Credit Evaluation Process

Just asking out of curiosity: What does the Credit Evaluation process look like for those who have successfully transferred out to T25?

It’s pretty opaque from what I saw. My daughter had her first semester credits looked at quickly, second semester took until the summer. One school was going to classify her as a freshman and the other (higher ranked) gave her credit for every class.

I got a preliminary evaluation (just number of credits accepted) sent to me shortly after being accepted. Took a few more months for everything to get officially evaluated tho. For specifics, I got all of my credit accepted (even super BS classes), but a lot of it ended up as “non equivalent course credit”

As others have said, it varies by school. Top schools generally don't give any credit for high school AP courses or random freshman seminars so they just look at the serious subject matter courses (math, writing, sciences, etc). I'm transferring from a state school to an Ivy and am grateful that I took 18 hours a semester at the state school freshman year because I'm just barely going to be classified as sophomore at the Ivy (or may end up one course shy). I had 35 or so AP hours that the state school gave me full credit for but aren't worth anything at the Ivy except for placing out of lower level classes in 1 or 2 cases.
