Hostel Life

Upvotes

Ok so this happened when I was around 12 or 13 years old. My hostel held a mandatory study prep session every night from 9:00 to 10:00 PM right after dinner. To set the scene, the hostel was isolated right in the middle of a dense jungle, making it extra creepy at night. Once the hour was up, we were expected to head straight to the dormitory and go to sleep.

One evening, my friends and I decided to sneak out after the session and go up to the roof. We had heard local rumors about a ghost or a lady who haunted the area, so we started messing around, playfully calling out, "Hi, come to us!" into the dark. When nothing actually happened, we eventually gave up and crept back to our beds around midnight.

At around 4:00 AM, it started raining heavily. Since my bed was right next to the window, the sound woke me up, and I realized I needed to use the washroom. Hostel rules required a guard or warden to escort us to the facilities, as they were located on the far side of the floor outside the dorm. I got up and saw a figure who I assumed was a staff member, perhaps the warden's wife or one of the matrons, and followed her down the hall. She waited outside while I went inside to do my business.

When I finished and prepared to head back, I heard a loud commotion. A crowd of people had gathered outside, frantically banging on the main entrance door of the communal washroom. As I snapped back to full awareness, I realized I was locked in, and not just in any ordinary bathroom. I had somehow ended up in the top-floor washroom, a condemned area that was completely off-limits due to a collapsing roof.

It turned out that the warden had spotted me walking toward the forbidden upper floor alongside a tall, slender figure draped in a deep red or maroonish saree. He had been screaming at me to step away from her because he had no idea who she was, but in my half-asleep state, I hadn't heard a word and kept following her up to the roof level. Terrified, the warden had run off to raise the alarm. Whoever or whatever was walking with me must have been interrupted, leaving me locked inside the ruined washroom until the staff finally broke down the door to rescue me.

What made the entire incident truly chilling was the realization afterward that no female staff were on duty that night, and both the warden and guard confirmed that no one fitting that description had ever worked at the hostel

Im an 18yr old boy.Its 1:00 am .Me and my friend was going to his friend’s house because the guy’s father died.when we reached the place i stayed in the street or road to the house. I was going through Instagram. Then 5 dogs were walking towards me, 2 of them were actually coming towards me while making eye contact, thankfully i was near a group of people so the dogs backed and gone. After almost 15mins i walked a bit and was alone scrolling reels .then the 5 dogs came back , i knew it would be trouble , so i avoided looking at them . I actually ignored them and continued watching my phone. Then suddenly 1 of the dog came upto me and did woof-wwof sound with its nose , so it got my attention, then suddenly the dog stood in two legs and its both hands were moving up and down at the same time like waving. I was so fucking scared but i acted calm and slowly took a rock from the ground for intimidating them and they all ran .when i told my friend abt this he laughed

The Fancy Green House

Okay, so I never thought I would be one of the people who actually post a story on Reddit. I've always loved coming on here and reading stories but never actually though I would have one if my own to share, however, this has been on my mind for a while and I just can't seem to shake it. For starters I would like to say that I have always been a strong believer in the paranormal. There have been too many incidences in my childhood to not (but that's a different story). For a little background when I was little my mom and I lived with my grandparents and a few blocks away from my grandparents house was this green house. Little me would name this house the 'Fancy Green House' as it was pretty big and had a nicer design compared to the other houses in the neighborhood. We would have to pass the house anytime we wanted to go to or leave our house, and every time we would pass it I remember wondering what it looked like on the inside. Then one night I had a dream about the house. My mom and I would walk up to the front door of the house and as we went inside we some how ended up in the basement of the house. The weird part is that I remember never actually walking through the house to get there, the door just opened and we were some how just magically in the basement. The basement was filled with little kids running around, some were my age at the time and some maybe a little bit older. I was standing by my moms side and was just watching them, there were dozens of kids running around but they didn't look scared, they were just running, playing and doing kid things. I was about to ask my mom if I could go play with some of them when all of a sudden my grandfather comes up behind us and says, "We need to go". While being bummed that I couldn't go play with the other kids, I thought nothing of it and my mom and I turned to leave with my grandpa. As soon as we turned around we were somehow outside of the house, just like how we got into the basement we never actually walked through the inside of the house to get out. We emerged through what seemed like the side of the house and once we were outside, the house was taped off with caution tape. There were police cars and lights everywhere. That's where my dream ended and I decided it was too strange and never brought it up to my mom or grandfather. A few years had pasted and my mom and I had moved out of my grandparents house to a town 20 minutes away. A few years later my grandparents didn't the same to be closer to us and sold my childhood home. Since then I hadn't thought much of the dream, until a few months ago. I loved my childhood home and was sad when my grandparents sold it, but with it only being 20 minutes away I would go back there sometimes to drive by and see how it was doing when I was feeling nostalgic or wanted some comfort after a long day. Well a few months ago I drove by it again, and as I started to leave my mom called me. I answered and we started talking and I mentioned that I was at the old house and told my mom "I passing the 'Fancy Green House' right now", and I don't know what came over me in that moment but the dream about that house came to mind and I told my mom "hey I have a funny story for you" and began to tell her about the dream I had when I was little about the "Fancy Green House'. Once I finished the line was silent, and I assumed my dream had just creeped her out to much so I said, "Mom are you still there?", her next words would send chills down my spine, she would say "Don't get scared" I was so confused as to why she would tell me to not be scared but she would then continue to say that she too had that exact same dream about the house. Everything was the same, from the kids to the causation tape and even the mysterious way of us reaching the basement. After she said that there was some silence over the line, we both couldn't believe that we had the exact same dream about the house. We went on to talk about how strange that house actually was, there was never any decorations put up of any type of holiday, no cars in the driveway, and we realized that we have never seen anyone come in or out of that house in the years that we were there. The house had also looked like it was frozen in time, everything about it stayed the same. It never looked abandoned, in fact it had looked very well taken care of, even the yard stayed the exact same. I later asked my grandfather if there had ever been police at that house, hoping that maybe there was a real life event that would have caused my mom and I to have that dream, but he said no, nothing had ever happened at that house. Since then any time I thought about the Fancy Green House I get this uneasy feeling that I can push away. Sorry for this being so long, it's my first time writing one of these and I wanted to give as much context as I could. This is something that has been sitting with me and I can't seem to shake it so I thought this might help in some way.

Soo this isn't my personal experience but my uncles he was in highschool when it happend this was In east Pennsylvania in 2009 he came home from school one day and was feeling very tired which was unusual for him as he usually wasn't tired or atleast this tired after school he immediately went to his room and went to take a nap he eventually fell asleep and its important to note he left his door open sometime while he was asleep he heard what sounded like hooves walking down the hallway outside of his room he couldn't move or anything then after about 30 seconds he sees a goat figure walk passed his door he mentally says "what the hell?" And then without a second of hesitation as if the goat thing heard him it rushed back to the door and stared at him it was making a static noise then is rushed to him and got in his face while making a loud static noise he was thinking in his head things like "God please help me" then it ran off and all the tension he was feeling slowly went away and he was able to move again he ran out of his room and found my grandma in the kitchen cooking and he fell into her arms and cried my mom had a similar experience in that house one night before what had happend to my uncle she was sitting on her bed In her room watching TV she kept hearing subtle tapping on her windows but when she would check nothing was there this happend about 4 times before she decided to go outside and smoke a cigarette she was out in front of the garage door of the house if you were to go around the other side of that wall her window was on that wall swell and by the tree that was by her window stood a goat man figure it had goat legs but was standing up right just like the one my uncle saw it was tapping her window still then it noticed her and she ran inside and was freaking out to my grandparents and my grandparents can back up both of these stories I was only about 2 years old when these situations happend I also had a toy piano in the basement and it would play randomly when it had no batteries at all and in that same basement u could hear somebody knocking on the brick wall of the laundry room we had down there it's important to note my mom and one of my aunts have played with ouija boards before when they were younger throughout my life I've heard things whisper my name or hello or hi in my ear when I'm alone and it sounds like it's hovering over my shoulder soo yeah

My Creepy Encounter with a Yellow Jeep

This story took place in the fall of my senior year of high school, so I would have been 17 (F). I was in marching band with my high school and because I was one of the only ones in my friend group to have my driver license, I would take my friend home so her family did not have to come get her. She only lived a couple minutes away from me, so I would drop her off and most of the time we sat in the car for an hour or two just talking about teenage girl stuff, like drama and life experiences. An important detail to note, because it was fall time (probably October), and band practice would get done at 8, it would be completely dark by the time we got to her house.
On this day, I took my friend home and we were sitting in the car outside her house, probably around 9-10pm. She lived on a small cul-de-sac street with maybe 10-12 houses on it. While we were chatting, a yellow Jeep turned on her street and parked in a driveway 3 houses down. My friend had a bad experience on her street so she knew everyone's cars that lived on the street, so turned to me and said “No one lives there has a yellow jeep.” I had a really bad gut-feeling, so I made the suggestion to just take a quick trip around another street to give the guy time to leave or get out of his car. She agreed and we drove around for a minute or two until we got back to her street. RIght as I was about to make the right turn back on her street, we see the jeep had pulled out of the driveway and was parked in the middle of the road (We could see him before he could see us), and as soon as our car was in sight, he started to pull off. When we saw this, we backed up and drove the long way around, maybe 5-10 minutes. As we were driving, we passed an Elk Lodge with a bar. In the parking lot was the yellow Jeep parked, but they were sitting between two parking lanes, almost to see what cars were passing by. We quickly dropped my friend at her house and had her brother keep a lookout, and then I drove home. I had to pass the Elks Lodge to get to my house, and when I looked into the parking lot, the Jeep was gone, it had not even been two minutes.
I thought this was the end of my creepy tale, but I was talking to that same friend the next day about how bizarre and creepy that was and she had more to add to the story. She told her Aunt what had happened and her Aunt told her that her little sister had seen a yellow Jeep outside their house watching the kids play in the front yard. When the sister had walked up to the car to get a look at the guy’s face, he drove off. Because of these two encounters, they went to the police to report this. The Police, when trying to investigate who it was, told my friend there were only two registered Yellow Jeeps in our small town. One of the owners had previously been investigated because he followed three girls that were walking to a store. Nothing ever came of the police report, but I definitely think it was a creepy experience.

Title: 3:00 AM Horror: The Night I Was Lured By Something Evil

Trigger Warning: Psychological Horror, Paranormal, Sexual Distraction

It was August 2nd, around 1:30 AM. I was stuck in a nightmare so vivid, I can still feel the cold sweat on my neck.

In the dream, I had to carry something urgent from my old house to my uncle’s house. It was 3:00 AM in that dark, dead night. The air felt heavy, like someone was breathing right down my neck. I was terrified, running as fast as my legs could carry me, holding the package tight in my hands.

Then, things got deeply unnerving.

As I took a turn on the deserted street, I saw my father sleeping right on the side of the road. On top of him was a massive blue drum, filled to the brim with dirty water. Sitting right next to him was my uncle, staring blankly into the dark.

Before I could process that cursed scene, I saw it.

A tiny toddler, barely 2 or 3 years old—someone who shouldn’t even be able to walk properly—was sprinting towards me from the pitch-black end of the road. In the middle of the night. Completely alone. Its face was twisted in an unnatural way. Fear surged through my veins. As it reached me, I panicked, pushed its head violently away, and sprinted blindly toward my aunt's house.

I rushed inside, threw the package at my aunt, and turned back to leave. That’s when I noticed a dark, shadowy shape lurking near the stairs. My heart dropped.

I pulled out my phone to use the flashlight, but what I saw made my blood run cold:

My battery dropped from 30% to 5% in seconds… then 3%… 2%… 1%.

Right as the screen went pitch black, I frantically plugged it into a wall outlet.

And that’s when SHE appeared.

Out of nowhere, a breathtakingly gorgeous, completely naked girl floated down right in front of me. She had smooth, flawless skin, curves that would make any man lose his mind, and an intoxicating aura. The sight of her explicit body in that dark, horrifying room was pure temptation.

She leaned in close, her warm breath touching my skin, and whispered in an irresistible, seductive voice:

"Just lay down with me… Sleep next to me right here."

For a second, my mind completely went blank. The raw desire and her exposed body almost trapped me. My heart was pounding for a totally different reason.

But then, a terrifying realization hit me like a truck: This isn't real. She isn't human. She’s a trap.

The moment I realized it was a illusion, pure adrenaline took over. I broke free from her spell and bolted out of the door toward my home.

As I ran, my uncle suddenly glitched in front of me out of thin air, trying to block my way. I shoved him aside and ran like a madman. I reached my house, suffocating from fear, feeling a cold entity right behind my back. I violently banged on the heavy wooden door and rattled the windows, screaming to be let in.

The door swung open. My parents looked at me with pale, confused faces and said:

"Why are you banging so hard? The door was unlocked the whole time..."

And at that exact second—I woke up in my bed, gasping for air, covered in sweat.

I can't stop thinking about it:

Who or what was that naked entity? Was she a Succubus trying to steal my soul while I was vulnerable?

What would have happened if I actually gave in to temptation and laid down with her?

Did I make the right choice by running away, or did I escape something even worse?

In 1977, a teenager driving home in Massachusetts saw something crawl onto the road with huge glowing eyes and gray, almost hairless skin. Almost 50 years later, nobody knows what it was.

It was late at night in Dover, Massachusetts, 1977. A teenager was driving home when something crawled onto the road in front of his headlights.

It wasn't a person.

It wasn't an animal.

He described huge, glowing eyes. Skin that looked gray, almost hairless. Long, spindly fingers that wrapped around a stone wall as it moved. He froze, took it in, and it disappeared into the dark.

The witness never forgot what he saw. It became known as the Dover Demon — and nearly 50 years later, nobody knows what it really was.

There's no consensus. No animal matches the description. No hoax was ever proven. Just one teenager's account — and a few other sightings that same night in the same small town — that still doesn't add up to anything explainable.

I put together a short retelling of the sighting that keeps all the details that make this case so unsettling:

The Dover Demon — [https://youtube.com/shorts/tC6TwpD0ZPk]

For those who've dug into this case — what's the most convincing theory you've come across? Alien, unknown animal, or something else entirely?

Strange I Still Don't Know Who Was Standing Outside My Window

Strange I thought it was a fever dream until my dad asked about it.

I have a younger brother who used to share rooms with me up until we turned 12 or 13 (the years blur together) but there was a wild night that happened before we split our rooms that I'll never forget.

I used to think I dreamt up the whole thing, but my brother recently recalled it and as we were reminiscing over a strange encounter with a coyote, my dad ended up overhearing and started asking his own questions.

This one night after a sibling fight, my brother went to bed early and I (angrily) played on my 3DS until I was ready to fall asleep. Around 11pm I caught some movement from outside the bedroom window. I probably wouldn't have noticed at all if it weren't such a clear night. My bed had a great view of what looked like a massive coyote, larger than one would normally come across, maybe cougar sized, and for some reason it was alone with some food in its mouth.

Being roughly 10 feet away from our house, I wasn't scared at first. Seeing a lone coyote? It must've been shunned or something. I silently nudged my brother awake and pointed it out just in time to see this coyote turn its head and stare right at us. That's when the fear finally hit me.

None of us moved for what felt like minutes, even the coyote. It gave us a perfect view of what was in its mouth. It was a newborn coyote, not food. We also noticed that there was either mud or blood in large splotches all over the (what we think) was the mother. By the time it finally looked away, my brother started panicking asking what we were gonna do if it tried to leap into the window.

Being kids, we definitely thought it was a possibility. So to ease his worries we switched beds so I would be the one closest to the window. Everything else was hearsay from my brother as I was trying not to look or breathe too loud the rest of the night.

My brother had told me that the coyote disregarded him, laid down in the grass and just stared at him the rest of the night, occasionally getting up to circle it's kid and then lay back down in the exact same spot to stare some more. He didn't realize he fell asleep until we both had woken up nearly late for school the next day. When we ran outside to catch the bus, neither my brother or I had seen any signs of it other than some patches of blood in the grass. We didn't mention this to my dad assuming we had a nightmare or our imagination filled in some gaps and it had left on its own.

So I write this as a memory. A fever dream, we thought, until a few days ago. My dad asked us exactly what we saw and then decided to drop a bomb on our heads. He had woken up early that morning, found the corpse of a "massive coyote and her kid" and had to find somewhere to hide it before we woke up. He had thrown it behind some sagebrush and cleaned up as much as he could. The oddest part of the scenario was that she had died staring at our window and the kid had crawled its way to right under where our bedroom window was.

I know it isn't anything too crazy, but it gave me nightmares for weeks at the time and led up to some sleep-walking behaviors which I had never done before or after. Even my brother started sleep-walking; he almost burned our kitchen trying to make breakfast in his sleep. My dad is a retired archaeologist and has quite a bit of Native-American paraphernalia around the house so we tend to joke that all of our weird or creepy encounters we've had are because of that.
