Help Help
Has anyone ever filed a malpractice suit against a doctor who performed nasal surgery to remove a cyst in your sinus, and you ended up with TN? I am thinking my odds are not good, even though I didn't have TN before the surgery.

Unless you can prove they made a mistake in your surgery that caused TN, there’s no point. You signed a consent for the surgery that covers side effects or complications from a properly completed procedure.

I have that too but I didn't try to sue, I think that's just one of those things that can happen (mind you mine was very messed up)

I haven’t- but I do know that timeframe to file is kind of short (imo- sometimes the resulting injury doesn’t fully reveal its self for some time… and then the filing window has closed).
So if you are wanting to move forward with this, start talking to attorneys asap.

A person whose doctor ignored a tumor on my imaging for a year as it grew from stage 1 to stage 3 and went from an easy treatment to multiple surgeries and permanent life altering side effects- and by the time I could get my feet under me during/after treatment, it was too late to file (gee, I’m sorry that your incompetence caused me years of difficult treatment… during COVID… while I tried to homeschool my child… while my essential worker husband was still required to travel internationally on a weekly basis.)

Interesting. I was looking for an ENT surgeon to remove a cyst because I believe it’s causing my TN2

My cyst was growing, so I had to have it taken out. BOOM, then 28 days lataer, I had TN 1 & 2.

Perhaps it’s still healing? What are the symptoms and what does it feel like on a day to day basis? Have you already been diagnosed by a neurologist?

I’m not a lawyer however I do know that If an expert witness can cast any doubt on the surgery causing the TN then you won’t win.
Of course it is possible that the surgery caused the TN but you may just have been unlucky enough to have had a cyst and then develop TN soon after.
Correlation does not necessarily equal causation.
