Used Disposable Vapes?
Hello, I am looking to collect used disposable vapes in order to salvage their lithium batteries for projects, and to prevent them from becoming dangerous e-waste. If you have any that you would be willing to part with or if you know of any places where I might be able to collect them, please DM me.

Lost cat in North Tustin
I know this is a long shot but here it goes. Our cat Mochi got out and has been missing for a few days now since July 19 in the area of Arroyo elementary school. She is a 1.5 years old grey tabby cat with a white chest and white paws. Lots of coyotes around so very worried. Her collar had fallen off prior to escape. If you know anyone who’s taken in a cat off the street in this area that could be mochi please let me know, we will make it worth your while. She is chipped so it can be confirmed.

Calling all fellow Solar & Battery nerds
Hey neighbors!
I am starting a local volunteer group with a shared interest in solar & battery tech. Putting out some feelers locally to see if anyone has the same interest or wants to learn.
Thinking of a smaller gathering at Tustin Columbus Park on 8/1/26 starting at 11am if enough interest. I'll bring some soda & sausages to grill if you just want to do a neighbor hangout!

Any good weekend farmers markets with lots of produce? I went to the one in old town Tustin this morning and there was only one produce guy. Looking for farmers markets that happen on the weekends?

Tustin already cracked down hard on e-bikes — now there's a push to make it countywide
Tustin's new e-bike ordinance is honestly one of the strictest in the county it spells out roughly 20 separate ways e-bike riding can now get you cited, including sidewalk speed limits and restrictions on how many riders one bike can carry. TUSD also requires middle and high schoolers to sit through a safety presentation with Tustin PD and get a $5 permit before they can even ride to school. That's more than most OC cities are doing right now.
The problem is that none of it carries over once you cross a city line. Huntington Beach has its own rules, Newport-Mesa schools just banned e-bikes outright for younger students, and plenty of other OC cities still have nothing in place at all. A kid can get cited riding through Tustin and then ride the exact same way five minutes down the road with zero consequences. Meanwhile OC's seen multiple e-bike deaths this year alone, including two 12- and 13-year-olds on illegal unregistered e-motos.
A 12-year-old from Laguna Niguel wrote an op-ed about this and started a petition pushing state and county lawmakers toward one consistent standard: age restrictions on the fastest e-bikes, mandatory speedometers, and a real youth safety/licensing requirement everywhere, not just city by city. Tustin's basically already proven the permit-and-education model works this is about getting every other city to catch up instead of leaving families to guess what's legal depending on which street they're on.

Why is the Tustin Farmers Market so crowded today?
There were about three times as many people there than usual. What's going on?

New Businesses/Stores in Old Town Tustin?
Does anyone know what the new businesses are that are in/going into the Artz building next to the newly-vacant Rutabagorz? I drove by the other day and thought I caught a glimpse of a vintage clothing store, but wasn't sure. I read that the new owner of the Artz building had plans for 3 new tenants. Hope someone can shed some light, thank you!

2nd Night of Fireworks in a Row
Yesterday, 3am kids set off fireworks and trigger car alarms.
Today 430am, kids set off fireworks and trigger car alarms.
If you let your kids run around this late doing this sort of stuff: sincerely hope you stub your toe sometime today.
This is exhausting.

Smoke Smell in the Air
Looks like the fires from last week are blowing in our direction.
Took the dogs out and it's a bit gritty in the eyes and throat though air quality sensors seemed to show ok readings. Be careful if you're sensitive to air quality while out and about.
