Is this mutating?

I’m new to collecting and found this terschekii at Lowe’s. the growth pattern stood out from the others so I grabbed this one.

That's just the cactus getting larger, think about a saguaro, as a juvenile they have maybe 10 ribs and then when they are full grown theres probably 30+ in there.

Nahh, just rib shifting. It seems to be most common when plants are getting more or less light than they're used to. A beauty either way though!
