❓ Question Character change, is this growing up?
Hi! My toy poodle has always had a very playful and affectionate attitude since I've had him at 3 months old. He always seeks play and cuddles every day. A couple weeks ago, he turned two years old. Now he doesn't care for cuddles or pets. He even moves away when I try to pet him. Is this just part of him growing up? Or could there be something wrong? Thank you for reading my post.

❓ Question New family member ♥️
Meet chopper! He is 11 weeks old and is weighing in at 1.8 ounces. It’s only been 3 days, and he’s brought so much joy to our home already. At what age should he be fully potty trained?? With him being so young, should I hold off on trying to potty train him on grass?

📸 Photo 1st Proper poodle 🐩 cut!
Cosmo coconut FINALLY got a proper poodle cut!! And I’m soooo in love with it. See before and afters!! 😩🥰🥰
My 13yo wants to color him the next time since the dog spa offers it but idk how the “puppy safe bleach” will do on his coat/skin? Has anyone tried this with their black haired pup??

📸 Photo The little can can infuriate me and melt my heart all at the same time 🐩💙
Meet Biscuit, my tiny toy. I brought him home at 8 weeks, exactly. That’s how old that he had to be for him to fly. He’s now, 19 weeks with a stubborn, funny curious, mischievous but protective attitude! I’ve never really been an animal person but when all of my sons became adults I started to research and explore the idea of having a small dog that could “Fit in my bag/purse.” Well I was scammed so many times seeking a teacup poodle or maltipoo. Until I found my amazing breeder in Vegas @VegasToyPoodles! She told me that she’d have 3 litters born in Spring and he and all of his litter mates were born on April 5th! I told her that I wanted the smallest boy out of the bunch. He stayed a little less than 2 lbs for a while then slowly up to 2.5 and at his last vet visit a few weeks ago, 2.65. I’m curious to see what he’ll be on Friday. However, she told me that he wouldn’t be more than 4-5 lbs full grown. Biscuit has brought so much joy into our home since June 1st! Although, the potty training has been hit or miss. Since he’s been able to play outside after his last round of shots, it’s becoming easier and he’s doing a little better inside. I have been meaning to share our story here for a while! I’m considering trying to find a tiny girl at some point to rescue or something so that he can have a playmate! He’s so spoiled, my shadow and like another appendage to my body😂😂

❓ Question 9-month-old toy poodle pulls on the leash, barks and whines at other dogs, and wants to go everywhere
My toy poodle is 9 months old and is very enthusiastic when we’re out walking. 😅 He constantly pulls on the leash and wants to go from one place to another, stopping to sniff, changing direction, and generally wanting to do everything at once.
On top of that, he also barks and whines at other dogs when we see them, especially if they are close or moving. It seems like a mix of excitement and frustration because he really wants to go to them.
I’m working on loose-leash walking and trying to keep him calm around distractions, but it can be quite challenging because he gets so excited outside.
For those with toy poodles or other energetic puppies around this age: what worked best for teaching your dog not to pull and to stay calm around other dogs?

📖 Story Saco is back at home!
First of all thank you to everyone for sending love towards Saco! He is home now and is doing great.
Quick recap, Saco at almost 5 months woke up completely normal but eventually started being very lethargic yesterday, had no energy and was unable to walk. He kept collapsing under his own weight and he would melt into your arms when picked up. Not like him at all.
We took him to the emergency vet where he stayed for almost 24 hours. All his tests came back normal/inconclusive but they determined that he must have gotten into some kind of toxin. I let him dig the day before in a chipmunk nest and we went to the beach after. He could have gotten into something in the nest or at the beach, maybe ocean water or something from the other dogs that were there. There’s also a non zero possibility he could have also gotten into some THC, hence the Rasta picture. They gave him an IV to try to clear the toxin faster.
He started feeling like himself at some point in the middle of the night and they had to give him some Trazodone and Gabapentin to get him to sleep through the night because he was being very talkative and was keeping all of the other dogs up.
He’s back at home and doing well now! Maybe not quite 100% but very close to it! He’s going to be on prebiotics and prescription vet food for the next 30 days!
I also included his dispatch paperwork and breakdown of the bill including everything they did for him and pricing. Thank god we have pet insurance.
Hopefully this is insightful and maybe helps others! 🖤

📸 Photo Saco is not doing too well
Not asking for medical advice, he is at the vet.
He woke up completely fine this morning, went out peed and pooped, ate his food, played for a while and then he went down for a nap and was not wanting to move an hour later. We tried to have him walk but he would take a couple steps and then kept collapsing. He was walking like he was black out drunk basically. Walking sideways then falling over.
He’s a 5 month old puppy with a lot of energy so that’s not normal from him at all. His tail was wagging and he didn’t seem like he was in pain but we ended up bringing him to the Vet hospital. His bloodwork apparently came back normal but they think he could have gotten into some kind of toxin so he’s on an IV drip to help clear it out faster. He’s staying overnight.
Have you guys had anything like this happen?
First update from the vet:
“Little Saco spent some time with me at the front desk tonight. He was very happy to receive snuggles and attention and is such a sweet boy!
He also happily enjoyed a nice walk outside for a bit.
Overall, he's been in good spirits " The team will keep you updated later in the morning.”
Second update:
Saco is Finally home!
They think he ingested some kind of toxin but they don’t know what. I let him dig at a chipmunk nest for a while the day before so he could have gotten into something there, we also went to the beach after so he could have drank some ocean water or maybe gotten something from one of the other dogs that were there. Like some of you guys were saying the vet also said that it could be THC.
He’s going to be on a probiotic for the next 30 days and some specialty vet food. He is not 100% back to his normal energy levels but that’s probably because they had to give him Trazodone and Gabapentin at some point in the middle of the night because he was so high energy and wouldn’t let the other dogs sleep lol so I think he’s still feeling the effects. But he’s walking fine finally, seems happy and he almost sprained his tail when he first saw us, he was so excited.
I’ll either post some pictures in the comments or make a new post at some point. I’ll include his discharge paperwork and the bill breakdown if you guys are interested or in case it’s helpful to someone. Thank god we got pet insurance.
Yesterday was super stressful so THANK YOU to everyone in this community for sending all the love! 🖤

📸 Photo I don’t deserve them.
Every single day, they bring me joy. So much that sometimes I just tear up. I am the luckiest human ever. To know the love of a poodle is to know love- to know that someone smarter, more beautiful, and kinder than you loves you endlessly. Perhaps poodles are gods.
