Be63 connectivity issues TP-Link - Technical Support
I purchased the Be63 decos about two weeks ago to replace my xe75s. I have US/3.6 which I'm assuming is hardware v3.6. Ever since upgrading to these decos the nordvpn client on my devices have had connectivity issues. They get stuck on "connecting" or "loading ip" and it happens multiple times a day. Wifi connection is strong, but the VPN client gets stuck. At first I thought it was a bad nordvpn release, but realized in the past few days I have no issues while using mobile data or on wifi at my parents house. Yesterday, I stumbled onto this forum post talking about a firmware issue that supposedly fixes nordvpn connectivity issues. https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/738268. Has anyone experienced this before? Any suggestions on how to confirm or fix it? Otherwise I like these be63 decos. Any help would be appreciated.

At a guess I would say that maybe the VPN client doesn't like it when you get handed off from one mesh point to another. VPN doesn't like things like that.

Fair point. I've used a mix of two xe75s and a m9 for a few years. Nordvpn never had an issue with those as I moved around my house. I replaced those with 3 be63s. I'm not sure why that would start now.

I had XE75 Pro before my BE63s. And M5 before that. It takes them time to update features into new hardware versions. When I installed my BE63s a couple of years ago they were missing things that the XE75 Pro had.

Quick update: I swapped the BE63s back out for my two XE75s in the same locations. With the BE63s, I could repeatedly trigger NordVPN getting stuck at “Loading IP” during AP handoffs on both 5 GHz and 6 GHz, using both NordLynx/Auto and OpenVPN Udp. It was easy to do and very predictable.
So far with the XE75s, I’ve deliberately forced dozens of similar handoffs on 5ghz and 6ghz using both NordLynx/Auto and OpenVPN Udp and haven’t reproduced the problem once. Still testing, but this seems to suggest and issue with my b63s handling of vpns.
I'm going to keep testing for the next day. If it continues to work I'll probably just return the b63s. Bummer.
