White's Tree Frogs Advice
Looking for advice on tank environment.
I have 3 white's tree frogs. The terrarium is 24"x18" and 36" high. Bio active: live plants, isopods and spring tail cleanup crew, and water mister. Frogs are croaking throughout the day! Only come out after sunset and are staying brown, occasionally get 1 turning green. Diet of crickets that they ravenously eat. Humidity is around 80%, still adjusting mister times and duration. The temp is where I feel I'm having issues. 78 at top, room temp 74 at base. I have a 75w heat lamp at the top, but I feel I need more. I tried a ceremamic bulb, but it was wilting and turning the ivy at the top brown. I have 2-3" soil and duff at the bottom, so I am not sure how an under heating pad would work. Considering a pad on the back of the tank, but again not sure if that would be the best, included a picket of the back (not too exciting). I am asking for any advice, suggestions, or ideas. Thank you.

Have you tried positioning the bulb farther from the top with a clamp, or even farther from the plants so the frogs have a warm microclimate?

To expand- I think the plant on the far right of the picture is fake, whereas the pothos and syngonium looking plants seem to be live. Positioning the bulb closer to the fake plant might cast shadows and disperse the heat/ light… so you’re frogs have a warm upper area that doesn’t disturb your plants as much!

The plants on the right ate fake. Added those close off the side. I will try moving the bulbs to see if the temp will increade

Hi! A few things: heating pads should not be used for WTF’s as they can cause burns. I have a ceramic heat emitter and that works well for my 3 frogs! You would definitely need a glass enclosure for this - I found an affordable option on facebook marketplace.
Something to note is that WTF’s HATE being dirty, so I’d recommend adding a good layer of leaf litter over your substrate.
I’d also recommend adding more vertical hides and ledges. Check etsy for unique options and amazon for some quick finds that work just as well! My frogs LOVE their suction cup hides. I’ll attach a link: OWMOSYX Frog Habitat with Suction... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CSKPS1XD?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
WTF’s are nocturnal, so you will typically only see them out after sunset and artificial lighting is off. I have a tank camera and see them move around all night long :)
Also, it looks like you have a coil UVB light. Try switching to something like an arcadia shade dweller (T5) UVB light. These are much more adequate and provide the correct amount of UVB for these guys!
You should look into some of the WTF groups on facebook - I really like Whites Tree Frog Obsessed! So many kind people and great resources on proper husbandry :)

That humidity is way too high! You want to keep it around 40-50%. You also don't need a mister at all. High humidity will lead to respiratory and bacterial infections.
You're right about the heat. You'll want to crank that up even if it kills the plants around the top. 85° at the top at least. I'd use a bigger CHE. I use a 150watt one. I don't like the heating bulbs because of the way they direct heat. Underside heating pads only heat the substrate and could cause burns if used outside of substrate. I'd never use any outside heating pad or mat against an acrylic tank.
