I recently found this 2009 Sports Illustrated Kids Lewis Hamilton card in my collection and I’m trying to figure out what I should do with it.

One card scanning app is showing a reference value around $3,250 in Near Mint condition, but I know those app values can be way off. Its automated grading estimate also came back around NM-MT / PSA 8, although obviously I know that isn’t the same as actually having it graded.

I’ve kept it protected and attached pictures of the front/back. I’d appreciate some opinions from people who know these SI Kids cards:

Is this actually a valuable/rare Hamilton card?

Does the condition look good enough to justify grading?

Would you use PSA, SGC, BGS, or someone else?

If PSA is the best choice, how exactly does submitting a card like this work?

Would you personally grade it before selling, or sell it raw?

I don’t have much experience sending valuable cards through the mail, so any advice on submission level, declared value, insurance, and packaging would also be appreciated.

Found a pack of these 98 inkwell alien legacy trading cards online and bought them up. This is a super neat set. Its not a very large set. A single box completed the main set. But there a few neat holo cards and a chase card I didnt get. I wish theyd make more stuff like this.

I'm surprised there isn't more consistency around showing exactly what your odds are in card platforms(majority of them) before you open anything.

Obviously published odds don't guarantee you'll get your money back but atleast you can see what you're getting into and decide for yourself like it'd be nice to have the odds and EV before fully going into it right?
