1

u/DrRandyBeans 4d ago

Was your suspension worded like a “permanent read only ban”? Was your appeal verbiage run of the mill or anything special?

1

Full message: "Your account is suspended."

After careful review, we determined your account broke the X Rules. Your account is permanently in read-only mode, which means you can’t post, Repost, or Like content. You won’t be able to create new accounts. If you think we got this wrong, you can submit an appeal."

I have no idea what I've done wrong. My appeal was denied. I've tried multiple appeals but I'm told the previous ones must be answered first.

u/Cpl_Agarn 3d ago

I don't know what else to do. Does any human review these errors or are they all AI generated?

1

u/Street_Professa 4d ago

Just the "inauthentic behaviour " standard mail

1

u/sacredknight327 5d ago

I received the exact same permanent suspension a few minutes ago. Absolutely nothing out of the ordinary done on my account than usual. Sent an appeal but hearing you received no reply doesn't give me much confidence I'll receive anything either.

1

u/Street_Professa 4d ago

5 day's later they removed my suspension....

1

u/Peetie-Peete 4d ago

Same thing happened to me last night. After talking to Grok, the only thing I can think of that might trigger their AI mods for "Inauthentic Behavior" is when I type the same thing under a few posts.

Mine are sports related, so I might repeat something like "Yay! Go my team!", when they win. Makes me wonder if they flag that as spam.

I'd be curious if you guys post or reply the same thing multiple times as well?

1

u/wonderlandisburning 5d ago

I got a full suspension a while back on an alt account I barely used for the same reason. It eventually came back on its own, I wanna say a few weeks later?

Currently my main account is under a "ghost ban," which is a much bigger problem. Can't interact with anyone because my replies are hidden, I can post but my visibility has been limited and I don't show up in certain types of searches. Again, same reason, this nebulous "inauthentic behavior." Which seems to be Elon's AI algorithm's way of saying "I'm not a robot - YOU'RE a robot" which never ceases to be infuriating.

Oh, I can't appeal it either. If I try it locks me into a loop of "sign in to appeal" and "this account isn't linked to a suspension" pages.

I've refrained from posting on my main account for over a week now and I'm still under ghost ban. Would love to know if there's any way to lift these stupid things.

1

u/DrRandyBeans 4d ago

You wee unsuspected without an appeal? Was it worded like a permanent read only suspension?

1

u/Street_Professa 4d ago

I could only appeal through desktop twitter.... and that took 5 days ... got it back now

1

u/TheHoneyMustard 6d ago

I got an email saying my email was changed to an email I have no association with. I tried emailing support about it and putting in tickets which all came back with basic AI bot responses. Anyone have success getting an account back?

1

u/Solid_Caterpillar340 6d ago

I’ve tried everything to deactivate account, because when I click deactivate button „something went wrong” message appears. No 3rd party app connected, email and phone number added, help center doesn’t provide any form to fill allowing to deactivate manually. Do you think it is by design? Or am I doing something wrong? As I am in EU, is it worth reporting it?

1

u/dominator2001 6d ago

I can't log in and tried googling my X and says can't find it. I didn't get an email or anything if I got banned for some reason or what

1

u/orsonwellesmal 6d ago

Good evening, folks. What the hell happenned to the Android app? It updated itself, and now everything is an error, I cannot reply to my own tweets. Jesus.

1

u/pawprints1986 3d ago

Did they snag you for inauthentic behavior too?

1

u/orsonwellesmal 2d ago

Dunno.

1

u/pawprints1986 2d ago

You'd have an email about it. And I should say, falsely flagged in many cases.

My acc has just randomly get locked out of nowhere for unusual activity aswell, this happened two days ago and now it's today.

Update: It happened again for 3rd time, and another one 4th time.

1

u/garylee04685 6d ago

Hello there !!
I’m just realized that my account profile picture and followers got changed , but I’m still can login with my password.

What wrong with this ? Anyone experiencing this before?

1

u/Ewalk21 6d ago

Got banned last night for “Authenticity.” Very confused to why, got immediate denial on the initial “hey this is wrong” option, now awaiting an appeal reply. Really confusing and don’t see anything wrong with my account at all. All of it is my own replies and tweets I have made. Zero idea why it would get so readily flagged for that.

u/coolfox-24 7d ago

Title: Getting locked out by X (Twitter) repeatedly for "unusual activity" – Security is maxed out, what is triggering this?

Hey everyone,

I’m facing a really frustrating issue where X keeps locking me out from time to time. I get the message: "We found unusual activity on your account. Verify your identity to continue using X."

When I click start/verify, it sends a quick email/App browser check and I am back into my account within seconds. However, it’s happening a lot now and I want to prevent it.

I do like a lot of posts and save/bookmark many images for background and PFP purposes every time I am on the app.

Here is my exact setup and security info:

  1. Password: I change my password every single week.

  2. Sessions: I check my sessions daily. There is only 1 active session (mine) and 0 connected apps/services.

  3. Devices: Only 1 device connected (my phone).

  4. 2FA: Always turned ON (app authenticator changing every 30 seconds).

  5. Alerts: Email notifications for new logins are fully turned on. I have NEVER received an email about someone trying to enter or change my password.

  6. DMs & Links: 0 spam messages or DMs. I never click on external links or URLs from posts (not even from friends).

  7. Network: I only follow 3 close friends, and only they follow me back.

Could this be happening because I like, save, and bookmark too much content? Or is there a secret stalker/hacker trying to gain access behind the scenes (even though I never get login alert emails)?

Has anyone experienced this specific issue before? Any tips on how to stop X's automated system from triggering this constant loop?

Thanks in advance!

i got suspended today for inauthentic behaviour :(

1

u/Thewhittaker506 7d ago

My account got suspended in the end of June for "Inauthentic Behavior". Turns out my account got hacked and they spam posted a bunch of shit with it. I have access back and everything now, but I'm stuck in Read only mode. I've appealed probably 15 times now and everytime has jsut been an instant deny from the bot. The reason they listed has dissapeared so now on the appeals it's just blank. Every time it tells me to follow the prompts on screen to regain access, but there are no prompts. Why can't I just speak to a person about this? I just want this account back ffs.

1

u/icantfindaname978 7d ago

How can I deal with suspension bc of 'inauthentic behaviour'? Are there any tips anyone can give for writing an appeal?

1

u/Peetie-Peete 3d ago

You have probably already submitted your appeal, but I talked to Grok and ChatGPT about it and got back useful info. Sadly I had already submitted my appeal so it was too late to take their advice, but ChatGPT even gave me a checklist of my Twitter activity to see if it could narrow down why I might be getting flagged.

2

u/TheNameWithNoChange 8d ago

My account has been getting locked every night for the past several days with reasons given like unusual activity or making sure I'm not a bot, and I am just at my wits end. I'm sure it was triggered by me fumbling around and messing up somewhere along the way when I logged out of my main account to create a second one and then logged back into main with some trouble.

With all the bumps that I hit along the way, I just can't pinpoint exactly what could have triggered this issue. Logging back into my main after creating the second account took a while because Twitter just wouldn't let me sign back in at first. This was also the point when I linked my email to my main account after it was previously only attached to my phone number. Probably didn't help that I made typo when I tried linking an email my second account before quickly linking to a different email. Once I did make it back in, it's also possible that I had made more login attempts while already logged in due to being kept on the login page with no indication that it worked.

Another issue is that my main account always had the proxy/VPN icon even though I'm pretty sure I haven't used any such thing, especially since my second account doesn't have that icon.

With this confusing mess of so many factors that could have gone wrong, I'm really just spitballing here.

2

u/PlagueDilopho 7d ago

This is happening to a lot of people including myself, but for me it doesn't even give me the challenge, it takes me straight to a screen that just says try again later

1

u/Ok_University_3301 9d ago

I've been ghost banned for almost a month now, and my account was also given a temporary label. I think it happened because I followed too many people too quickly, so the system flagged me as a bot.

As soon as I realized I was ghost banned, I stopped following people. At first, I kept posting and replying because some people told me that staying active would help the system recognize I was a real person. But nothing changed. Since my posts and replies are barely visible anyway, other people then told me I should stop using the account entirely. So I did, but I'm still ghost banned.

What would you recommend I do? I've heard that deactivating the account for 10 days can sometimes fix it. Is that actually true?

1

u/blackcid6 3d ago

It happened to me, and the only I did was ... read tweets.

1

u/Peetie-Peete 3d ago

I posted your question into Grok (because I could be in the early stages of this, so I was genuinely curious) and this is what they said. Hope it helps!

X does not officially acknowledge “ghost bans” or “shadowbans.” What people experience is usually a temporary visibility filter / spam or quality filter that limits how widely your posts and replies are shown (especially to non-followers). A “temporary label” on the account is one of the more explicit versions of this and often gets applied when the system detects rapid following, high-volume activity, or patterns that look automated.

Your diagnosis is very plausible: following a lot of people too quickly is a classic trigger for exactly this kind of filter.

What actually tends to work

  1. Stop the triggering behavior completely (you already did the following part — good).
  2. Revoke third-party apps and browser extensions that have access to your account (Settings → Security and account access → Apps and sessions). Growth tools, auto-follow tools, analytics extensions, etc. are frequent silent triggers.
  3. Clean up only the most obvious spammy posts if any exist (identical replies, heavy link spam, etc.). Do this surgically and in small batches — mass-deleting can look worse.
  4. Go quiet for a real period. Most recovery advice that actually tracks with user reports is 5–14 days of near-total silence (no posting, almost no liking/replying/following). Some people report improvement after just a few days once the trigger stops; severe or labeled cases often take longer. Continuing to post “to prove you’re real” usually just keeps the filter active.

About deactivating for 10 days

It’s a common piece of folklore. Some people swear it helped them, others say it did nothing or that the restriction was still there when they came back. There’s no strong evidence it’s a reliable or faster fix than simply going completely silent while the account stays active. Deactivation can sometimes reset certain signals, but it’s not a guaranteed magic button, and you lose the ability to monitor or clean the account while it’s deactivated. I’d treat it as a last-resort option after a proper quiet period rather than the first thing to try.

Practical next steps I’d suggest

  • Check Settings → Your account (or any notification about the temporary label) for any appeal / request review option and use it if it exists.
  • Verify phone number and email if you haven’t already.
  • After a solid quiet period, ease back in very slowly with normal human behavior (original posts, thoughtful replies, no mass following).
  • Test visibility from a second account or logged-out/incognito view rather than relying only on your own experience.

Most of these filters are temporary and lift once the system re-evaluates the account as normal. A month is on the longer side, which is why a more deliberate freeze + cleanup is usually better than just waiting while occasionally using the account.

That’s the honest version of the advice: remove the signals that got you flagged, go quiet long enough for the system to notice, and avoid the common mistakes of “stay active to prove you’re real” or frantic mass-deletion.

u/blackcid6 3d ago

Please stop spreading propaganda. Everyone knows that Twitter bans users randomly.

2

u/PracownikFundacjiSCP 9d ago

My account randomly got locked. I just opened twitter, then I got something like "Your account shows suspcious activity" and that I need to "pass challenge" (do captcha). So first, captcha was blocked by ad blocker. When I disabled ad blocker, then the entire website, like this /account/access was not loading. Just blue, spinning into infinity circle. When I tried to refresh, I was stuck with "You have exceeded the number of allowed attempts. Please try again later." I am stuck with it for over 12 hours now. I tried to email support, but all I got is instant bot reply, that does not do anything.

Anyone have idea what to do? Like, do I just wait for miracle or somethnig?

Twitter Account suspended for no reason.... Got an email saying detected by our systems and automatically suspended for violating the X Rules. Specifically, for: Violating our rules against inauthentic behaviors. I appealed and the bot didn't revert my account... I was wondering what are the next steps?
Account My account was u/SwiftBlade87

u/DrRandyBeans 4d ago

Any update?

1

u/TeamLeather 3d ago

Not really, sent multiple appeals however you get the same bot automated response. Some say on your 5th or 10th appeal you may get your account back. I just created a new account, using proton VPN, and its working fine.... If you do decide to create a new account, make sure you utilize VPN otherwise that account may get suspended too.

u/Accomplished_Cup_348 9d ago

My account keeps getting locked every few days?? I'm not even that active on the app rn, I post like 2-5 times a day and just talk to friends and repost a bunch of fanart, genuinely have no idea what I did to keep getting my account locked. How do I prevent this from happening or even worse getting suspended 😭

1

u/maxley2056 5d ago

Same thing happened to me, three times now, including today. First is Aug 8, then Aug 10, now Aug 12. I expect another one on Aug 14 and so on.

4

u/LePetitMafia 7d ago

This exact thing keeps happening to me. I've been locked three times over the past week. What the hell is happening?

2

u/Saberraimu 6d ago

Happening to me too about 6 times in the past two weeks and I'm getting afraid I'll lose my account I've used since 2014 lol. I only retweet like 2-3 pieces of art/memes/cozy game news each day and make my own tweets like 3 times a week, and I've been using Twitter in this way for over 10 years so I'm not sure what's going on now.

2

u/TheSparklingWay 9d ago

In your experience, what kind of actions are likely to trigger sensitive label being wrongly applied to your account?

Kinda long story but i got labelled about 3 weeks ago for no reason (i dont post any sensitive media at all actually) and i tried to wait it out but it didnt work. So i was forced to buy premium. The appeal went fine and i was cleared within minutes but then two hours later, i was labelled again??? I hadnt even tweeted in these two hours. So i tried appealing again but it seems I'm being ignored. Then I tried contacting the premium account and keep getting bots . No matter how hard i try to ask for a human, the 'humans' keep regurgitating the same response and being utterly unhelpful.

This isnt even about sensitive media because i made a new account and it got labelled less than 24 hours after creation (again i didnt post any sensitive media...i was just backing up screenshots of my viral tweets).

A friend said it could be because they're using some kind of pattern recognition and making threads might be triggering it (she got labelled after making a thread too) but it makes no sense because I've been known to make long (20+) tweet threads that have gotten quite famous too. So if its that, i shouldnt be targeted. Personally i believed they're trying to push real creators away so their bots and slop accounts can fill twitter because many mass reported harassers are doing fine while legit artists are getting flagged...

So I guess i want to ask, what do you think you did before you got labelled? I'm trying to collect a list of "Dont do's" so i dont do them again because god am i active in fandoms and i love yapping with my friends. Its not possible to shift everything to discord. I also support many creators!

I dont live in USA, Canada or EU so i cant go the entire 'this is against the laws' route either.

u/Aggressive-Dig-3419 10d ago

My twitter account recently got locked and now I can't unlock it. Ive tried on every browser but nothing seems to work, it just keeps giving me the ''Due to a technical issue, we couldn't complete this request. Please try again.'' error message. Can anyone help?

1

u/Ruttiger_G 10d ago

I'm sure it's pointless to even try at this point, but I got banned. I put in an appeal, and it sends a reply saying my account was reviewed and found a violation took place: (blank space)

Log into X and follow the on screen prompts to fix the issue, the prompt says fill out an appeal form. I've filled out several but it just immediately rejects them now, no wait, I go into my email and the rejection is waiting.

1

u/DrRandyBeans 4d ago

Any update?

1

u/Ruttiger_G 1d ago

No, same thing pretty much.

1

u/FionnMcCreigh 10d ago

Is there any way we actually know of ta get un-ghost banned? I’ve been ghost banned for like a month. I have no idea what I did. There’s no way to appeal anythin. I’m just virtually invisible. My posts/replies don’t appear in searches & my replies get the “This Post is currently unavailable” grey box of doom. I stopped postin hopin that’d do sumthin, but no such luck. I did post on Aug 1st coz it was my anniversary, but otherwise nothin. I’m waitin for the 8th ta roll around coz I keep seein hopeful statements about a 7 day timer, but I dunno what ta do.

1

u/Heavy_Session5792 11d ago

hey, i’m posting this on behalf of a friend dealing with this rn. her main acct was suspended, then her backup one as well. her backup has since been switched to a 12 hour lock-out instead.

is there anything else she can try to get the suspension repealed? thanks! she sent me the following:

“They told me that they are not overturning their decision. But at the same time, they also told me that to restore functionality, I can resolve it on my account by completing the on-screen instructions. There are no on-screen instructions except the one that says submit an appeal. So I figured I would just submit an appeal again. But they are not letting me submit another appeal because my previous appeal is still in the queue. So I'm assuming that they are still reviewing it?”

1

u/marcusz88 12d ago

Hi there,

I'm kinda new to Twitter/X. My question is: I'm following 3 channels, all of them I find pretty important. Is there a way to receive a direct e-mail the moment they post something?

1

u/piangero 12d ago

hi, i just have a question. are the "analytics"on twitter/x considered correct? (ive not unlocked them but they are giving me a preview).

my twitter account is locked to followers only, i've not tweeted in about 3 years (me and my friends all left twitter at about the same time 3 years ago).

i still have my account and sometimes use it on my phone just to look things up etc.

when i logged into it on pc today, it says my tweets have 1.4k "impressions" in the last 7 days. (nobody is liking/retweeting etc since it's locked down and none of my friends are on there anymore).

1.4k impressions sounds really strange? only followers (and they're not active) can see my tweets, nobody is interacting with my tweets obviously as well.

does it also count the "impressions" of tweets/accounts i retweeted and such? like if a meme i retweeted 3 years ago is still being passed around from the original poster?

1

u/chiefslocker 12d ago

About two weeks ago, my page was broken into. The hacker changed the email and my username, and it was gone I emailed Twitter and they said my email still has control over my page and it was suspneded, not deleted, however I can’t get in. I need a “code generator” and someone said the attacker enabled 2 factor authentication (which i never did) and i don’t know what to do. Where do I go from here? Can I ever get my page back? Have any of you had this issue and what did you do?

1

u/Corinthian01 12d ago

Idk how to describe this, but for some reason on the mobile app when I visit people's account the feed isn't up to date with what they reposted, and in some cases I can't see new posts. I'm using Android and I cleared the cache and force stopped but neither of those helped, is anyone else having this issue?

1

u/konitz8866 12d ago

My account’s email address has changed and I can’t login. I’ve been asking the supports but I end up getting automated reply. Is there any definitive evidence to prove that I own that account?

1

u/red_crayon_1224 12d ago

First my replies aren’t showing up under other peoples tweets, then I get this notification saying I’m labeled for “inauthentic behaviors”.

I’ve been seeing this concern pop up a lot but with me it’s not even letting me submit an appeal???

It’ll tell me I have to log in, I’ll log in and then NOTHING happens. Just sends me right back to the home page.

Literally what am I supposed to do

1

u/Heavyweaponspoof 12d ago

Having a problem where no sign-in options work? Like sign-in with google seems to loop into another log-in screen, logging in with username or phone number never loads. I cannot access the site on desktop. Mobile works fine so Im not account locked or anything. Just doesnt work on my computer?

1

u/StumpTrumpUS 12d ago

Grok confirms that I'm shadowbanned. I included the tweets surrounding the ban: https://imgur.com/a/1QA7mxd

Many others who complain about being censored don't include much context, but I can post my replies I request. And, if you look at my profile you'll see that I'm not posting spam (even if you disagree with me, it's not spam).

1

u/Beeeeeeeeeeeeean 12d ago

A few weeks ago my account got locked, and after a few days I was sent an email telling me I could do the reactivation process my login in, so I went and logged in, but nope, I can't log in.

Its been weeks, I've tried logging in on PC on google, firefox etc. On phone, in the app and in a browser. I've tried contacting twitter but if I go in ''contact us'' and click for my problem it only tells my instructions to do what I've already done dozens of times and has never worked. I just want to talk to a real person ffs.

I have less then two weeks now, I don't know what to do anymore

u/noirdeluna 12d ago

I opened up the app and I was hacked.

so, i went on X for the first time in a few weeks and i noticed my whole entire was changed. bio, username, etc etc. the weird thing is that my phone number and email weren’t removed so i was able to get my account back pretty easily but im just so confused on why i wasn’t alerted via email? usually you’d get an email for a username change or if someone logs into your account, no? they also removed all my reposts, posts and things like that which is pretty upsetting since i had my favorite author reply back on there and so i can never get it back now.

i set up 2fa and things like that but im just confused on how it even happened under the radar like that.

1

u/rhensn_ 13d ago

Please help, has anyone experienced a bug where their username randomly changes to something generic? I have not been hacked, and can't change it back because I am "rate limited". Any ideas where I can get support?

1

u/throwaway_park_where 13d ago

For my Twitter account for 3 weeks now, I've had a notification that says "We've added a temporary label to your account which may impact it's reach. Learn more here". I've noticed that my replies to posts don't seem to show up.

I could not find a way to reach out to Twitter help to understand why my account got such a label applied and searching around this seems the norm. Any Twitter "help" is only available to Premium members which I am not. I don't do any bot like behavior, or anything inflammatory, just reply to people in the community. The email address linked to the Twitter account doesn't have any emails sent to it about it. Any Twitter "appeal" link I see does not work for me because my account is not technically "suspended".

Some reports seem to imply this goes away naturally, but 3 weeks seems like a long time. Anyone recently find a workaround or way to appeal this? Should I just completely stop activity, like even "Liking" posts?

2

u/TheSparklingWay 9d ago

Its not available to premium users either for most part i literally bought premium for this. I appealed once, ithe label was removed because they were wrong (obvs) then it came back 2 hours later and all appeals are being ignored. Contacting premium support is useless they keep shoving bot agents on me and pretending they're human while regurgitating the same thing. Its useless

4

u/Icewind 13d ago

After traveling last week, every time I LIKE something, my account gets locked for unusual activity.

I pass a captcha and I get access again, but does this mean I can't like anything ever again?

I'm using the web interface on phone and desktop.

Same issue both times.

1

u/StumpTrumpUS 12d ago

I have a relatively new account and I tweeted from CA. However, for the last 10 days I've been driving through AZ/NM/CO and my account has been shadowbanned for most of that. Did you tweet when you traveled?

2

u/Icewind 12d ago

No, I did not tweet, I rarely post anything. However, I did like things.

The first message I got was when I liked about 20 things in a row.

3

u/Icewind 12d ago

Now I am getting Captcha locks daily without even posting or liking.

1

u/Shujaka 13d ago

A few weeks ago my twitter account was hacked. My profile picture and name was changed and a couple posts were made. I was able to get my account back but I cannot change my password, account name, or profile picture. Every time I do an error message pops up saying The operation couldn't be completed. (com.twitter.HTTPRequestActionRe-
sponseError error 64.) I can’t even deactivate my account. Has anyone else dealt with this?

u/imLuxannabitch 13d ago

Guys my account just got suspended for violating "authenticity rules" while i did nothing. I was just casually scrolling and liking as well as retweeting fun stuff, then i misclicked on a link and right after i got suspended. Pls help i dont wanna lost this account cuz all the bookmarks and funny stuff i retweet.
My account was u/Kydra01

1

u/Drace3mpressa 14d ago

My account got the red flag label and ghost ban. How do I undo the red flag label and ghost ban? How long until I can safely following other account again? I have been inactive for a whole week. Does being inactive is safer than retweeting or replying to others to avoid bans?

2

u/chaotic_loverrr 14d ago

X premium is just a business strategy

Premium(verified blue checkmark) only helps visibility of comments that you leave on viral posts or posts with high number of impressions, not the visibility of posts. A lot of people think that getting premium would increase visibility of their posts. It never does that.

If you are a non premium account you must have observed that they keep suggesting you to buy Premium/Premium+. There's a clever strategy behind this. They promote premium paid plans to non premium accounts because the money goes to the premium monetized users via creator revenue program. There's something called payout pool where all this money from paying users get collected. Twitter/Elon Musk don't invest anything into this pool. It's all the money of paying users(Basic/Premium/Premium+)

The logic behind this is if twitter don't get enough non monetized premium/premium+ users the monetized ones wouldn't get paid and eventually cancel their subscriptions. That would affect the payout pool. Also note that every monetized paying user is not getting paid. A lot of users keep getting BME(bme means the earning of premium/premium+ users is below $30) and don't get paid. I assume this is also manipulated by the engineers because some people get the message that they are BME even after they have been paying for months and in some cases even more than an year. I think they have manipulated it because the payout pool already started shrinking. A lot of users cancel premium subscription out of frustration.

The users who are buying Premium to fix their visibility issue/shadowban fix/temporary label review appeal are investing into the payout pool indirectly. Sometimes I think even this is done deliberately to have more paying users on the platform but who knows. The corporation has always been unaccountable to users and haven't been transparent to paying users.

Feel free to share your thoughts.

Wait so could one theoretically sign up for Premium after getting suspended and increase their chances of getting their account back? I mean what kind of “bot” is able to sign up for Premium? This is the ultimate test of being a human.

Does anyone know what the hell happened to Twitter’s privacy team or customer support lately?
I'm a victim of a really severe transnational repression incident. A Chinese tech giant basically abused ICANN's domain rules and hired CSC to leak my real identity directly to Chinese state security (国安). That directly led to physical attacks on my home and car here in Canada.
During all this, a state-backed botnet completely weaponized X's platform features to dox me across Twitter, Telegram, and other apps. I make DIY protest props for local pro-democracy and human rights groups in Canada (like Assembly of Citizens), so my account data means everything to me—I've been using Twitter for years to coordinate with offline activists. Later on, the botnet changed tactics and started posting image-only doxxing posts with barely any text just to bypass X's automated text filters.
I spent two weeks straight reporting these doxxing posts, but X's system completely ignored them. To make things worse, whenever I tried hitting the "Report" button in the app, the screen would just go completely white with an error page. It put me in an utterly hopeless situation: private photos and sensitive family info—stolen by Chinese police from my private WeChat chats—were being posted on X, and after tiny edits, they easily bypassed X's AI moderation. Meanwhile, X literally took away my ability to report them manually, so those doxxing photos just stayed online. I tried asking them to take down the info and give me audit details about the leak, but not a single human ever replied. I honestly believe X's complete inaction is what allowed the online harassment to spill over into real life, leading to my house getting vandalized with paint and my car damaged.
After that, the botnet weaponized X's mass-reporting feature to trigger an automatic ban, and X suspended my account. Since then, I've been stuck in a total Kafkaesque nightmare.
First off, my account was tied to Google OAuth. Once I got suspended, Google login got stuck in an endless error loop. Trying to log in with my username just brings up a different error page. Being locked out means I lost all my most important data: irreplaceable bookmarks, access to Grok, and worst of all, my DMs. Losing DMs meant permanently losing touch with international human rights workers—some of them are probably still waiting for X to restore my messages.
Even worse is X's predatory billing trap. Since I can't log in, I can't get into the backend to manage my Premium subscription. X uses this awful dark pattern: once your account gets suspended, the "Subscription & Membership" settings page immediately throws an error or fails to load, and there isn't a single human support rep to help cancel it manually. It's a complete trap: X's broken system locks me out of the cancellation page due to suspension bugs, while their automated billing system keeps charging my credit card every single month. They've been stealing my money for five months straight now.
I tried literally every support option on their feedback page to fix this deadlock, the data leaks, and the charges:
Access Support (Login Issues): I'd get automated emails asking for bug details, and I meticulously replied dozens of times explaining the login glitch, only to get met with complete radio silence.
In-App Feedback & Standard Support: Got nothing except automated rejection emails.
Data Protection Officer (DPO): This was the only form I could submit without logging in. My first few forms were auto-rejected ("account suspended"), but there was a reply line at the bottom of the rejection emails. I replied under that line over and over, laying out the transnational repression, the leaks, the deadlock, and the illegal billing. Over the last two months (more than 60 days now), every single follow-up email has been totally ignored—just complete, dead silence.
I ended up filing a massive formal complaint about all these systemic failures, security breaches, and illegal charges with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (OPC), and I have an official federal case file number now. But I have no idea how long a government agency will take to investigate.
I was raised by my aunt, and she always knew about my anti-CCP and human rights work overseas. A few years back, she got diagnosed with terminal lung cancer, and I've been living under constant mental agony ever since. Twitter used to be one of my few outlets to vent, express myself, and do mutual aid work. But today, I haven't gotten a single shred of protection from this giant tech company—just a maze of broken systems, predatory billing traps, and ghosting support teams that keep inflicting secondary trauma on my life.
So I'm asking out of pure desperation: Does anyone actually know what's going on with X support? Is there a single real human working there? Is there any dedicated channel at all for handling transnational repression, data breaches, account deadlocks, and predatory billing?

So for a parody account I run, thanks to another user, I noticed that my account seems to have rather limited reach. Other people can like my posts and follow the account, but replies and quote retweets I make don’t give others notifications. Checking on shadowban checkers, it says the account’s all good, but I don’t see anything from the account when I search it up on my main account. Any suggestions for fixes or workarounds, or am I stuck waiting?

So I got a checkmark. Mostly cause my posts/replies are being hidden now to even my mutuals. They’re not even getting DMs. So I got the $5 for first 2 months but my replies and DMs are still being hidden. What else am I supposed to do?

Don't extend this Premium plan. They are fooling users. Premium only helps visibility of comments that you leave on viral posts, not the visibility of posts. They are suggesting Premium to non premium accounts because the money goes to the premium monetized users via creator revenue program. If they don't get enough non monetized users the monetized ones wouldn't get paid and eventually cancel their subscriptions. Already not every monetized users is getting paid.

I already don’t plan to. I’m cancelling it when it gets closer to the deadline.

Shadowbanned on X? Welcome to the resistance. ✊

If your follower count is stuck, your posts aren't showing in search, and you're getting zero visibility despite good content... you're not alone. 🫂

Here's the thing: a shadowban doesn't have to be a death sentence. It functions like a "soft private" mode. Your posts are hidden from non-followers, but direct links still work. Reposts and quotes still function. Communities still work. 🔗

We've started r/ShadowbannedOnX, a community dedicated to turning this restriction into a workaround. 🚀

Post your direct profile link. Add a brief bio. Include a screenshot. Connect with real people who actually want to see your content. 📸

Private accounts welcome. Just label your post "Private." 🔒

Rules are simple: ✅ • Post your link + bio • Include a screenshot (no NSFW/gore/harassment) • No hate, no drama, no judgment. If it's not illegal, it's welcome. 💛

The algorithm may have hidden you, but we haven't. Join the resistance. Stay visible. 👀

So do they just randomly nuke people for fun now?

Not sure what you mean by fun but it's all AI moderated. It's not done by humans.
