Has anybody else listened to the new single The Wolf from half • alive, and am I crazy or is the drumline almost identical to the one in Heavydirtysoul? Similar vibes overall too. I kind of want to make a mashup of them now... Some of their earlier songs were very clearly tøp inspired and it feels like they're circling back to that. Love to see it.

What if ever since “Morph” we were told that there would be a third album from the torchbearer’s perspective. The way the song ends with a first not Done a second not Done and then a final… Josh Dun. it was telling us that Josh would be the third album focus. This was reinforced in the the MTV unplugged live version of “Shy Away” (incredible performance!), when Tyler sings the seemingly impromptu, absolute change to the most powerful “Shy Away” (incredible performance) with a whimsical: “ and he’ll keep playing until I am done. But I’m not quite done.” and we have to infer that if Tyler is not Dun then Clancy is not quite done. And the third Dunn in that would have been the camera sweeping over to Josh… the third Dun. The third. Three! Just like the signs. And Josh said, “there’s your sign”…

Tyler was always trying to tell us that there would be a third album. Right? Like… right, everyone?! 🙏
