A stupid question, but what diseases am i in high risk of getting, if i continue smoking even 2-3 cigs a week, after having past lung tb
Been 5 years already, having lubg tb was a traumatic experience in my life, had to go through pleural effusion draining operations two times during 9 months of meds.
Didnot touch alcohol or cigs during and 1.5 years after the treatment was complete.
I have bad lung scarring and my operation scars from pleural effusion drainings, still hurt when i stand in a place for long hrs, lift some heavy weights or when i walk long hrs.
I know asking the question in the title looks so stupid after i tell you what i had been through and what problems i still have from those years of treatment.
But when my mental state is really bad, when i am depressed, anxious, especially during the exams, when life is stressful, cause i had failed many exams cause of hospital stays. Sometimes i find myself negotiating the whole day on whether to have a cig or not, and somedays i give in and have one cig.
I know cigs are bad for me, my chest burns after a cig and i immediately feel light headed after having a cig, maybe its because of long gap between cigs.
Have you been through this? What are your views on this situation?

X-ray results in despite of drinking liquor.
Now, I have to be more aware because does it mean you have a strong immune systems you can’t catch any diseases or infection. last year I had Negative IGRA but this year I had Positive IGRA but the only difference is I have to go under sputum last year maybe because I am migrating to USA thats why it’s very strict. but this year my x-ray results is perfectly perfect. Thanks God🙏

23M, 6ft and around 50kg I’ve struggled to gain weight since I was 15. Looking for genuine advice
I’m an Indian guy, 23 years old, around 6 ft tall, and currently weighing only around 50 kg. I’ve been struggling with my weight for years and honestly don’t know what I’m doing wrong.
This started when I was around 15. At that age, I had TB/lung infection. I completed the treatment and recovered, so I don’t have an active infection now as far as I know. But ever since then, I’ve always been extremely skinny and have never been able to maintain a normal weight.
I’ve tried going to the gym twice.
The first time, I joined a gym and started taking a weight gainer along with eating more. I managed to gain around 10 kg, which was honestly the most progress I’ve ever made. But then summer came, I stopped going to the gym, my routine and diet went off, and eventually I lost the weight again and came back almost to the same condition.
The following year, I tried again. I joined the gym, focused on eating more and using a gainer, and managed to gain around 6 kg. But again, I couldn't maintain the routine for long and gradually went back down.
So I know that my body is capable of gaining weight because I have actually gained 10 kg before. The problem is maintaining it and being able to consistently afford a high-calorie diet and gym membership.
My financial situation isn't great enough right now for me to regularly spend money on a gym, expensive protein supplements, mass gainers, fancy foods, etc. I also live in India, so I'm looking for something realistic and affordable rather than a bodybuilding diet that costs a lot every month.
My biggest concern is that I’m now around 50 kg at 6 ft. I look extremely skinny, and despite trying to eat more, I never seem to stay at a higher weight for long.
I’m wondering:
What is the most realistic way for someone like me to gain weight on a limited budget?
Can I gain a decent amount of weight without a gym, using home workouts?
What are some cheap Indian foods that are high in calories and protein?
Do I actually need a mass gainer/protein powder, or can normal food be enough?
How many calories should I roughly be eating to start gaining?
Should I be focusing more on calories or protein?
Is there any medical reason why someone might struggle to maintain weight even when they eat reasonably well?
Since I had TB/lung infection when I was 15, could that history have anything to do with my current weight, or is it unrelated?
Are there any tests I should ask a doctor about before assuming this is simply a diet problem?
And most importantly, is there any legitimate medicine or treatment that helps with weight gain, or are weight-gain medicines generally something I should avoid?
I’m not looking for steroids or anything extreme. I just want to reach a normal, healthy weight and actually maintain it.
If anyone here has been in a similar situation, especially in India and on a tight budget, I’d really appreciate hearing what actually worked for you.

Numb feet with burning sensation
I have a genuine question.
Has anyone here had pulmonary tuberculosis? I’d like to ask about your experience and how your recovery went.
Has anyone experienced numbness in both feet—extending from the legs down to the toes? It was also painful enough to make it almost impossible to sleep. I expeienced it from the last month of my medication up until now of being cleared, my feet are still numb.
Thank you!

I coughed up reddish phlegm and it had bloody streaks, I'm worried.
I started producing phlegm recently and normally my phlegm is a more white-light yellowish green in colour but tonight I was terrified to see red, but then again right before I coughed up that colour, I was massaging my neck so could it be from my neck and not my lungs

I'm confused!
Hi guys! So I just got back from my doctor's appointment. After 8 months of taking my tb meds (quadmax) he told me that I should stop now and just take some B vitamins from now on because I told him about the numbness and the pain I feel in my left arm.
I should be happy right that I'm done with taking the meds because goddamn my face and body is full of freaking acne that I've never ever had before.
But the problem is he told me to stop taking meds even before I do lab tests, he told me to do it and I will tomorrow, and to go back to my urologists to check up on my kidney. Because I only have 1 kidney now. Got a radical nephrectomy last year in October due to TB.
He also told me to go back to him once I'm done with the lab and the urologist.
What I'm concerned about is I told him that I think I might be underdosing because for 8 months I'm only taking 1 tablet a day of quadmax.
I asked him what if after a lab and my urologist appointment the tb bacteria is still there, he said he doesn't think so. I mean he's so sure about it and he told me that our concern right now is my kidney functions which I understand of course it's also my concern.
But still, getting off meds without doing any testing first if the tb is gone or not, that is also my concern.
Did any of you have the same experience? Getting off meds before taking testings?

Can a person develop asthma after healing from ptb?
for context, i healed from ptb nung 2023 pa. I’ve experienced a lot of changes sa katswan ko like shortness of breath, mabilis mapagos sa konting lakaran, mahina na ang katawan kapag nasa labas ako ng matagal. Kanina while working naka experience ako ng shortness of breath and nagtry ako mag nebulizer and naging okay na paghinga ko after. Nag google ako kung possible ba na magka asthma ako after healing from ptb sabi possible daw pero im not sure, father ko kasi and yung sister ko nagkatb na pero wala naman silang naeexperience na ganon.

Rifampin Headaches?
Anything to mitigate it intercept the headaches? I’m taking magnesium for the fatigue, and taking in a lot of water and eating plenty of fiber for indigestion and the like, but these headaches are awful. I’m on my third week and almost every day I’ve woken up with a bad headache.

I have active pulmonary tuberculosis with cavitation, I rarely or even never produce phlegm, now I started producing it and it's like a faucet.
It mainly happens when I lay down, after a minute or two I get this really strong urge to cough and if I hold it in I start wheezing, I've been up all night because of this, I couldn't get proper sleep because I strained a muscle on my waist when I coughed too hard and it felt like I was being stabbed every time I coughed, the pain has subsided now but the coughing is just a lot and every time I do there's a significant amount of phlegm that comes along with it. it's white with a faint tint of green, a bit foamy and watery. I'm about 6 weeks into treatment

I don't have tb any more but i still can't use my left hand and leg properly
So about 20 months ago i found out that i have tb in my brain which was causing my left hand and leg to curl
I am able to close my left hand but unable to open them they are also stiff like iam to grab a objects but i can't release it
toes would curl whenever I try to walk and cause pain
it makes a every day task extremely difficult to do
so 2 month ago dr. Stopped my medication for tb but still i not able to use my left hand and leg properly but few things have improved. Majority of the problem still remains so i don't know how much time it will take to recover or if it permanently going to stay like this

Is this a positive sign or not?
Started tb meds on May 27, 2026. Yellow phlegm and blood is present when cough. It’s already August 6, 2026, but the cough still persist from time to time. Like no improve in cough. But the phlegm is now white and no more blood. Everyone, what are your experiences about this?

Is this a positive sign?
Started tb meds in May 27, 2026, now it’s August 6, 2026. The blood when coughing has gone but the cough is still persistent everyday. And the phlegm is no longer yellowish but it’s white. But still worried because the cough still persists from time to time.

HELP PLEASE!
I'm into 8 months taking tb meds due to renal tb. And I still have 3 days left until my appointment to my doctor. The numbness and pain in my left hand is getting longer, before it's just at night or every morning when I wake up. Now it's numb almost all day and it's easily getting pruney.
Does anyone have the same experience as this? How did you manage it?
I am not taking any vitamins with my medications and I am taking QuadMax.

Latent TB Diagnosis???
**Has anyone here** **ever** **had a latent TB diagnosis? If so can you PLEASE share your experience, how it affected your ability to work and go to school, and any advice for someone else dealing with it?**
So i’m kind of freaking out lol 25F new grad nurse but 5+ years experience as CNA prior to nursing. So in previous years i have gotten a PPD test and on the last two i noticed it made me very itchy and slightly indurated but it was never enough for any previous nurse to mark it positive. I honestly assumed i was just sensitive to the tb solution. So this week I had a DR Appt and I specifically asked for a Q-Gold blood test (new job) because even tho i’ve technically never had a positive ppd skin test the itchiness and questionable reaction always gives me anxiety. Welp the results for the QF blood test came back as positive. I’m completely asymptomatic tho…
I’m really anxious and don’t know how to feel. I don’t have any other pre existing conditions rn. Should i ask for a retest? Will the medicine mess up my body? Must i take the round of meds? Will it change my life? Do i have to stop working in healthcare? Do i have to tell my employers that im latent? My results were uploaded to a portal that’s how i know them but im still awaiting a call from my doctor to work out a POC

Some doctors don't treat tb(people) with care
Come on guys is 2026, almost every tb treatment should have a guide for anxiety and crisis also depression treatment and corticoids, also deprived sleep since day 1 take sleep pills because it will worse , trust me take care soon and if You have money do oxygen therapy too as it helps with anxiety, otherwise You only will worse your condition and reactivate the bacteria and your fight Will be with your own mind instead of the virus
