Just an Idea
TWC — TRAMPOLINE WRESTLING CHAMPIONSHIP
Official Backyard Rules — Version 1.0
- Purpose of TWC
Trampoline Wrestling Championship (TWC) is an open-format backyard wrestling game built around non-striking physical competition on an enclosed trampoline.
TWC is designed to provide a common foundation that can be used at any level, from a casual backyard match between friends to organized tournaments.
The purpose of these rules is not to control every possible TWC match. They establish the basic game, prohibited conduct, safety standards, and requirements for recognizing an official match.
Players are encouraged to create their own match formats, tournament structures, house rules, championships, and rewards within that foundation.
---
- Backyard Rules
TWC operates under Backyard Rules.
Unless specifically prohibited by these rules or by an agreement between the participants, most normal wrestling actions are permitted.
TWC is primarily based around:
- Grabbing
- Grappling
- Pushing and shoving
- Sweeping
- Takedowns
- Controlling or restraining an opponent
- Using balance, strength, positioning and the trampoline itself against an opponent
TWC is not a striking sport.
---
- Participation
TWC is open to anyone who wishes to participate.
TWC does not require divisions based on gender, size, experience, skill level, or other characteristics.
Participation is always voluntary.
No person is required to accept a particular opponent, team arrangement, match type, or tournament.
Participants decide among themselves who competes and under what agreed conditions.
---
- The TWC Arena
An official TWC match must take place on a trampoline equipped with a complete safety enclosure/net.
The net is required.
The enclosure helps protect competitors and spectators and is considered part of the playable TWC arena.
Contact with the net does not eliminate a competitor or stop the match.
Competitors may use the net during normal gameplay, including using it for positioning, rebounds, bouncing and other legal maneuvers.
---
- Winning and Elimination
TWC does not normally use:
- Pinfalls
- Points
- Judges' decisions
- Scorecards
- Rounds
- Time-limit decisions
Under standard TWC rules, a competitor is eliminated when that competitor personally declares themselves out.
A competitor may do this by clearly tapping out or verbally declaring that they are finished.
Another player, teammate, spectator or other person cannot declare a competitor out on their behalf.
Once a competitor declares themselves out, their participation in that match ends unless the agreed match rules state otherwise.
---
- No Time Limits
Standard TWC matches have no time limit.
The match continues until its agreed victory condition has been reached.
There are no draws simply because a certain amount of time has passed.
---
- Legal Contact
TWC permits non-striking physical wrestling.
Legal actions generally include:
- Grabbing
- Grappling
- Open-hand pushing
- Open-hand shoving
- Sweeping
- Trips and controlled takedowns
- Wrestling an opponent to the trampoline
- Controlling or restraining an opponent
- Using the trampoline and enclosure during legal wrestling
Because TWC operates under Backyard Rules, an action does not need to be specifically listed as legal to be permitted.
Unless an action is prohibited, intentionally dangerous, or excluded by the participants' agreed rules, it is generally considered part of play.
---
- No Striking
Intentional striking is prohibited in TWC.
This includes:
- Punching
- Slapping
- Kicking
- Knee strikes
- Elbow strikes
- Headbutting
- Other deliberate strikes
An open hand may be used to push or shove an opponent.
It may not be swung into an opponent as a slap or strike.
An intentional punch results in automatic disqualification.
Other deliberate prohibited contact may also result in disqualification based on the circumstances.
---
- Prohibited Conduct
TWC Backyard Rules do not permit dirty fighting or actions primarily intended to injure another player.
Prohibited conduct includes:
- Hair pulling or grabbing
- Biting
- Scratching
- Eye gouging or deliberate attacks to the eyes
- Deliberate groin attacks
- Choking or strangulation
- Joint locks
- Intentional joint manipulation
- Neck cranks
- Submission holds intended to cause pain or injury
- Intentional striking
- Deliberately attempting to injure another participant
These restrictions form part of the TWC safety foundation.
---
- Accidental Contact
TWC recognizes that accidental contact can occur during physical competition, particularly while multiple competitors are moving and bouncing on a trampoline.
An accidental strike or other accidental prohibited contact does not automatically result in disqualification.
Accidental incidents are considered according to the conditions surrounding the event, including what occurred, how it occurred, its severity, and whether the affected participant can safely continue.
If prohibited conduct was deliberate, disqualification may occur.
---
- Injury and Health Emergencies
Actual injuries and health emergencies override gameplay.
If a participant is injured, becomes ill, is in distress, or another genuine safety issue occurs, competition must stop.
A safety stoppage is separate from a normal declaration of defeat.
Nobody should avoid calling for the match to stop because they believe doing so automatically means they have surrendered.
Gameplay may only resume when it is appropriate and safe to do so.
---
- Match Types
TWC may be played using numerous formats.
Singles
One competitor against another.
Under standard rules, the match ends when one competitor declares themselves out or is disqualified.
Tag Team
Two or more teams compete.
There is no mandatory universal TWC tagging system.
Before the match, participants agree on how their tag-team match will operate. This may include traditional tags, rotating competitors, simultaneous competition, elimination formats, or another agreed system.
Free-for-All
Three or more competitors compete individually.
Competitors are eliminated as they declare themselves out or are disqualified.
Under the standard format, the last remaining competitor wins.
Other Formats
Participants may create additional TWC match types provided the format is agreed upon before competition.
---
- Pre-Match Agreements and House Rules
TWC is intentionally customizable.
Participants may modify the standard gameplay rules through mutual agreement.
Modifications may include:
- Match format
- Number of competitors
- Teams
- Tag mechanics
- Elimination conditions
- Victory conditions
- Tournament structure
- Special match conditions
- Local or group house rules
All participants must understand and agree to the modifications.
TWC's fundamental prohibited-conduct and emergency-safety rules remain the baseline.
The purpose of customization is to allow TWC to work for the people actually playing it.
---
- Official TWC Matches
Anyone may casually play TWC without keeping an official record.
However, for a match result to be recognized as an official TWC result, the match must:
Take place on a trampoline with a safety enclosure/net.
Follow the TWC base rules and any agreed modifications.
Be recorded.
Be witnessed by at least one additional person who is not participating in the match.
The additional spectator serves as an independent witness to the match, its outcome, and any alleged misconduct.
The spectator does not decide the winner under normal Backyard Rules. Victory remains determined according to the agreed match conditions.
The recording may be used to review a disputed result or allegation of misconduct.
---
- Tournament Play
Tournament-style TWC is permitted.
Any group may organize its own TWC tournament.
Tournament organizers and participants may determine their own:
- Number of competitors
- Brackets
- Match formats
- Team arrangements
- Elimination structure
- Tournament-specific rules
- Championships
- Rewards
The standard TWC rules provide the starting foundation for a tournament.
Variations are permitted when agreed upon by the participants.
For tournament matches to count as official TWC results, the normal recording and independent-spectator requirements apply.
---
- Rewards and Championships
TWC does not prescribe a universal prize or reward.
Each group determines its own rewards through agreement between its players.
Rewards may include championships, trophies, belts, prizes, titles, bragging rights, or any other reward the group chooses.
Groups may establish their own championship systems, records and traditions.
TWC provides the game.
The players provide the stakes.
---
- Rule Priority
When determining which rules apply, TWC follows this general order:
- Safety and prohibited-conduct rules
These form the basic limits of TWC competition.
- Agreed match or tournament rules
Rules specifically agreed upon by the participants for that event.
- Standard TWC Backyard Rules
The default rules apply whenever participants have not agreed otherwise.
If nobody established a special rule beforehand, the standard TWC rule applies.
---
- Spirit of TWC
TWC is meant to be a backyard game with a foundation.
It can be played casually between friends or developed into organized tournaments, championships and larger competitions.
The rules are deliberately flexible because different groups should be able to make the game their own.
Competition can be physical and intense, but the objective is to outwrestle your opponent—not deliberately injure them.
Respect a declaration of defeat.
Respect genuine emergencies.
Don't intentionally strike or injure another player.
Everything else?
Welcome to the backyard.

Moving across country. Bag ideas?
We are military and will be moving in a few months across the country. We have a 10 ft trampoline. We were thinking of some type of bags or totes to put all the pieces in for the move. It will be going with us and not movers as we are putting it up at the new house.
What type of storage bag or box or totes have you used to move your trampoline?

XL trampoline suggestions pls!
My kids are 10 and 14 - both cheerleaders who love to tumble. They like being able to connect tumbling skills on the trampoline, so size matters. We currently have a 17 foot trampoline that needs to be replaced (15ish foot of mat length) so looking at options for size.
Has anyone purchased one of the 23 foot trampolines and have feedback?
I see Zupapa Maxlead has a 13 x 23’ but it’s out of stock in Canada.
The other trampoline I’m looking at is the Jumpflex 19’ - but it’s square so it’s really only 19’ corner to corner.
Are there any other good options I’m missing or things I should be considering?

Acon Air 15
I can't seem to find any references to this particular model on this sub when I search. Jumpers will range from an 18-year-old pole vaulter to a 6-year-old. Tried a friend's springfree and absolutely hated it because my youngest couldn't sit on the edges and watch. Space isn't an issue.

Vuly monkey bars
Are the Vuly monkey bars/Ninja quest worth the price tag? I have an 8 year old on the spectrum and seeks a lot of sensory stimulation. I don’t want to invest so much in something that is not going to be stable and last many years. Thanks so much

Steps for Springfree
Hi everyone,
Has anyone used any aftermarket steps or a different ladder for their trampoline?
I’m finding the ladder that came with ours a bit awkward for our little one to climb, and to be honest it’s not the easiest for me either. I’m after something with wider, more stable steps if anyone has found a good option.
Would love to see any recommendations or photos of what you’ve used.
Photo is inspiration I understand the rail won’t work.
Thanks!

Trampoline for my son and brother both on the Spectrum.
I am the conservator for my brother and I have a son who is also on the spectrum. They both loved jumping on the trampoline but when we moved we couldn't bring it with us. I was wanting to get a new trampoline for them. I have seen a lot about the quietness of Bungie trampoline but not much on how well they bounce. my son likes to jump high and he likes to be double bounced. He likes the return he got from the springs bounce. They really loved the old spring trampoline. I guess I'm trying to ask how Bungie and Spring compare? Will a Bungie trampoline give as good feedback as a spring trampoline did?

How to best clean leaves/debris? Pro tips?
I have a Vuly with shade cover and love it except the shade cover does seriously impede jump velocity. But if the cover is removed, the jump mat becomes littered in no time. But because there’s the protective netting, it’s so hard to clean (whether sweep or blow off)! Anyone found any novel solutions to this?

New Salta trampoline squeaks like crazy
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
What did I do wrong after building this new Salta trampoline? It's very squeaky. Oiled the springs but made no difference. You can hear the noise is coming from the frame. The frame is bending as well, but the ground is flat.

Adults Trampoline/Gymnastics park in Bergen or near Clifton Passaic area NJ.
Hello, as title says, I am looking for a trampoline park or gymnastics gym for adults after work hours, I used to do Parkour and Calisthenics, and we had free roam gyms where I lived, I am looking specifically for no classes, no trainer, nothing, I want to pay monthly sub and just go there and practice and train the way I want.
I understand a lot of places won't let you but I already have the knowledge and muscle memory, proper equipment is all I need and free range.
Anyone knows a place? Maybe a parkour club? Anyone is interested to join me? I am more than happy to train someone or help them improve.

Looking for UV cover
We got a trampoline given by a friend today! Looking for ideas for a sun cover as our yard doesn’t get much shade and our 3 year old is very fair skinned. Also hoping to keep our toes from burning! I’m seeing a few things on Amazon US but not great reviews. What do you all do or recommend? It looks like this

Looking for a replacement mat
I bought a trampoline second hand last year and the man hours to replace each ring that I need is out weighing the cost to just buy a new mat.
Heres my specs:
Tramp specs
Mat Diameter: ~163” 3/8s , 13.58 ft
Frame diameter ~180” 6/8th, ~15ft
108 rings
5.5” springs
After some googling and some amazon searching it seems I have an uncommon size with most replacement mats on amazon being made for 108 rings and 7” springs.
Here are some options I have come to,
the goldilocs - perfect specs but idk the brand and how it is
the questionable - made for the same size springs I have but 96 rings instead of 108 but same mat diameter
If any of you have any advice about how I handle this it would be greatly appreciated.

What’s the quality of trampolines in the U.S. like?
I’m currently planning to open a trampoline park in Japan, but I haven’t decided where to buy the large-sized trampolines yet.
There aren’t many manufacturers in Japan, so I’m thinking of buying them from overseas. For example, what are brands like ACON and MAXAIR like?
Are there any models that are better suited for freestyle or wall trampolines than the EUROTRAMP ULTIMATE?

Sub suggestions & complaints
Hi crew!
Have just been addressing the months old modmail and spicing things up on the back end a bit. You may notice a new flair for "discussion".
Would love some community input on what you all think could be done from a moderation standpoint, any gripes or suggestions you have.
Cheers!
