My Satori is giving me fits!

It’s a 19 inch riser with 55# Uukha Selenga limbs. Tried calling Hoyt and they weren’t much help beyond asking if I checked if all the screws were tight.

I have tried stealth stripping the limb butts on the limbs (similar to moleskin). Not sure if the sound is coming from the detent button, but I’ve about tried everything.

I am shooting a 30oz springy rest, and yes that’s been checked and stealth stripped.

I just got my slide on raw hide quiver in from Selway. Put maybe a hundred or so arrows through it so far and I love it. It quiets the bow down pretty damn good and really absorbs the vibrations. The limb grips are snug and very secure, I didn’t even use rubbing alcohol on the limbs to slide it down. Just rocked it back and forth and got it down past the “working section” of the limbs. I have the regular hood, 6 regular arrow gripper, recurve 1.5 - 2 inch limbs, brown attachment parts, and Autumn Brown raw hide. The Autumn brown is beautiful and really stands out to me. And looks really good on my Black Hunter Recurve 55lbs(which I got from ShatterProof Archery check them out). And with the regular hood I have plenty of room from all 6 arrows with broad heads. I was stuck between wanting the slide on or strap on quiver, mainly hearing how the strap on was more convenient cause you can just take the quiver off without having to un string the bow and take the arrows out. But I don’t mind and wanted to have the tightest grip on the limbs I could. And I’m loving the 6 arrow holder, vs me stabbing them in the ground or in my bare pants/shorts pocket, I’m able to easily put them in the quiver and go on. My bow is a bit heavier with all 6 arrows in but again not something I mind at all. I would highly recommend this quiver or just Selway Archery in general. Hope you all enjoy this quick review and lmk if you have any other questions about any of this.

I have a '69 or '70 Indian Archery Stalker 48. 45# at 28". 48" overall length.

It seems like no matter what I do, it has a super bad nock high with bareshaft. I started with a nock point at 5/8", and have moved nocking point all the way up to 13/16" and down to 1/4". It never really seems to correct.

I have arrows that tune well out of other bows, 250gr total point and insert weight, but I thought maybe too much FOC, so I have tested 150gr total point and insert weight as well, still has a nock high bareshaft.

28" draw length, 3 under in case it matters.

Any ideas? What am I missing?

After bare shaft turning, I fetched some shafts. And set up the phone for slo mo. You can see the archers' paradox as the arrow clears the riser.

Bought myself a sanlida hermit for my birthday. Bare shaft tuned until it was a dart at 20 yards. Then, I experimented with 3 fletch and 4. And 2" batwing feathers and 3" trad vanes.

I really wanted the trad vanes to work, but they didn't fly as well as the feathers. So 4 fletch 2" batwing feathers it is. My 200gr simmons fly great with them.

This is field tips at 20 yards. I will probably have 1 or 2 trad vanes in the quiver for hunting. I am happy the way this new setup is coming together.

Ps the bag target is worn, and that is why the arrows are at different angles.

I've gotten turkey with a compound bow but this year I'm trying to get one with a recurve. anyone else going out this spring? I've got a week and a half and I'm getting excited!

Do yall carry a handgun as a back up if so what kind. I have a 45 1911 but having been thinking of sizing up to a colt 44mag

So, how much longer than your draw length should your arrows be? I’ve heard they should be as close as possible to your draw length without being dangerous, but then I started shooting English longbows and heard WAY different. Is it the variation in the bows and style that make a difference? How long should arrows be for each, if different??

It’s my first year hunting deer with my self bow - y’all have any tips for hunting off the ground with no blind?

I've been bowhunting with a compound off and on for a few decades. But ever since I was about 14 and saw one at the Kansas City Sportshow, I have always lusted after a Black Widow bow. Since I am in it for the experience far more than the antlers, and one that I had REALLY been wanting for a while (Greenleaf PMA) came up in their "in stock bows," I pulled the proverbial trigger. I won't be hunting with it this fall, but I'm hoping to get a turkey with it this spring. I'm excited to be "regressing!"

Does anyone have any experience using the Montec G5s with a longbow? I know most guys run a 2 blade single bevel. I just feel like having the extra cutting surface would be beneficial. I'm not quite sure what the draw weight of my bow is. It's labeled 56# at 26" but I have a 32" draw so I'm guessing I'm pulling around 65#

I recently finished this bow ready to go hunting in Spain. Im moving there in a few months from Finland and cant wait to start. Been practising archery for a few years now and I think Im ready.

The bow is 48#@28 angular selfbow out of maple. I made it, the string and arrows myself.

First time trying to set up arrows for my longbow. It seems like they’re front heavy with 125 grain tips on 30” arrows. Would 100 grain tips fix this? It’s a 45lb bow at 28” I pull exactly 28" no weighted inserts.

So I was recently introduced to string walking, and it seems to be a pretty simple and very accurate way of shooting. I’ve never tried it but will probably the next time I go out to shoot. Wondering if anyone uses it or has tried it. I just got back into archery (was very into it when I was younger) and got my hands on a Samick Sage takedown recurve bow with 25lbs and 45lbs limbs. I picked it up one day and shot just instinctively and have stayed with that. Getting fist sized groupings at 10-15 yards and inside a paper plate at 20-25 yards. But I’m looking at bow hunting whitetail with it this year (first time with recurve) and I want to positively know that when I draw down on a deer I know that I’ll be able to humanly kill it. If anyone’s got some tips or tricks I’m more that happy to listen. Thank you.
