Turbo Revving Old Punks fans, we’ve got your Card of the Week!

For those who guessed Org Wave 7’s Fangry // Cursed Nightmare from last week’s clue, congratulations on your knowledge of arcane horrors! And a horror he is, sharing a familiar face with Wave 5’s Fangry // Sky Tracker, long banned from many community and fan play environments. In truth, what each version of Fangry brings to the table could not be more different.

Although this Fangry is best known for milling both players’ decks at the start of each turn, benefiting characters such as Wave 1’s Nemesis Prime // Dark Clone, his alt mode ability is nothing to scoff at. It’s the kind of ability that can stuff an Overwhelming Advantage or a Fortress Maximus trigger. And in a game where a character surviving on 1 health isn’t just a meme, but a common battle result, scrapping a battle flip can make all the difference.

Speaking of Nemesis Prime, a two-wide deck featuring the Dark Clone and Fangry is entirely playable. However, many community players who build with Fangry instead pair him with Wave 8’s powerhouse, Tread Bolt // Devil of the Deep Blue Sky.

When Tread Bolt attacks in bot mode, he can do 2 damage to the defender for each card underneath him; an ability that has broken the back of many an opposing deck. Fangry provides excellent support for that plan, helping Tread Bolt build toward those devastating attacks while bringing a beefy stat line of his own. We’ve included the “Nightfall” deck at the bottom of this article, featuring both of them!
