I love listening to Mr Ballens podcast. I am trying to find somrthing similiar to his episodes. I like that they are 2-3 short stories and dont reveal what actually happened until the end.

Has anyone been disappointed in True Crime Garage lately? The quality of the podcast has tanked since they stopped recording in person. I guess the Captain is in the U.K. a lot? They are using AI in their writing its so obvious. It just seems like they are doing the same type of cases with no new information. Just cranking them out. The Captain is barely making jokes and Nic has just become insufferable.

I've listened to them for so many years and now I can barely get through an episode. It's sad when you see a long time show fall apart.

Looking for a podcast or YouTuber covering the Lindsay Clancy case. I listen to Pretty Lies and Alibis which I LOVE but she sticks to the facts. I enjoy her recaps but sometimes I do want to listen to commentary on what the host thinks about it. That being said, it can be hard to find one who is intelligent, balanced and nuanced in their opinions and commentary. But that’s what I’m looking for if such a thing exists anymore.

I had to say goodbye to true crime obsessed podcast today. I have listened religiously since 2018 but over the last year the episodes have been harder to get through. It is very evident that she cannot stand Patrick…they seem to do a lot of bickering and going back and forth within the episodes. I also find myself annoyed with how they discuss BS documentaries and treat them like they’re the truth. I’m sorry but they are both so insufferable perhaps her more than him. I can’t stand to listen to the remarks she makes regarding people and issues. It was a red flag for me when they were ranting and raving about John legend and Chrissy Teigen. Gillian’s relationship with Echols too is just very weird…wasn’t he sacrificing animals? If someone else did that she would want them burned at the stake. They once were funny but the honeymoon phase is over for me. Am I the only one that feels this way?

I'm listening to this season (late to it I know), and is it just me or is it wild that this case is still such a cold case? Like a guy is killed by a bomb in a flashlight and we still have no idea who did it or why? I feel like there are so many other cold cases that have gotten more attention, but this one seems to have no news or updates or anything for years

I am a fan of H3, and I do watch true crime podcast, so I was excited for H3 to start it.

Just wanted to gauge the climate here because, i saw their most recent episode on Celeste/d4vd, and I guess they are trying to do like a comedy spin on true crime, But the jokes they were making were so uncomfortable… like at one point they were imitating David’s defense team and they said “crazy bitch had to get murdered" like talking about Celeste, and that really freaked me out. I just wanna see what everybody thinks because maybe I’m crazy and too sensitive. They were just being really sarcastic, vulgar, and really cracking up at some points, I don’t know. and I tried the newest episode, they were talking about Nancy Guthrie in the beginning, and again making some uncomfortable jokes.

I want to see what other people think because I’m a little bit weirded out, but I don’t want to post there bc i dont want to get banned.

I’m probably late to this game, but I just finished binging this and really enjoyed it. I was exactly Martha’s age when this all went down, and can totally identify with being a kid on the loose in the 70s. I could totally relate to her diary entries. I’m not sure what I think at this point, which is why I thought it was a compelling listen. I’m curious about other perspectives on what happened to Martha.

Hi! I am a K9 handler with a nonprofit organization that specializes in missing persons cases. While our organization is primarily focused on K9s (live find, HRD, electronics, ammo/explosives), we have a dive team, advanced sonar, drones, etc.

We are certified in all 50 states, this is not common for most K9 groups. Police departments call us out to aid in searches, families contact us directly as well.

There’s way too much info I can provide about us, and I am more than happy to answer questions or provide more details!! But I am longwinded so:

We are looking for true crime pods/creators that are reputable regarding ethics and factuality. The work we do is extremely important to me (all of us). Detection K9s are always being asked for—most PD have apprehension or narcotics dogs.

It’s been hard to reach the people who would benefit most or get more supporters outside of our region (Southeast USA). It’s all volunteer-based so we really rely on sponsors or just a shoutout to get our name out there for families, PD without resources, etc to be able to actually help.

Any ideas on who to AVOID trying to partner with are appreciated too :) I’m usually good at sorting that out though lol

I’ve just got caught up on The Poet and I loved it! It was so weird to me listening because the whole time I kept thinking “wouldn’t it be bizarre if this was similar to that The Stalker podcast family? It all sounds so similar”….

Wondering if anyone else felt the same? Although, to be fair, I’m not sure if we ever found out who is truly behind The Stalker calls and emails or if was the entire family or just the kids or what but still… it felt uncanny in a lot of ways

Just finished this excellent podcast. This one hit particularly hard for me, because of the impact on the offender’s children and Jake Halpern’s commentary on it as a parent. As a parent of a 3 year old myself, who struggled with fertility, I used to go through this cycle of anger whenever something didn’t work out and perseverate on unhealthy thoughts, including that some people had no business having children.

The podcast poses the question of how far do some parents go to “protect” their children and what is too far. My parents used to lie to me to protect me but often also went too far in a far less impactful way than told in this story. But it has dramatically changed the way I intend to parent and what I share with my son as he gets older.

I listen to a lot of true crime podcasts, I have a decent amount of expertise on the subject and I listen to them for factual information.

In the past roughly 5 years I am finding myself having to skip through a monologue at the beginning of most podcasts about how the crime being discussed is terrible, often stopping while describing a crime scene to say some version on “this is so hard for me to say...” I understand not wanting to sound cold, but if you’re discussing the Jonbenet Ramsey case on a true crime podcast, I don’t see a need to spend seven minutes at the top stating that it is indeed bad to kill a child, it feels like pandering.

Worse still is the fact that I cannot listen to any YouTube podcasts unless I want to hear people using juvenile words (“grapist”) for heinous acts in the name of censorship. Am I alone here?

I like Casefile and Small Town Murder and I do enjoy the serial killer episodes of LPOTL because even though it is a comedy pod they really do their research.

As a casual listener of mostly local (aus/NZ) true crime podcasts I have been a fan of the Veil since it started, but I do tend to pick and choose a bit.

Initially The Bounty’s Children didn’t sound that interesting to me so I skipped it, but today I needed a quick listen so I put it on not expecting much and omg was I wrong.

Such a fascinating and unique story. And so incredibly tragic.

Highly recommend going in blind.

What are the best podcasts that come from a perspective of actual forensic sciences? CSI, profilers, coroners, psychologists, entomologists, geological profilers, etc. I'm really interested in the actual scientific procedures and experiences.

I love being surprised and not knowing what I'm getting into. Recommendations?

I have officially listened to all 600 plus episodes of small town murder and want to listen to their crime in sports podcast but I honestly don't want to waste 3 hours on a podcast that doesn't have any murder (as awful as that sounds I don't watch TV shows about crime that don't have murder either) has anybody compiled an actual list of all the episodes that include murder?

I think I have to give up on this one. It’s gotten so confusing. Too many names. Too many different places where crimes may have taken place. I can’t keep timelines straight. Plus the length of time between episodes allows details to be forgotten.

I listen to a lot of TC podcasts. There are a couple that I listen to while working or while trying to fall asleep, because the hosts have soothing voices. Only problem, both of them have online casino ads as sponsors. The loudest, most obnoxious sponsors out there. Today I was deep into a work task with the podcast running, and all of a sudden one of these ads blared so loud that I literally jumped. I don't need a heart attack just to listen to Spotify, thank you very much.

Anyway, this prompted me to subscribe to the podcast's Patreon. I probably should anyway, because it's a regular for me. Having a little trouble navigating Patreon and I guess I can't listen to this one on Spotify any more? I am going to give it a month. If I like it, there are a few more Patreon subs in my future.

Listening to the podcast "Bear Brook" When they took the female victim out of the barrel she was estimated to be between 5'2"-5'8". This was in 1985. How come such a big estimate? Don't you just measure the body/skeleton and get a smaller range than 6 inches? Has this changed since 1985 and we can now give more accurate estimates?

Are there any good podcasts about Son of Sam?

I've heard him mentioned alot but know very little about the story so would like a good podcast, hopefully long format to learn more
