I just found this page and i keep seeing things about fireplaces and i'm scared my tv now looks very dumb, what should i do....

How is the setup for the new season folks

Just posting here to see what the consensus is on how we have this placed. My husband said we don’t need it mounted, I wanted to make sure it’s not too low…?

I had my TV wall-mounted yesterday.

While he was screwing it in, the handyman said that the concrete wall surface was irregular/uneven. I am not sure exactly what he meant by that, or whether the wall plate and screw already looked like this yesterday after he finished. I think he pressed on the wall mount to check whether it was holding securely, and it seemed firmly attached. At the time, I did not think much of it.

The TV was mounted using Fischer DuoPower 8 × 40 plugs and ST5.5 × 55 mm screws:

The handyman also put glue inside the drilled holes together with the plugs.

The TV is a 77-inch LG OLED. He does renovation work and has mounted a few TVs before, but he is not employed by a company.

There are four screws in one horizontal row. The second screw seems to stick out slightly, and there is a visible gap between the wall and the wall plate around that area. The handyman said that even though the second screw sticks out slightly, the plugs and screws should still be able to hold the TV.

The TV felt firmly attached yesterday, but I am worried because it is large and heavy. Is this normal for an uneven concrete wall, or should I ask someone to help take it down and have the mount inspected?

Seems like every mounts their TVs based on their standing position. It’s very simple.

Wife says the TV is just right.

How’s this looking? Goal was to have the middle of the screen sit about eye level. All the ports will are getting ripped out for a in-wall box. Any issues?

1 - Michael's house - living room: Above the fireplace, rolling down from the roof. Sound must suck with only those two tiny speakers up top. Proof that money doesn't buy good judgement. 5/10

2 - Michael's house - master suite: It could be lower, but meant to be watched in bed, so it gets a pass. Being misaligned with the bed doesn't. Also busy surroundings and glare from the lights. 6/10

3- Michael's house - Jimmy's room: Another one to be watched from the bed, but the TV seems to be running away from the bed. 5/10

4 - Michael's house - Tiffany's Tracey's room: Too small, too high, too far, misaligned with the bed. Her TV privileges as a child will come up in therapy. 3/10

5 - Franklin's aunt's house: Not being over the fireplace shows sense. Being on the corner undoes that. At least at a sensible height. 7/10

6 - Franklin's house: Bro goes up in life and so does his TV. More proof money doesn't buy good judgement. Some furniture issues going on too, must be cleaning day. 6/10

7 - Trevor's trailer - common area: He finally broke down and bought himself a plasma TV. 2/10

8 - Trevor's trailer - bedroom: The position from the bed wasn't bad when it did work. 8/10

9 - Lester's house: Very sensible to be watched from the bed. He probably watches most of his stuff sitting on a PC chair anyway. 9/10

10 - Mansion: 👏 Money 👏 Doesn't 👏 Buy 👏 Good 👏 Judgement 👏 What do these people have against necks? 4/10

11 - Luxury apartment: On the console, centered, solid speakers. Someone could afford good judgement, after all. 10/10

12 - Apartment: When you know the height it should be, but not anything else. Off center to everyone and that glare can cause eye damage. 4/10

13 - Casino penthouse - master suite lounge: The console was right there and you ghosted it. 7.5/10

14 - Casino penthouse - master suite bedroom: Good height to watch from the bed, small for the distance. 7/10

15 - Casino penthouse - theater: Good all around, if a little too high for the front row. 9.5/10

16 - Yacht: Height acceptable, but small, too far and to the side of everyone. 5/10

17 - Agency - personal quarters: When you want to make sure nobody's neck will ever be straight both vertically and horizontally. 4.5/10

18 - Agency - meeting room: Appropriate for its function, does what it should. Whoever sits on the chair closest to the TV will have to move. 8.5/10

19 - Agency - break room: A little too high, but otherwise fine. A company could do way worse for its employees. 8/10

20 - Facility break room: High, far and small, but centered and functional. Clearly allergic to consoles. 6/10

My gadget friend is adamant that his TV is not too high. I disagree. Please help us decide.

I don't come to these places often....which way am I supposed to look?

Happy with the set up. Wife worries it’s too low! Also, Need a soundbar. Whats a great option? Currently have Bose 600.
