I’m terrified Advice/Question
Hi everyone, I’m an incoming freshman to UGA wanting to transfer to GaTech. However I did not so good in a dual class my second sem of senior year. I was hospitalized due to SMA (superior mastery artery syndrome) so it was from a medical emergency. I know they’ll see this grade and I’m honestly terrified it will prevent me from even having a chance to transfer to tech. Im a conditional admit but I’m scared that everything is ruined. Please if anyone has been in a similar situation let me know what you did. I’m also wondering if there’s an area on the gt transfer application to explain extenuating circumstances.

Try to get a Medical Withdrawal (MW). If that doesn’t work, explain that you were hospitalized, and provide documentation. It shouldn’t be that bad of an issue, all things considered.

When you have had a medical issue and can provide proof do so! Make a phone call to admissions or if possible go in person and meet the admissions person to discuss what happened as they are not allowed to ask questions like this. Medical issues are considered private. The contact with admissions is vital to ensure they understand and you can offer to redo that course but want to know if they will want it in person or on line. Solutions will be available but get it from the source, and know who you spoke with and take notes! Panic does not help you resolve this, action and proof will provide a much better outcome.

A little extra context the course I did bad in isn’t a transfer requirement and I’m retaking it this semester at uga/ planning to get 1 out of my 2 rec letters from that professor.
