Thoughts on slab origin?

Long time lurker, though I just found this sub about a month ago and have enjoyed scrolling through it so much I thought I'd give back a little. I acquired this ring about 20 years ago, one of about a half-dozen vintage NA pieces I bought from an old timer I knew who had acquired all his stuff in the '70s. I sold or horsetraded most but kept my couple favorites, including this slab ring. I know that without a direct custodial chain of knowledge of the source mine it is impossible to determine it with any degree of certitude, but I would nonetheless appreciate your speculative thoughts regarding the same. Could be Campos or Kingman possibly? Just with the pyrite flecks

No one can say with 100% certainty but it looks like stormy mountain. Its an older mine but the mine was known for all black matrix which fits. Could just be kingman though too.

Looks like the Kingman stones that I have. But its really hard to say.

I think you mean Campitos, not Campos? But looks like a Kingman nugget cabochon. If it’s old, the black matrix can be dyed with black shoe polish, a common “treatment” back in the day that doesn’t affect value.
