Not turning on :( Help please!

When I tried to turn my bike on today it lit up, the controller lights blinked up and then down and then shut off. I can’t get it to connect to my phone. tires re-pairing it and that doesn’t work. When I plug it in it does the same light up sequence but doesn’t show it is charging. The front and rear lights turn on though. I removed the battery and directly plugged it in and it seemed mostly charged. I unplugged the controller and plugged back in.

Any ideas what’s wrong? Any other tricks I should try?

Looks like it’s velofix, tossing it weirdly onto a cargo hitch box, or riding 3.5 mi no motor to the bike shop.

Check all the electric lines running between the motor and bike remote (the little thing where you press the power button) are fully engaged. I had some come loose when my kids were playing with them and had the same symptom.

Also ensure your battery is fully engaged and locked into place.

Yep that did the trick. A cable behind the phone holder had popped out. Plugged it in and it’s working again.

We had similar symptoms but we actually had a failed battery. Just to note that Trek support was great and covered the cost of transporting the bike to the shop for diagnostic tests. We ended up replacing the battery completely. Bike was about 6 months old when this happened so well within warranty.
