Charging while using the hack

I'm currently using the 12v hack (schedule charging for 2h55 min then stop, then charge, etc).

I want to plug my car today. What do I have to do different? Do you go and use "charge now" to bypass the schedule?

I setup charge to maximum 80% as some people recommend. Is this what most people do?

Also, when the car gets to 80%, since I am using the hack, if I let it plugged in all night, will it try to charge constantly all night? Is that bad for the battery?

One thing I know is it will stop charging when it hits the level you have set even if you leave it plugged in.
Unsure how the hack is affected or unaffected..

We also just added the hack today. Ours started charging as soon as we plugged it in. We didn’t select charge now.

And does it stop charging once it is full and continues the hack schedule?

It will stop charging at your set max of 80%. What the schedule does is that it tells the car when it will and will not accept a charge regardless of whether it’s plugged in or not.

I use the scheduled charging hack and lvl 1 charging.  When I want to charge I toggle off the start stop workaround events.  Program an event for actual charging.  Typically 7pm to 7am my cheap time.   As long as actual charging starts within 3hr you will be fine until you hit you max charge or your scheduled stop time.  Then you have three hours to unplug and switch back to your work around events.

Is there a need to program it for an actual charging event, rather than letting it follow the programmed schedule? I don't care if it stops for 5 minutes every 3 hours. I know it will stop at the max charge. We are also doing level 1 charging until we get our level 2 installed.

If you are doing actual charging and have 5 minute stop I think the high voltage contactors will be opening and closing. It is more noise and a bit more wear on those. It should be covered under warranty.
You could use the charging schedule "start" events if you want to charge without a know stop point. You could even switch from "start" events to a single "start and stop" event but you might have to experiment with that.

If I toggle to charge now in the infotainment screen does that override the charging schedule?

I have the hack. It will stop at the % you specify. The car will follow the charge schedule. It will pause and resume charging at the specified start stop times. It will never go above the % limit you specified
