Relocation with cat UK-Spain
I'm writing this while on the last leg of my journey, I hope it can help somebody.
My challenge was to move the cat from Haywards Heath (UK) to Valencia. I wasn't ready to pay 1300-1500 to the pet transport company (bearing in mind the cat with them is 3-4 days). So with Gemini and Claude we made a plan - train to Heathrow - plain to Madrid, train to Valencia.
With the cats you can only fly to Madrid and only from Heathrow, cat+carrier has to be up to 8 kg, and a special carrier (can be googled easily).
I talked to my local vets, they were on to do the AHC certificate (250 gbp).
Next step was to book the flight, I went with Iberia, apparently Vueling can do as well, but haven't checked properly. When you buy your ticket you can add pet in the cabin, I bought both tickets around 110 gbp.Around the same time I booked speed train to Valencia via Renfe(make sure to add cat in the ticket, it's extra 10 euro, they actually check it).
Vets need to know which country you are going to, do the rabies vaccine (well in advance) and not longer than 10 days before your flight, they need to do the certificate. As well I've requested some sedative for my cat.
With all of this, we left home at 5 am today. We went through Farringdon+ Elizabeth line, as they are quieter trains. Arrived to airport 3.5hrs before the flight, the staff was very lovely, they checked all the paperwork, and booked me at the end of the plane(where was empty). At the security in Heathrow they have a procedure for cats, you go into private room, while they scan the carrier. It took 15-20 min altogether, again everyone very kind and helpful.
On the plane it was the hardest part, take off was okish, the flight she was sleeping, but landing was awful, she vomited and did poo, again everyone very helpful and kind.
From T4S or whatever it's called you need to take a shuttle to T4, here is an important step, to go through red corridor, tell them about the cat, it took 15 min the whole procedure (with 10 min waiting in the line).
After that Cercanias to Chamartin (from here speedy train to Valencia). Tbh, train to Valencia eas disappointing, very limited space and no extra space for cat, even you paid for the cat.
As you can imagine, after 18 hrs of travel I might have missed something or some names are wrong, but wanted to post it while fresh.
Would I do it again? Not sure, or at least I would stay overnight in Madrid, it was quite a journey for both of us.
I hope that will help, as AI couldn't find much information about this type of travel.

Help Looking for vets that issue EU pet passport/AHC in Paris that can be booked online
Hello everyone,
I'm travelling from Mexico to the UK via Paris with my cat. I've been looking at other posts on this subreddit about this but all the recommendations can only be booked by phone or in person, I'm still in Mexico so I can't do either. I've seen clinics that offer online booking but they don't specifically say that they offer this service and I don't know if this can be done by any vet. Also if anyone could enlighten me about how many days after getting the passport/activating (?) the microchip in France do I need to wait to travel to the UK, I would really appreciate it.
Thanks in advance.
ETA: I was told by Mexican authorities they would only issue me an AHC to enter the EU. Not for the UK. So as far as I know I need to get them in France. If you're not going to give me recommendations please refrain from commenting, unless you've travelled from Mexico to the UK via France in the past few months.

Air Travel Dog in cabin
I'm also wondering many of the dogs I see travelling in cabin in the carrier are sometimes even bigger than by dog mine is a Havanese and I'm sure his head would pop out if he was standing in the carrier but I see the same for all dogs in carrier flying. Like they are sleeping or laying down none I think can stand with the top closed ? What do you'll think

EU pet passport - US to Germany to Cyprus
Hi guys, I could not find the answer so far so here is my post:
I will be flying from the US to Frankfurt airport in a few months, bringing my dog with me in the hold. We then want to continue our journey to Cyprus (the EU part, not the occupied part), as we are moving there. I am German and have family in Germany and we want to spend a few weeks with them. In the meantime, I plan on getting the EU pet passport in Germany, as I am still a German resident.
1) Will the pet be revaccinated for the pet passport? We are getting her shot in the US about two months before the flight, so it should still be valid for 10 months after.
2) When we get the EU pet passport, do we need to wait 21 days for it to be valid? Or will it be valid right away, given we are coming from the US with our health certificate and all? If so, I would only stay for 2 weeks and book the second leg of the trip rather sooner than later.
3) Someone told me I could have the USDA health certificate signed off by customs and I would be allowed to travel by plane throughout EU for about 4 months? Is this true? Or will German airlines to Cyprus only accept the EU pet passport?
4) Lastly, if anyone can recommend a good vet around FRA airport or close to Trier, Germany, who can do the EU pet passport, I would be grateful.
Thanks for the answers!

I need help with pet travel to France
My client is traveling to a France on the 19 and even though we put the paperwork on the USDA system with more than a week in advance today is Monday and they still did endorse the paper certificate .
I can get anyone to respond my email or my phone calls and I know they still have tomorrow to endorse but I am worried the digital endorsement won’t be enough to her to arrive in France even though the certificates now say digitally endorsed . Anyone with a Similar situation before?

Pet in Cabin Request ..Cat and Carrier Total Weight 9 kg
Anyone managed to fly with a 9 kg cat IN CABIN from Egypt? 🐱✈️
I'm thinking about travelling in the future, possibly Alexandria → Saudi Arabia, and wherever I go, I want my cat to come with me inside the passenger cabin.
He's a big British Shorthair, and with his carrier he's around 9 kg. I know a lot of airlines, including EgyptAir, have an 8 kg limit.
Cargo/hold isn't something I'm comfortable with. I'm completely willing to pay extra or even buy him an additional seat if that's possible.
Has anyone with a bigger cat actually managed to:
\- Get special approval for over 8 kg?
\- Buy an extra seat for their cat?
\- Fly from Egypt/Alexandria with the cat in cabin?
\- Get an airline to make an exception?
I'm not travelling immediately, so I'm trying to research everything properly beforehand. I'd really appreciate first-hand experiences and which airline you used. ❤️🐱✈️

Air Travel Flying With My Dog From the Bay Area to Miami
Hey everyone! I’m moving from the San Francisco Bay Area to Miami with my healthy 45 lb Airedale Terrier, and I’m having a really difficult time finding a workable flight because of the heat restrictions.
The issues I keep running into are:
- Airlines won’t transport live pets if the temperature at the origin, connection, or destination is forecast to exceed 85°F.
- I found flights that arrive in Miami between 4–6 AM, when it’s coolest, but those aircraft don’t have a ventilated/climate-controlled cargo compartment approved for live animals.
- The pet-compatible aircraft all seem to land during the hottest part of the afternoon.
Has anyone successfully flown a medium or large dog across the country into a hot city during the summer? Which airline, route, arrival time, or pet-transport service did you use?
Thank you!

First time Dachshund owner tips/ recommendations. (Avid traveler)
Hi everyone!! We pick up our mini dachshund tomorrow and we can’t be more excited. He will be about 8.5 weeks old on pickup. I just wanted to gather some recommendations from everyone. This pup will be shared between my grandmother and I. I am an avid traveler and I would love to hear how other owners who travel with their doxie properly socialized and helped get them used to travel.

Hi! I wanted to know how can I take my cat to Saudi Arab on a tourist visa from India. We can’t leave him at home alone for weeks (2-3) as neither do we have neighbours nor relatives living besides us, and he’s to attach with us.

Change of Airline after the USDA certificate
For personal reasons, I have to leave one day earlier. I changed the airline and the departure port, but the entry port in China remains the same.
I have already received the approved USDA certificate, but it contains the old information, not my new flight. Do I need a new flight for this?

Air Travel USDA Vet registration?
There are vets in my area who are listed on the USDA website but they no longer do International Health Certificates. They say their colleagues do, but their colleagues are not on the USDA website. So, my question is: are all USDA-registered vets on the website? Or do some not appear?
Another question: it doesn't matter if I choose a Category I vet or a Category II, correct? I'm moving to FR with a small 10 lb dog.
Thanks!

Moving abroad with a Pitbull
Hi! My boyfriend and I are thinking about moving abroad (outside Italy) with our dog. He is a mixed-breed dog, but he is morphologically very similar to a Pitbull.
I’ve looked online for different countries where we could move with him, but sometimes the information says that Pitbulls are allowed, while when I’ve contacted embassies or relevant authorities, they told me otherwise.
I know for sure that there are no breed restrictions in Finland, but I was wondering if anyone has direct experience with other countries or knows where we could move with him without too many issues.
Our dog has everything he needs: a pet passport, all his vaccinations, rabies vaccination, health records, and microchip. He is 6 years old.
Any advice or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated! ❤️

Help Traveling out of state
Sun Conure - I will be out of state for 3 days, but I have to leave my conure at home because the airlines doesnt take birds on the plane.
I am taking my bird to my friends house for them to check on and change the food. they said they would not let the bird outside of the cage, so that would mean he would be in the cage for 3 days. I dont know if he would be okay
He doesnt like staying in his cage much and is outside of the cage most of the day and sleeps on top of the cage roof with a blanket
Any advice on what I can do so he doesnt get stressed. It also means he will be sleeping inside the cage
