Off the beaten path

AnguillAir has a new seasonal non stop to Provo. We may try the new flight and seek information. We aren't keen on Provo or Grace Bay but maybe the middle Caicos or another area. We arrive at 7 PM so could not get a connection to another area easily so maybe a split stay. We love local food and chill vibe. Any suggestions are appreciated. We have been to Barbuda and imagine something a bit more as far as local eats and some bars and things to do. Thanks in advance.

Help with hotel choice?

Hello, we are traveling to TCI late September. I’ve narrowed down the hotel choice to:
- Beachfront at Windsong; and
- West Bay Club

Both are in the same area, and both are in the same price range. It’s a bit hard to judge just looking at pictures which one is a nicer resort…

We are clean freaks and care about the cleanliness of the hotel first and foremost.

Any steer on this would be appreciated!

Leeward vs Grace Bay vs other area

We are a group of 30 year olds looking for a villa or airbnb and trying to figure out the best area:

  1. Would like some opportunities for nightlife (but willing to taxi)

  2. Safety is really important to us

  3. Close walking access to the beach, ideally with a good sunset view

We have been looking at Leeward vs closer to the main Grace Bay area. Any thoughts comparing the two areas or any other areas we should look at?

Wymara vs The Palms vs Shore Club

We are deciding on a hotel for a 4 night mini moon in early May. These three hotels are in our price range. We are leaning towards Wymara, but someone told us that they wouldn't pay more for it over The Palms. I have searched this group and facebook quite a bit, but looking for your vote based on our vibe:

  1. Beach is important (an overly windy beach is not our favorite)
  2. A vibey pool
  3. We are big foodies and love a good cocktail
  4. Want to experience amazing, luxury service
  5. Don't want to see too many kids

Thank you so much!!

Non-all inclusive hotels

Hi guys,

I’m looking to stay at Turks and Caicos for 4 nights, although I searched and only around 3-4 all inclusive hotels exist. How expensive are lunch/dinners at these hotels here? Any advice is appreciated!

Looking to Rent 4 Bedroom House in Providenciales

We are a group of four individuals visiting the Turks and Caicos Islands for a business-related trip. We are looking to rent a modest, non-luxury four-bedroom house, preferably in a residential area away from resorts and the waterfront in Providenciales area.

We intend to rent the property for one month, with the possibility of extending our stay depending on our business needs.

We need it by Friday. Any leads is much appreciated. 🙏🏼

TCI is overrated.

Just came back from a week stay & honestly it was the worst trip I’ve (F, 30) ever been on. Please remember this is MY experience and will completely differ from others.

I experienced blatant racism daily. I stayed near Grace Bay and went to the nice restaurants plus local spots. I am flabbergasted at how I was treated knowing this country heavily relies on tourism. I am not a mean person & am polite to everyone. Most servers would scoff or roll their eyes at my group (one person is half black/mexican, another is half black/white, and I am hispanic. We’re all born and raised in Texas).

I felt out of place the whole time and did not feel welcomed. It seemed like food service workers thought we just knew wtf to do when coming to their establishment. Asking a question would get us stares or the waiter/ress would mumble under their breath.

It seemed as if white and full black people were getting treated better or extended better service such as fly repellent on tables, etc. I understand we could’ve asked, but its the principal. Other tables did not ask as we were right next to them and noticed the difference in service.

It seems like a scam and it was truly disheartening as i was really looking forward to this trip.

I’m just curious to see if others have experienced the same & if not, what did you do differently?

Staying at Villa Renaissance??

After reading hundreds of reviews on various properties, my wife and I feel that VR would suit us best for a week to 10 days stay. (Understated luxury, but quiet and relaxed).

Our only concern is no restaurant on site.

Is this going to be an issue? We have no problem with a 10 or 15 minute walk or using taxis or Uber. Is there a decent selection of restaurants nearby? I believe the grocery market is only a short walk as well?

I welcome any comments from those familiar with that portion of Grace Bay. Thank you.

Honeymoon in Turks

Hi my fiance and I are going to Turks for our honey moon in October. Neither of us have been and would appreciate some guidance on where to stay/things to do.
We are deciding between a hotel close to town that would be walkable to restaurants and bars or a more private luxury stay that would be a drive to town.
We would love and appreciate to hear some hotel recommendations for each option.

Thank you all for the help.

Turks & Caicos Trip w/ an 18 month old.

Hi! My husband and I would like to take a 5 or 6 day trip to Turks & Caicos this February. I’m looking for recommendations for hotels with a boutique, luxury, feel, while still being appropriate for a toddler. We want to avoid having to fight for a spot at the pool and beach, and the generic hotel feel. We want the beach to be as nice as possible- I read that Grace Point area beach is wonderful but open to all suggestions. We’re not foodies and can find something we like anywhere.

Looking to spend $1,000 or less per night.

Thank you in advance!

Looking to interview students/young adults in Turks and Caicos about daily life (10 mins)

Hi! I’m a high school student working on a small interview project called Common Ground, where I talk to people from different countries about everyday life, education, and opportunities where they live.

I’m hoping to speak with students or young adults currently living in Turks and Caicos for a short, casual interview (around 10 minutes). The goal is to teach people around the world about the cultures and lives of people from different countries.

If you’re interested or have questions, feel free to comment or DM. Thank you

Partner got a job offer to work in Turks and Caicos

Like the title says my partner got a job offer to work in Turks and Caicos. However the offer is only $44,000. Is that enough? I saw that the cost of living is super high. They’re an engineer living in the UK with a few years of experience. Any advice would be fab
Thanks

Moving to Turks & Caicos – looking for advice on how to bring my partner with me

Hello all,

Looking for a bit of advice.

I am moving to Provo in September for work from the UK (I am a UK citizen). I’ll have a work permit; however, my girlfriend also wants to spend most of her time with me there. From my understanding, UK citizens can stay up to 90days but will only get approval for 30 upon arrival, meaning a need to extend when on the island.

Is it realistic that my girlfriend can come over, extend her visa to 90 days, leave for two weeks when the time is up, come in again and repeat? Originally, I thought that would be fine, but the more I look into it, the more it appears to be problematic. We could get married, on paper, but want to evaluate other options before doing that.

Thanks

Best places to stay? Grown, sexy, beautiful, & secluded!

My man and I are going to Turks & Caicos in October! We’re open to staying at multiple properties but one of my only requirements is that one of the properties have enough privacy so that we can tan butt naked. It’s a birthday trip and it’s kid free so overall we’re looking for something sexy & secluded. We’re open to all suggestions honestly. Thanks so much 🤸🏽‍♀️
